Hostel vacation rentals in Costa Rica

We stayed for 9 nights and absolutely had an awesome stay! the room was clean and AC worked perfectly. We really enjoyed the environment and sense of community that this hostel fosters as well as enjoying the privacy of a seperate room while staying there. The supermarkets are extremely close (2 to choose from within a 5 minute walk), the beach is super close, and the property is far enough off the main road that noise and dust aren't an issue. It was a pleasure staying here and would very stay again!

Don’t miss this place, it’s a little paradise. Ernesto, the owner, mingled with the guests, was very outgoing and helped anybody that needed anything. The food was great!!! They made us a super breakfast, included in the price of the room and he served us a very nice chicken multi vegetable soup/meal for diner that was to die for. We went and relaxed in the cool water at the river right on his property. All kinds of animals all over the place. Excellent secure and plenty of safe parking on the premises. I definitely recommend this place and will return whenever I can. Thanks Ernesto, keep up the good work! Pura Vida!

We really had a great stay at Casa Aura. Would not hesitate to recommend to others looking for a very nice hostel, close to the beach, with beautiful surroundings and breakfast included. Great value for the money.

Great place definitely for the price you pay for it! The garden is beautifull and Andrew and his wife are both very kind and easy to talk too.

I wasn't going to post a review because I had a very few nits with the place that might have led me to give it less than five stars. There were basically only two regarding the place itself. The first was the lack of a lamp on the dresser next to the bed, which left the room lit by only the fan light in the ceiling and I found that to be a sadly lost opportunity for a warmer ambience. The other was that the floor in the shower was slippery and I had to be careful about not falling. I really didn't want to mention these things (I'm reviewing only because he reviewed me and I want to see what he wrote), as I told them to Manuel and I'm sure he'll correct both of them. In fact he said he had two lamps I could use, but it was already too late in the evening to bother. And I'm sure he'll put a mat in the shower. Everything else was fine, except there was confusion finding the place as several other reviewers have mentioned. I'll send him a better map. In general very highly recommended!

Cabinas Carol is a great hostel… Carol is quick to respond to messages. Carlos, Ismael and Carolina were always helpful whenever I needed something. Great spot very near the wave - walkable - close to the markets, restaurants and most importantly the point… been staying here mant times over the years and always have a good time. Definitely worth the price.

We loved carols so much. Our first time in pavones and was surprised at how great the location is. Easy walking to surf and everything you need is a short walk. The space is beautiful and everyone is friendly. We’ll be back!

I stayed her for eight days and everything was great. The communal kitchen is well organized, kept clean, and has plenty of space. The vibe here is relaxed and it is close to the wave. I definitely hope to return.

We loved our time in Pavones, and felt completely at home and welcomed into the community at Carols place. Perfect location and truly restful vibe. Will absolutely be back, thank you!!

I don't know where to start. I am a person who travels a lot, always alone, I have never returned to the same place to see as many things as possible. Well, I think I left a piece of heart in this structure, everyone warmly welcomed me, starting from Luis, the girls at the reception, Kathryn at the bar, they made me feel like one of them, there was no need to go out there to meet people because they can involve everyone with events during the evening. It's also a great place to find other lonely people like me, where you create a huge bond, as it happened to me. But, the greatest connection, I created it with the staff, I will never stop thanking them for how they made me feel. It's the only place I would go back, just for them. I will definitely be back one day, and if it is not for vacation , I will be to hire myself as a worker and live with the PURA VIDA. Thank you guys, you were my family for a week and in my heart forever.

Excellent place, very quiet, the pool, excellent, very spacious, good field to rest.-

My daughter’s and my room at JadeMar was perfect for our 1-night stay. (We moved into one of the awesome cabinas for the rest of our stay.) Spotlessly clean, good AC and a perfect location for restaurants and groceries, and short walk to the beach to get the boats for tours. Henar is a really nice and helpful host. I highly recommend staying with her.

We had a great stay at Diego’s place. He was super kind and helpful, and our dog was more than welcome, as Diego has a few dogs himself. The place was very clean and conveniently located close to the beach and local restaurants. Alejandra, together with her friend, helped take care of our son, for which we are very grateful. Diego and Alejandra are wonderful, family-oriented people. I 100% recommend staying at their place.

I was really impressed with this hostel – such great value for the expensive area! My mattress was brand new and really good quality, which made a big difference. The place has a relaxed vibe, guest were nice, stuff was helpful and everything was clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable and pleasant stay in Santa Teresa.

I highly recommend a quiet place. A large kitchen

The atmosphere is relaxed and sociable, thanks to Leo and the other friendly guests, and the accommodations are comfortable and reasonably priced.

The place is very well maintained. The bar and the restaurant are a real plus. Clean bedroom, quiet. The host is very friendly. I highly recommend!
