Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Chaffee County

Jake’s place was lovely, new, and spotless. It had beautiful views of the mountains from the front of the house and from the back of the house. It had everything we needed for a girls week away. We loved that they had extra pillows and blankets on the beds as it was cold in the evenings. It was close to downtown BV as well as Mt Princeton resort.

Husband, myself and 3 kids all loved staying here! First of all, the views are just beautiful. The house is so cute and cozy and set up perfect for a small family. The alpacas, goats and chickens are just so fun. We really enjoyed spending time outside with them. The property is amazing! We loved the yard games and the fresh mountain streams. The little towns near by are so fun to explore as well with great shopping and places to eat. We definitely want to come back again in the near future.

We had a wonderful stay! Very clean and spacious house with all the amenities you could ask for! The hospitality was wonderful with fantastic suggestions for things to do and restaurants in the area. All of the kids loved playing outside and in the basement area. All of the amenities for our infant were there waiting for us when we arrived, which was amazing. The house is a great center point between Denver and the Great Sand Dunes. We will definitely be back!

The fixtures, floors and appliances were among the nicest we have had in any Air B&B over the last 10 years. It is an easy walk to stores and restaurants downtown. There are many great hikes and river adventures available with a short drive. Just west of town are the Collegiate Peaks, a series of peaks >14,000 ft which make for spectacular views. This was a great base for excellent adventures.

Beautifully architected and well-constructed home with lots of natural light. Awesome custom wood cabinets and interior doors. Splendid views from inside and outside on the wide deck! Well-equipped with pots, pans, plenty of table settings, paper products, etc. Easy to get to Monarch Mountain. Salida close by. Yet quiet and very peaceful with a small stream on the property. We had a most enjoyable stay!

Milly's place was clean, spacious and homey. Milly was friendly and accommodating. We used the kitchen for simple cooking, and enjoyed remote working in the garden and the livingroom. 10 min walking to a grocery store and multiple small parks within driving distance. 10 min driving to two hot springs . Highly recommended!

This was a great little spot tucked away on a side street just a couple blocks from town. We walked into town every night. Very cozy, comfortable beds. We had a wonderful time

Great place to stay. Close enough to walk to the Main Street and river. More than enough space for everyone in our group. Check in was simple and the host was very responsive.

It was a wonderful home! We enjoyed the stay alot! It is definitely as described, a cozy rest stop, but not really a place to spend all day.

Perfect place to stay if you’re spending your days exploring the town and want a private place to sleep. Easy access to town, full kitchen and plenty of towels/blankets available. We had perfect weather to sit outside for breakfast and dinner. We hope to book again next year

It's my second time staying here. Wonderful place with great location and a management team of Mishea and Co. that are very responsive, helpful and communicative. Fantastic airbnb I'll always check it out everything I'm in the Arkansas valley.

Very comfortable apartment with everything we needed! The location is central to everything - the river, great restaurants, and we could see the mountains from bed. My husband had the best sleep the entire trip while we were here, it was very comfortable. The hotel was clean and very quiet, we didn't see or hear anyone else during our stay. We'd love to return to town and would stay here again!

The place was perfect for us. It was conveniently located tight next to where a family member worked at a white water rafting place. Close to a few places to walk to. As well as stunning views from the front yard. We will definitely stay here again.

10/10 for this Airbnb. We had our dog and our 2 year old. We absolutely loved exploring the farm. Proximity to hiking and downtown Salida was unbeatable. Would highly recommend - spend every night sitting outside reading and looking at the starry night.

We enjoyed our stay at Hunter's place. The location was perfect, we walked to all of the shops and restaurants nearby without having to drive once. It was great stay for a weekend getaway.

We stayed here a couple of years ago, so we were familiar with the unit and surroundings. It's in an excellent location, bright and comfortable inside, and fairly priced. We'll stay here again if it's available on our next trip.

The condo is very nice and looks like the pictures, it's got modern styling, but it's comfortable. The bed I slept in was very comfortable. The location is so nice for downtown Salida, you could park behind the unit and never have to get in your car again, unfortunately we had a bunch of stuff on the outskirts of town so we ended up driving a lot anyway. Sierra was super friendly, we ran into her at the boathouse and she actually recognized me and she was so friendly. If I had to complain I'd say the stairs from the back parking spot to the bedrooms were more than I expected and I was lugging a baby with me unloading the car, but really not that bad.

Great location!! Very clean! Some slow response time over messaging but technology can sometimes be the problem. Thinner walls between units so some evenings were quite loud.

We took our 4-month old on his first road trip and picked BV because of its outdoor access and small town feel. Tracy’s place was perfect for us - ground floor, clean, walkable to both Main St and South Main St, and included baby/kid essentials. She was a great host - responsive, helpful, and proactive. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We absolutely loved our stay at this incredible historic property in Buena Vista! The location is unbeatable—right on Main Street with easy access to shops, restaurants, and everything the town has to offer. The home itself is beautifully restored and full of artistic touches that give it so much character. It’s clear that a lot of care went into every detail, from the unique artwork to the towel warmers and heated bathroom floors. The space was not only stylish but also extremely comfortable and well-appointed. We especially appreciated the thoughtful local suggestions provided—one of which led us to the amazing takeaway food store right next door, run by the sweetest owners and serving some of the best food we had on our trip. In fact, we loved the Airbnb so much, we decided to stay in for dinner just to soak it all in. Johnny, the host, was fantastic—super detailed and incredibly responsive. It truly felt like everything had been thought of, and we couldn’t come up w any improveme
