Ines and her mother looked after us incredibly well during our stay. We were welcomed to the property by the friendly face of Ines' mother and she showed us around all of the property and grounds. Once we had the tour and knew where everything was, the hosts vacated the property and left us in privacy. The property is stunning and the pictures truly do not do it justice. The pool was a sun trap, the grounds we beautiful, we even forgot to buy lemons for cocktails but the property even has a lemon and orange tree to solve our problem. There is nothing that this property doesn't have. If it's not there, you don't need it. Thank you so much to everyone at Quinta de Gatao for looking after us. We will be back for sure.

Abi and Regina are exceptional hosts who made our stay memorable. We especially enjoyed the tour of the animation museum by Abi which was fascinating The property is very lovely, the flower and vegetable gardens are incredible and the whole ambience is very relaxing. A perfect place to stay for several days. We thoroughly recommend staying here and look forward to returning

This place ought to be officially recognized as a national treasure! The house and grounds are full of historic charm and the scenery is spectacular. The farm fresh breakfast was truly impressive and the hospitality was top notch. We stayed for two nights but would have been very happy to have stayed for an entire week if our schedule had allowed for it. Many thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful guest house and for the warm welcome and great sightseeing tips. It was the highlight of our trip from Canada.

Beautiful farm and house! Being able to wander the farm and pick fresh produce to cook was a highlight. If you’re looking to stay out in the country visiting Amarante, this is wonderful!

O espaço é muito aprazível, constituido por casas rústicas numa quinta no meio da natureza num ambiente de tranquilidade perfeitos para quem gosta de relaxar longe da confusão das grandes cidades. um ótimo pequeno-almoço, uma piscina maravilhosa com vistas excelentes, um rio à mão de semear, percursos para caminhadas à beira rio, bons vinhos, etc... A fabulous place to stay, even though nearby houses, it felt very private and peaceful. The house & pool had beautiful views, the bed was very comfortable. Thank you

Excellent séjour ! Leonel est un hôte charmant et attentif au bien-être de ses locataires. La maison est agréable, confortable et bien équipée. Elle est située dans un hameau très calme avec une vue magnifique sur toute la vallée. Il faut aimer la campagne, les chats et les chiens. Un petit réservoir à l'arrière de la maison sert de piscine naturelle pendant l'été. L'altitude permet des nuits fraîches. Location d'une voiture indispensable pour arriver chez Leonel et rayonner dans la région qui est magnifique. Je recommande sans hésitation cette location aux gens qui cherchent à passer des vacances tranquilles au coeur du Haut Douro dans un cadre authentique loin du tourisme de masse. Merci Leonel :-)

A casa é maravilhosa, em uma vizinhança encantadora e rodeada por muita natureza. Aproveitamos trilhas incríveis e caminhamos cerca de 20km em dois dias. A hospitalidade do Manuel foi impecável, sempre presente e atencioso, com ótimas recomendações e suporte. Um dos melhores anfitriões que já tive. Agradeço pela empatia e cuidado.

A Inês foi uma anfitriã exemplar, sempre disponível e atenciosa, e a Dona Doras merece também um agradecimento especial pela ajuda tão pronta e amável. Our stay at the Lemon Farm was nothing short of unforgettable. Nestled just outside Porto, this peaceful retreat offered the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and charm. The setting was serene and full of character—from the citrus trees to the rustic elegance of the property. But what truly made our visit special were the horses. Their calm presence and gentle nature added something truly meaningful to our experience. Whether we were watching them graze at sunset or simply being near them, they brought a sense of grounding and peace we didn’t expect but deeply appreciated.

Sencillo, fácil, limpio, buena comunicación y tranquilidad. 10/10 recomendable.

This home is absolutely beautiful, we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everything we could possibly need was there, from a fully equipped kitchen to thoughtful touches throughout the house and garden. It was spotless, and we especially appreciated the fresh citrus and eggs from the birds next to the property waiting for us. Carolina and her husband are exceptional hosts, warm, generous, and incredibly helpful. All their recommendations were perfect. Do note that a car is essential, and confident driving is a must in the area. The game room with the pool table was a great bonus, especially on rainy days. The nature, the views, and the garden were all stunning. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Nous avons passé un séjour mémorable chez Florbela et son mari José. Le lieu est privé et calme. La piscine est à notre entière disposition. Les hôtes sont chaleureux et ont mis plusieurs petites attentions à notre disposition. Nous avons même pu déguster de leur vin et porto. Chaque chambre possède son propre air climatisé de même que l’espace central. Un gros plus ! Nous recommandons cet hébergement!

La communication avec Paulo a été très fluide, nous avons reçu un très bel accueil, il a été très sympathique, nous a donné les bonnes adresses autour. La maison est fidèle aux photos et la vue est à couper le souffle. Tout l’équipement nécessaire est disponible, cafetière, casseroles, draps piscine, clim hyper agréable par cette période et chambres hyper grandes et agréable. Nous avons dîné deux fois dans leur restaurant juste en bas, je vous le recommande, c’était vraiment très bon! Rapport qualité / prix parfait! Nous y retournerons sans problèmes!

Uma excelente experiência, lugar muito acolhedor para quem quiser descansar, ver séries e entretenimento com o projetor e relaxar com o seu parceiro. Tinha as amenities necessárias para uma estadia, podendo destacar ainda a pequena toalha de rosto, que poucos AL têm. Vimos os cavalos, o cãozinho e um lindo entorno verde com flores amarelas, sem dúvidas tem uma vista muito bonita da janela. Foi bastante tranquilo e de manhã é bonito ouvir os passaros a cantar. A cabana é pequena mas acolhedora, tem AC e arrefece rápido o ambiente dentro, o que é excelente em épocas com mais calor. Alguns pontos a melhorar já foram falados à host. Pedimos o menu de pequeno-almoço, com panquecas, e pelo preço, para 2 pessoas, está muito bom, entrega fácil e puntual, super recomendo! Sem dúvida voltaremos numa próxima! 👏🏽 Obrigada!!

I spent a glorious month at Maria Celeste’s home. It was simply the best place to reset, connect with nature & rest. I’ve never been to a more peaceful home. Freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees) every morning. Lemons for water. A natural spring to swim off hiking grime. Mountains to climb surrounding the entire home. Lizard & butterfly friends. And so so quiet. Maria Celeste picked me up & drove me to the location. Taxi services available to go to town when needed. I can not recommend staying at this home more. If you need some R’n’R, stay. You won’t regret it.

Sitio calmo e relaxante. Passamos um fim de semana muito bom na casa Alambique com acesso a piscina. Fizemos um passeio a cavalo que gostamos muito. Tbm usamos o campo de padel. Comunicação facil com a host Georgina, sempre muito acessivel. obrigado!

Nous avons vécu quelques jours dans un véritable havre de paix. Passé les aspects, disons étonnant, du chemin d'accès au logement, nous avons été charmé par l'accueil de nos hôtes, Lise et Patrick. Les chiens sont très affectueux et calmes. Les chevaux ne sont pas en reste non plus (et un peu farceurs). L'accès totalement libre aux espaces verts, à la piscine, à l'espace barbecue est un plus indéniable. Amoureux de la nature et de la paix, ne cherchez pas plus loin votre logement. En outre, logé dans ce milieu naturel, vous aurez tout le loisir de partir à la découverte de la nature environnante, à pied ou en voiture. Nous avons passé un bon séjour à la Quinta. Pourrons nous y revenir un jour ...

Was een heel fijne, rustige en vooral mooie locatie. Weg van de drukte, maar toch niet ver als je iets nodig hebt. En Silvio was heel vriendelijk en gastvrij. Een heel goed verblijf gehad!

nous avons passé une semaine très agréable chez ana paula..l environnement est magnifique et très calme...pourtant il est très facile d'accéder aux routes menant dans la vallée du Douro ou vers Porto. la maison est spacieuse. ana Paula est toujours à l écoute, sans être intrusive. nous sommes ravis de notre semaine.

Todo perfecto, el alojamiento es tal y como se muestra en las fotos. Es una casa muy comoda en una zona muy tranquila y agradable, ideal para un viaje en familia. Angelo estuvo muy pendiente de que todo estuviera funcionando bien y fue muy amable en todo momento.

A Sara é a melhor anfitriã de sempre! É super profissional e está sempre disposta a ajudar. O Sr. Carlos que nos recebeu foi também muito simpático e prestável. A casa é incrível, e como está no meio da natureza, só se ouvem os passarinhos, por isso, é o local ideal para descontrair. É o segundo ano que ficamos aqui, e temos sempre vontade de voltar.

Casa muito bonita, com um jardim muito colorido e uma vista impressionante. Os anfitriões muito simpaticos e disponiveis para o que fosse preciso. Uma recepcao com um bolinho e uma limonada mesmo a calhar.
