Cabin vacation rentals in Claytor Lake

We wanted a relaxing weekend getaway to enjoy some family time and R&R. The remoteness of the cabin was perfect for that. Although we recommend arriving in the daytime, it was dark when we got there and that single lane road going in was a tad scary. Lol The hosts were very friendly and responsive. The amenities were spot on. There was plenty of room to accommodate our crew (2 adults, 3 teenagers and a dog). The hot tub was great and we enjoyed sitting around the table playing games and sharing laughs. Definitely a nice relaxing weekend spent making memories!

Beautiful home and setting. The home was comfortable with all the amenities you could hope for. The pond was awesome! We had a wonderful weekend and hope to come back again!

Super nice spot to get away from it all. The cutest, cozy, most charming cottage. Gorgeous area with not a whole lot of things to do but unplug and relax. Rocking on the front porch sipping a bottle of local wine with my dog by my side watching the geese in the pond reset my soul.We soooo needed that.

This place is a gem. Great fishing and so tranquil. We were greeted by deer in the driveway. Being from the city, this was a big deal for us. The house was beautiful and we had a great time relaxing. We miss it already.

These folks run a top-tier stay in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mts. My family enjoyed the getaway, and we soaked up all of the air and sun that we could! Simply put, we are already planning our return next spring. Thank you so much!

We enjoyed celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary here. Everything was as described and Randal and family was very responsive and to us and we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you and your family for allowing us to stay at your place.

This is our 2nd time here, and certainly will not be our last. It’s pretty hard to find a magical place like this where you feel right at home, have support when needed and the ability to just relax. Lost Horizon is pretty hard to put into words because how do you describe a setting, a feeling, a sense of calm and an escape in under 1000 characters?! You truly have to experience this place to believe it’s real and fully indulge in all it has to offer. The cabin has everything you will need to relax, feel rejuvenated and at ease. The Flamingo Cantina allows you to also relax, but can provide the opportunity to explore the river, fish, swim or cook out! Don’t pass this one over (or do - more open dates for us!)!

We had a nice stay at the cabin. The area is very peaceful. Rebecca was very responsive to any questions we had. We would stay with Rebecca again if ever in the area.

Setting was beautiful! Loved the hot tub on the porch and the views were stunning. Host was very nice, breakfast was awesome each morning, enjoyed the privacy. I would return for another stay anytime

We had a blast staying out in the mountains. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. The A-frame cabin was beautiful inside and out. We could not have chosen any where better to stay for a weekend.

This is the third or fourth time that we have stayed at this location and it has always been an exceptional place to stay for a relaxing an peaceful getaway. The location is beautiful and while it may be considered remote by some, it is easily accessible to surrounding attractions: Floyd, Meadows of Dan, Mabry Mill, Hillsville and Mount Airy. The home is exactly as advertised with great amenities. I highly recommend this location if visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway and we hope to be back soon.

Amazing stay and a fantastic experience. Beautiful other lodges in the same location. Everything was immaculate and clean and would love to come back!

I had the most wonderful stay at Bliss Cabin, to say the least. From the initial photos of the writing desk and yoga deck, to the curious graveled path winding around the property lined with life and decorative details, I was totally immersed in the love and care that was so palpably present! Kathryn & Luke were absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly accommodating! My recommendations while on the property: build and tend to a fire. Journal at the writing desk while playing Miles Davis. Take an early cold plunge in the river, do a round of Wim Hof breathing, then run up to take a hot shower at their beautiful abode. Chat with Luke, have tea with Kathryn. Do yoga on the deck. Say hello to the frogs. Express your inner musician with their drums and sound bowls. Let your soul free here!

absolutely beautiful place. the place was very clean and exactly what we needed. highly recommend!!

Such a beautiful cabin! We enjoyed the proximity to Hanging Rock and Dan River. Rocky’s ice cream was delicious.

We met Stevie at his music store downtown. Super nice host. Some broken things in the cottage due to the guests who checked out morning of our arrival but no fault of Stevie. There was no time for repairs before we arrived as he was nice enough to let us check in a couple of hours early so we could meet family in Mt. Airy. Shame that folks didn't take care of the cabin. The cabin is very pretty and the horses on the farm next door came right up to us for carrots. Really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to our next visit.

What an amazing stay! Such a cozy cabin and warm ambience. From cozying up inside by the fire to sipping coffee on the porch it was the relaxing stay that I so desperately needed. The porch is expansive and has extremely comfortable rockers, the bed upstairs with the soft lighting at night is romantic and relaxing, and the property was really enjoyable to walk around. The host was friendly and very responsive. I had a wonderful time with my fur babies and would definitely come back.

Kristy's cabin was amazing! It was clean, had all amenities and the location was perfect. I did not feel like I was missing anything from home. There is a beautiful hiking trail within walking distance! The scenery was beautiful. Kristy responded to my questions within a few minutes. Kristy has a binder noting the cabin information as well as places to visit and restaurant recommendations. This was so helpful. Every place we tried from the binder was great! I can't wait to book another stay!

Such a special place to stay! The cabin is wonderfully cozy and homey, with windows open we could hear birdsong every morning and gentle rains at night. Kitchen is well suited for lots of cooking, and the array of books and games was impressive. We loved hiking in the surrounding areas, and equally enjoyed being able to rest here in the evenings. Highly recommend :)

The bunkhouse is the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world and take in the quietude of the woods (but still close enough to town to shop, eat, etc). Caroline has thought of everything, lots of little touches in the place to be cozy and comfortable.
