Chalet vacation rentals in Central Otago

Wanted a private oasis outside of the busy city for a night, and we were not disappointed! Loved getting to know their adorable pet sheep, also loved the charming decorations, modern & clean housewares (specifically the kitchen and bathroom) and it was very sunny through the day and heated very well with heat pumps (one in the bedroom and one in the living space) in the evening. Highly recommend for any couples wanting a bit of nature, privacy, and a cosy luxurious stay :) Thanks Sheena and Duncan!

The best part is the view!! Absolutely stunning to wake up and see that view of the Wānaka hillsides. We also really enjoyed the outdoor bath, which was private and peaceful! Great host recommendations, thoughtful touches, and fun decor! Things to note: I found it a little unique that the only sink was in the bathroom - so keep that in mind if you plan on enjoying meals there. Other reviews mention the stairs to get up to the space. I wouldn’t recommend if you have a hard time walking uphill/downhill or feel uncomfortable driving a bit up a hill on a winding road. It totally suited our needs and we enjoyed the privacy, views, and wow factor. I would definitely recommend staying if you’re looking for a little slice of heaven 5 minutes driving from town.

Michelle and her partner were fantastic. Always happy to cater to our needs and responded timely to all enquiries. The area offers the seclusion and privacy for a romantic getaway. Lots of stars at night and golden silence to sleep well after a day full of adventures in Queenstown. Lucky to find such a place. Thank you Michelle!

This is our second stay at Rachel’s place. We love staying here . It is very clean and the real fire is lovely after a days skiing . We will definitely be back .

Megan is a lovely host, very responsive and answered all my questions. This is a must stay cabin, views are breathtaking, place is immaculate, its a lot bigger than you think and never did we feel it was too small. we had all the amenities we needed during our stay and wifi is provided. be mindful there is no stove available but there is a Webber BBQ. If you love landscape and astrophotography this is your stay. location is about 10min drive into ain't centre and roads are very quiet. there's also a big mountain right at the doorstep you can hike up. this has been our favourite airbnb stay to date.

The scenic view overlooking Lake Wakatipu was breathtaking. Nice showers, plenty of blankets and a log fire made a comfortable stay. Thank you Geoff

The chalet is well located, it's a quiet and peaceful place. It's about 10 minutes walk from the Wanaka tree and about 25 minutes walk from downtown. The hosts have been responsive and attentive to our needs. We had a lovely time. Thank you so much.

We stayed here for a few days on either side of our helicopter wedding based out of Queenstown. The Goldleaf Chalet was an incredible place to stay and make a special time in our lives feel very special indeed. Practically every window has stunning views, and the spa was so relaxing to sit in and watch the clouds go by. The house is well equipped and so pleasant to be in. I definitely teared up as we left at check out. We'll never forgot our stay here 🥰
