Beachfront vacation rentals in Chippewa County

This was our third year at the Captain’s cabin. The cabin is right on the water which is a long sandbar perfect for kids or pets. The public boat ramp is a short walk away and perfectly maintained. St. Ignace is close by as are Sault Ste. Marie and other attractions. Unlike many rentals, the cabin has absolutely everything a visitor would need in the kitchen. Moreover, our dog is not just allowed but welcomed. Highly recommend!

The bonfire at this house is truly amazing! In the early morning, you'll be gently awakened by the pleasant sound of wind chimes. The room's décor has a cozy cabin feel to it. It’s definitely spacious enough for five people, and we stayed here very comfortably.

Mark took a chance on 6 19 year olds and welcomed us just like any others. He was very polite and helpful, and he was always proactive in taking care of all of us. Cabin was as described and very clean. Mark supplied almost anything you can think of. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be coming back.

GREAT is an understatement! Breathtaking views of the St. Mary's River and I'd think a photographer, wildlife enthusiast, or artist would really really love to be back there. I'd like to come back with just 1 other person or a couple and really relax and enjoy the place. We were road running alot for our hobbies and barely felt like we got to enjoy it like we should have. The setting is beyond serene, freighters passing by, nice beach with wildlife and walking, birds, and tranquility.

Melody Cottage was the perfect spot for our little Spring Break Getaway, the window view of the lake was the most favorite part!

My daughter and her husband said they loved the lake access. Hosts made sure parking was available for our group. My husband enjoyed being able to fish by only walking a bit. Would recommend if looking for some place to enjoy by the lakeside.

The house was clean and spacious with a beautiful view. Sunsets over the lake and watching ships sail by were highlights. The wrap around deck was great for relaxing while watching the kids play on the beach and jump the waves. Perfectly located to do day trips to the Soo Locks and Mackinac Island. Restaurants/bakery in town were awesome too!! I would highly recommend staying!!

this was great - exactly as promised. host was super responsive, and having the hotel staff to coordinate with was super helpful. the pool and hot tub shared with the hotel was great too!!

This house was absolutely wonderful, and the location is priceless. The views from the house and lake are spectacular. The house had everything our family of five needed. There were plenty of comfortable places to sit as a family and enjoy the fun board games the host provided, and the bedrooms were perfect. The downtown is a short drive away but far enough away that one can enjoy the peacefulness of the house and its surroundings. We will definitely return to this place in the future.

This was everything we needed to rejuvenate. The cooking supplies were excellent. The view of the lake was wonderful and the ability to have bonfires was also a wonderful asset. Highly recommend this site!

Our family loved spending our vacation here. The house was clean and comfy. The sunroom was a great place to hang out when not on the beach. Great, easy access to the beach with rocks nearby to collect. Convenient to other locations like the falls and Soo locks. Loved seeing the freighters from sunroom and beach. Information was appreciated about local sites and stores. We will be back for another summer vacation!!

This house was perfect for my family. The location was close to restaurants and the ferry to Mackinac island. Great communication and would rent the home again

Trestin was an outstanding host. He was knowledgeable about the activity our vacation was built around, and gave us perfect tips for timing, parking, and planning. When our vacation took an unexpected and unfortunate turn right at the end, he extended his hand to offer help was able to assist us in figuring out what needed to be done. We would reserve with him again upon our next visit.

My wife and I booked this rental for a 30th Wedding Anniversary getaway and to see the fall colors. This is a great house in a great location. It is very well stocked with everything one would need. Our favorite part of the house was the breezeway with the table where we would eat and had a great view of Whitefish Bay while doing so. There was even a pair of binoculars there to see the freighters out in the bay. We made several day trips during the week visiting many State Parks and looked forward to returning to grill our supper. We had an issue related to a storm that came through early in our stay. After contacting Brooke, she made arrangements to get a repair made and it happened promptly. Brooke kept in contact with us to make sure everything was fixed. She is a great host of this wonderful property. We had a delightful time during our stay and hated to leave when the week was done. We highly recommend this great property that has a great host. We absolutely love staying here! The house is very clean and has all of the amenities of home. The beach is beautiful and you can’t beat the sunrises! This was our second time staying here and we’ll be back next year!

Lisa was a very responsive host. We had everything we needed for a family of 4 with 4 separate bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a mudroom with laundry. We easily could have had twice as many guests and still felt comfortable. The best part about this place is the privacy, seclusion, and beach along Lake Michigan just steps away. The views of lake Michigan were incredible and 3 of the 4 bedrooms and living room all had amazing window views of the lake especially waking up in the morning. While the weather was a little cool during our stay, we still enjoyed hanging out on the beach and had a latenight campfire. We are already planning another trip back during warmer summer months. We also enjoyed fishing at nearby Brevort Lake and caught a ton of perch and even some smallmouth bass and walleye. We also made a day trip to Mackinac Island and the ferry in St. Ignace was only a short 20 minute drive away. This spot was perfect for our Memorial Day long weekend family getaway.

We had a great stay with our family the week before Labor Day! The house was homey and comfortable, even without air conditioning, which I realized after booking. Luckily, with the windows open, the temperature never went above 72 degrees, and we remained perfectly comfortable throughout. The location is peaceful, though the beach is mucky and not the best for swimming. However, we enjoyed using the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, which added a lot of fun to our stay. One note for taller guests: I’m 6’5” and found myself hitting my head on the low door jambs in the northern wing of the house nearly every day. We did note a few minor issues privately after our stay, like the grill catching fire due to greasy flavorizer bars and a lightbulb in the sunroom breaking off in our hands. Hopefully, those will be addressed for future guests. Despite these, we’d definitely stay again!

If you enjoy a peaceful place by the lake away from all the traffic this is a great place. 5-10 minutes from St. Ignace and Mackinaw City.

The home was very private and the lake view was astonishingly beautiful. We had a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 children) staying in the house for two nights and it was generally comfortable. We spent some time on the private beach and but did not get into the water. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to find pretty much anything we needed there. There is a gas grill in the backyard that I tried to use but it was very slow to heat up so we ended up using the oven instead. There is fire pit but firewood was not provided and so we had to get some from outside. Our overall experience was positive and would like to stay here again in the future

Great place to stay right on the lake. Beautiful views from the home. We stayed in the winter, but it was still very pretty to look out. The house was clean and as described in the listing. Great communication!

Kathy’s lake cottage is beautiful! Our extended family of twelve enjoyed our week and this was a perfect amount of space - both in terms of areas to socialize and in private space with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms! The deck was amazing!
