Cottage vacation rentals in Clarklake

We were so pleased to stay at this cozy lake house. Everything was just as described. The beds were comfortable and the area was so peaceful. Dave was very kind and helpful.

Peaceful place to relax and enjoy for a long weekend. We were out and about during the daytime, but really enjoyed our evenings at the boat house. Spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the lake and watching the occasional boat go by. Had a bon fire one night which was in a perfect spot down closer to the lake. We brought a small Webber grill to cook on but used the gas grill instead which worked out nicely. Will definitely check if this place is available if I ever stay in the area again!

Great place, great price.

This cottage was so cute and thoughtfully outfitted. Super clean, recently renovated with lots of charm and character. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few dinners. It was all one level and, with the walk-in shower, it was perfect for my elderly dad. The beds were super comfy. We enjoyed eating breakfast looking out over the sunrise on the lake, and we played cards on their comfy back deck at night. It was a quick drive to hop on I-94 East or West, and only a 5 minute drive to a great grocery store, and a few minutes more to some restaurants. We had a problem with the smoke detector battery chirping and needing replacing, and the property manager had it fixed very quickly. If we were in the area again, we would definitely stay again!

This was our second year staying at Tom's place. It was once again a wonderful time. The paddle boards and kayaks were a plus, just like last year! The living area and bedrooms were very comfortable and roomy. The sunroom was our favorite hangout place. And the sunsets very beautiful. This is a place we'll come back to every year. Thank you so much for your beautiful cottage! Our family loved it. The area is so pretty-breathtaking really. The cottage is beautifully renovated and adorable. We were not able to go boating this trip, but we definitely hope to be back and to go out on the pontoon boat. There's so much more hiking we would love to do, but our family came to town to visit relatives, and celebrate our dad's 90th birthday, so our time here was focused on that. We were so glad that it was a mere 10 minutes to get to Chelsea and the assisted living where he is staying. Thank you also for the thoughtful welcome gifts! And for the use of portacrib and a few toys for our 8 month old grandson! You guys are awesome, and we hope to be back soon for another visit. Much gratitude! Lauren and Steve and family

We had the most amazing time at Will’s home. It’s exactly as described. The home is so cozy and has everything you could ever need. We cooked in and went to a few of his recommended restaurants. Will was extremely responsive from booking to departure. We hope to stay again. Perfect location and the hot tub and deck are fabulous!

Tom is a super friendly host with a lovely home. We really enjoyed the views from the cabin and the deck amenities (hot tub, string lights, grill). The porch right inside had a great sitting area and view of the lake during the day. This was also very close to a number of things, including Ann Arbor, which was really convenient.

Where do we even begin? From the moment we arrived, it felt like staying with long-lost relatives who actually like you. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful touches that screamed, ‘We’re overachievers, but in a good way.’ The hosts went above and beyond in ways that felt almost suspicious. We opened the fridge to find bubbly waiting for us (are we royalty now?), and there were chocolates on the counter like they somehow knew our love language. As if that wasn’t enough, we spent an unforgettable evening soaking in the hot tub while it snowed, overlooking the most serene lake view we’ve ever seen. It was like being in a Hallmark movie but without the small-town drama. Every detail was so thoughtful, from the cozy blankets to the recommendations that made us feel like locals. This wasn’t just a stay; it was an experience we’ll be talking about for years. If you’re considering booking, do it. Just don’t book the weekend we want to come back, okay?

The cabin was exactly as described. There were only 3 of us in our group, and we had plenty of space to move around. The kitchen area had everything we needed. Our favorite place on the property was the hot tub, deck overlooking the lake and the fire pit-- and basically ALL of the outdoor amenities. We loved sitting around the fire watching the stars.

We had a lovely stay at this amazing home! It was a great long weekend get away for our family. The home was exactly like the pictured and Shelly’s communication was fantastic. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and playing ping pong. The deer walking through the snow and the beautiful surroundings made for a very relaxing weekend! We would love to come back in warmer weather and experience this home in other seasons. Highly recommend!

We traveled to the area for a wedding and appreciated finding a very reasonably priced place to stay for the 7 of us in our group. The house was clean and owners very responsive. As other reviewers have mentioned, the signage in the neighborhood against Airbnb's made us a little nervous, but we had zero issues with neighbors and the entire time we spent at the house was quiet and peaceful. The pizza place and general store near the house were great stops for food and drinks/snacks when we arrived in town. When our daughter forgot one of her dolls at the house, Greg quickly mailed it back to us which was very appreciated. If we had to do it over again, we would have gladly stayed in the same house.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. Couldn't have asked for more. Hosts were super helpful, friendly, responsive, all around excellent. The property was great, cozy, comfortable house with plenty of space to relax, beautiful yard, and of course access to a pristine and lovely lake. If you're looking for some peace and quiet, a little bit of nature, and some time on the water, you can't do much better than this.

We loved this cabin. Real kayaks to use and are easy to access. The yard is amazing, neighbors are nice and gave us tips about the lake. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. The house itself is incredibly clean and cozy, and has all the things you need. I read some previous reviews about the water; I can see why it’s surprising to people who have only had city water, but I think it’s pretty typical well water and is fine to use and drink. The owner also provided bottled water.

Great stay. Had an issue with water, but Maxine got it fixed asap and was super responsive. The lake was a little bit of a walk, but there is a golf cart you could rent it needed. The cottage was very clean and everything was labeled very well! Thank you again for your hospitality.

The house was quaint & cozy. The yard is large and the lake is really close. We were able to use their dock which was great! The boat launch was just a convenient 5 min walk from the house. The house was fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay and the neighbors were all friendly. The host was very responsive with communication. We would definitely recommend this rental, we had a great time.

Nice cottage lake place, remote enough to feel “away” but only 15 min from the interstate and stores. Would recommend!

This is one of the most well-appointed Airbnbs I have every stayed in, especially for someone who loves to cook! It was also very family friendly, as we had a one year old in tow. It is right on the lake and the view is so peaceful and blue. We came in cold weather so did not experience the water or the busy season, but it was perfect all the same. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was very clean. Everything - furniture, appliances, etc. - were spotless and in good working order. There were spots to store things, so even though there were six of us (including a baby!) it never felt cluttered or messy. Lots of games provided and the attached all season porch was nice for reading or winding down at the end of the day. 11/10 stars!!!

We were able to find the location easily by following the directions provided. Easy access and not too far from Hillsdale College, which is why we were in town, for Parents Weekend. We were busy and gone most of the time, but we slept well on the comfortable bed, appreciated the charger setup by the bed for all our devices, and also appreciated how well-stocked the bathroom is (in the cabinet). Nice and warm once we turned up the heat. It was freezing outside, and we are not accustomed to MI cold weather, but the place stayed cozy warm for us. Very nice laundry area also. Thanks for the nice stay!
