I had such a peaceful stay. The place was very clean and tranquil. A perfect get away. Thank you Bonolo and Thembalam for the hospitality.

A gorgeous location on a nature reserve with amazing sunrises and sunsets and the occasional spotting of game like Baboons and Zebra. Spacious accommodation with plenty of room to relax inside or out. Though rather spartan, it provides ample space and a great stove/oven for self-catering. Very quiet and relaxing and a great place for contemplation. Would be excellent for a family or group. I felt quite safe and relaxed. I would definitely come again.

Tanja's cabins were peaceful and private along the river and were well stocked with kitchen supplies. Everyone was very attentive to our needs. While there are several other cabins each felt as if we were all by ourselves. The rivers edge is walkable and fishable with many different water birds and we even saw an otter and kudu. This is a gem of a place (thw caretakers as well) and I highly recommend!

We stayed with three couples at Ibis River Retreat and had two cottages. Both cottages were super private, have their own private jacuzzi, which we enjoyed a lot. We had a lovely Braai in the evening and took a nice walk down to the river in the morning. We also booked a couples massage down at the Pool, which we would 100% recommend! Already one night felt like a full holiday and we felt absolutely rested and will definitely come back next time we’re in South Africa! Especially being so close to Johannesburg Airport (50 minutes drive), but still feeling like out in the wild surprised me very positively!

What a peaceful, beautiful and generous space. We had such a restorative, blissful, intimate time hanging out in this space for a weekend. Alan and his staff made us feel so welcome and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our weekend. It was so relaxing to chill in the hammock and watch all the birds and squirrels. Place was well equipped with no less than 3 places to braai. Great location in the quieter part of the reserve but still close enough to the shops and restaurants. Was a bit cold for us to use the pool but we'll be back!

It is a homey, cosy and spacious place with a polite host. The Grumpy Old Man is quite welcoming. I only spent one night, but it was peaceful and quiet with a nice view from the kitchen. The decor is not fancy, but that actually made it feel more relaxed and like home. Woke up to nice bird sounds in the morning. Internet was great and the place is loadshedding proof with solar power.

Though we only stayed one night at Tracey's place, it was a pleasure to stay and we didn't want to leave so soon. The beds were incredibly comfortable!! The place has everything a large group would need with some nice homely touches. Thanks very much, will stay again!

We had an amazing stay!!!! We were a large group and the accommodation was so satisfying for all of us The big stand out was Ben the grounds keeper! He made sure we were well welcomed and looked after us throughout our stay. He made sure we had everything we needed and even made sure to keep an eye out for us late at night when we returned from a night out! A massive thank you to Ben !

Stephanie has been an exceptionally generous and caring host during my 3-week stay. The comfortable little studio is much nicer than the picture suggests. It is separate from the rest of the house, which has all the amenities for an enjoyable stay. Using Uber taxis or the Gautrain at Hatfield takes you to Pretoria central and beyond in 15 minutes. Highly recommended.

I needed a place to go where I can hide away from everyone and just have a weekend out and this was the ideal place to do that, no fuss no drama just clean spaces and peace and quiet.

We had a wonderful stay at Nancy’s guest house. The place is beautiful, peaceful and in a very secure area. Nancy was a wonderful host, very responsive. She even waited for us though we arrived way past checkin time. She also allowed us to check out at 12pm. I greatly recommend!

I needed to go and do biometrics for a visa application and I found Joret's place to be close by. When I got confused with directions because of the closed road, Joret was very responsive when I called and she guided me on how to get to the guesthouse. Someone was there to open for me and lead me to my room. I liked that I had a kitchen area and bathroom to myself! The room was very clean and the area was quiet so I got peaceful rest after my bus ride from Botswana. The next morning at check-out I got to meet Joret. She was very friendly and so accommodating. When she heard I was taking the bus to go back home, she offered me to take a book from her library to read on my journey. This was such a nice gesture and I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed my book. This was such a great place with a great and lovely host, I would definitely go back again!

Located in a very peaceful and calm neighbourhood. My family and I loved the cottage. We were looking for something where we could have the option to have a home cooked meal and we were not disappointed. All major cooking utensils were provided for. The cottage was true to its description and pictures. The Host, Toy is very welcoming and friendly too!

Mpho's place was a great find for our trip. The location was beautiful, peaceful and accommodated our getaway. Mpho is an amazing communicator and went extra mile in ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it.

Marcelle and Fritz are sure super hosts. Fritz was waiting to welcome me at the gate. I felt at home and in love with the property before getting inside. I would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the beauty and hospitality. My room was more beautiful, homely, and better than pictures and words can capture. I sure will be back.

Waybury Cottage was perfect for our three and a half week stay. Private entrance and driveway and very secure off a boomed road. Felt very rural with chickens and guinea foul in the large garden!. Perfectly located for Sandton, Hyde Park, Fourways and Monte Casino. Shane is a wonderful host. No hesitation in recommending the cottage.
