Farmstay vacation rentals in Central America

We have stayed at some really nice Airbnbs in the past, but this place exceeded our expectations in every way. The grounds, the house and the staff are absolutely incredible. We are already looking at dates to book another dedicated trip to this house. If the house is available for your travel dates, consider yourself lucky. I'm afraid the secret is out!

A beautiful place, super well-kept gardens, very nice service

We live in Costa Rica, and even so, this was a magical escape for us. Our 8 and 10 year olds loved the horseback ride, waterfall hike, and mangrove tours. One of our favorite trips ever!

It sounds cliched but the best word to describe Maria’s place is magical. The cabins are clean and comfortable, surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Maria was continually available to answer questions, make recommendations or just make sure you were enjoying your stay. This was a wonderful experience and we’ll definitely be back!

When we first checked in we were immediately dismayed by one of the beds because it was so loud with any movement. There also was no longer a bunk bed, which our kids had been looking forward to. There was no hot water to the kitchen sink (or bathroom sinks), which made washing dishes less than ideal. Even with those issues, our multi-generational group of 8 loved our stay. The property is simply amazing; being right on the edge of the jungle means there are so many birds and animals moving through...we always woke up early and just spent the first couple of hours outside walking around and seeing what we could see. I would recommend it, and go back again...provided the one bed had been replaced.

This little house is a dream, it was just what we needed to renew energies, in the middle of an estate with beautiful views and a beautiful garden. The design makes you fall in love, every detail makes you feel at home, in addition to this full equipped and even has a gas grill. I can't stop mentioning Oso the guide dog who accompanied us while we walked through the estate and Doña Merari who was very friendly and always attentive to our needs as well as Doña Vera. I would be back with my family without thinking about it.

Gorgeous location and stay! Rosa was always so attentive to my needs and very communicative! Only downside is that you are about 30 minutes away from Antigua and there is not much happening in the village.

It's our second time in Santa Maria and our vacation is certainly great! Don Chepito is always attentive and ready to help. The tranquility you feel on the property is incredible, relaxing… simply spectacular. We hope to return soon !

Very beautiful place and property! The views are stunning everywhere you look. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote stay, this is it! Given its remoteness and surrounding road conditions, highly recommend a 4x4 and comfortable vehicle, along with groceries for a couple days. Diego + Christina were very responsive and provided great suggestions of things to do and see around the area and property. Don’t snooze on horseback riding with Hilario right on the property - it’s amazing and the views are very beautiful!

ENCHANTING. We have stayed at many great air bnbs and this one takes the cake. Tucked away in the mountains, gorgeous landscape with breathtaking views. I will absolutely take the memories shared here with my family for the rest of my life. Nelson was so helpful and communicative. Waking up to the animals grazing and the cutest little pup made it all the more amazing.

Cutest tiny home. Picturesque in the afternoon sunlight when we arrived and a very convenient drive from anywhere you’d want to see in Monteverde. We had fresh farm eggs and dinner made on the farm. Incredible experience waking up to the sunrise and beautiful mountain top to valley views.

We were in casa 1. The little one bed room house was charming and well equipped. The place was comfortable and clean and the kitchen was very functional. The surrounding garden and pond was very peaceful and full of ducks, turtles, and birds! There’s no issue with location since we had a car, about 45 minutes to Arenal and other major attractions.

Clean place with a fantastic view. Exactly as advertised. We really enjoyed watching the sunset and reading from the hammock. It is life in the campagna so expect some ants if you leave food out. All in all, would highly recommend! 5/5!

This was by far one of our absolute favorites!! We booked last min for just an overnight visit and was sad to leave. We could have easily spent our entire vacation there. The cabin was spotless, had comfy beds, gorgeous gardens and wildlife all around. Rick was super responsive to all of my questions and even shared some photos of the toucans prior to even arriving. Thank you so much for making my mom’s visit even better than she could have imagined. We can’t wait to come back and visit.

No words can express how amazing this place was! We stayed in a beautiful cottage on top of a ridge that was spacious, comfortable, and downright magical. Any time I need some peace and serenity, I will return—hopefully again and again!

This place is fantastic. Big and spacious. Peaceful and quiet. We had hoped for lots of birds and more wildlife, but that was practically nonexistent. The place is fairly close to Santa Maria, which offers everything you would need for supplies and some great restaurants. If you are a larger group, this is the perfect place. Especially if you have kids. The soccer field was awesome. We would stay here again, and Gustavo and his group of helpers were very responsive and on top of everything! Thanks for helping make our stay wonderful.

Ernesto's house is an oasis of tranquility. It is located in a coffee plantation on a small hill and the nearest neighbors are far away. From the fantastically beautiful terrace with many cozy seating, you have a breathtakingly beautiful view of the small village of Turrialba and the surrounding volcanoes when they are not hiding in the clouds. The house is super modernly designed and furnished, has very comfortable beds and in the kitchen there is really everything you need. We were picked up at the house by Explornatura in the morning and had a gigantic rafting tour on the beautiful and exciting Rio Pacuare. Our guide Jose-Luis safely guided us through all the rapids, prepared great food by the river, and told countless interesting things about the nature and the Indigena of the area. Don't miss it! We had a perfect weekend at Ernesto's house and will be back!

Wonderful very quiet and safe location! Oscar was an amazing host and was very responsive when we had questions. The villa is on a family ranch so lots of animals, the view was breathtaking! I would come back without hesitation!

The house was clean and adorable. Very pretty area. The road to get there was very rough and it would've been helpful to know that the property was inside a closed gate and to park right inside the gate instead of driving right up to the house. We greatly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable otherwise. Thank you !

Great space, wonderful views and the grounds were beautiful with all the flowers. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the beds were nice and cozy. Stopped there as a half way point to the Caribbean coast. Was a tad difficult finding, but it was in the dark and once we got to Aquarius and looked at the pictures we got there no problem. Host was responsive. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house.

Had a great stay with Bart! Great guy, I’d strongly suggest spending some time with him, and take part in some of his side work. I went to several festivals with him selling flavored ice, awesome to experience the different cultures, from a Mennonite rodeo, to a tilapia festival in creole country, couple La Ruda Maya events! Great eggs, something about the frying pan, but boy were they good. Nothing special about the rental, simple, but very entertaining watching the wildlife, and chickens on the back deck, watch your roommates fly out of the eaves, and comeback in the morning! Take buddy for a walk every morning, but watch Rexy, he’ll try and give you a smooch! I loved my stay there, and would definitely do it again, but you gotta be an outdoor camping type! You’re not at the Hilton! Barb was in the states, so I didn’t personally see her long, but she always returns text, and checks in on you regularly. Quiet, and comfortable for my type of person! Enjoy, and relax!!

That was the perfect air bnb. The house is amazing, very private and clean, great view, great fresh air, Laura was very responsive and welcoming. Would definitely be back 🙏🏼 Highly recommended !!!
