The property matched the description provided, though the photographs give the impression of a larger space. Nevertheless, it perfectly met our requirements. Chris was exceptionally responsive to our inquiries, addressing various questions we had. The area was clean and filled with ample natural light. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding land for play, as well as the small game room stocked with toys, which was a welcome respite during a particularly rainy and windy day. The on-site washing machine was available for free use, and the washing line proved to be quite useful. Although the outdoor pool was not heated, it did not deter my children from taking a dip and having fun. I would certainly consider staying at this property again.

Matt and Chloe were great hosts, communicative and helpful. The house was lovely, modern, private and set amongst the trees. There was a great welcome basket waiting for us with visitor information, scones, jam and clotted cream, tea, milk in the fridge. The bathroom was great, with a good power shower. The beds were very comfortable with lovely bed linen. The weather was not so good but we did manage to use the pool, which was clean and a nice temperature. We visited: Port Isaac, Padstow, Rock, Bodmin jail. A great place to stay, we would not hesitate to book again in the future.

A great house for a family birthday celebration . The open plan living area with huge windows was perfect . Quite a hill to walk up from town but that is true of most houses in Salcombe!! We had a wonderful few days there over New Year

Lovely secluded spot in Cornwall, easy driving to National Trust, beaches, and other walks. Well kitted out for young children too. Sally was really helpful whenever I communicated with her, would definitely stay again.

Everything about this air bnb is fantastic! We slept with the blinds open every night purely to wake to that view. The interior has been thoughtfully put together and has everything you could possibly need, we had family visit and were able to cook for 4 adults and 3 kids and still had spare crockery and cutlery!!! Our hosts were helpful and absolutely lovely. I wish I could live at Pear Tree!

We didn't spend alot of time there, due to the activities we had planned, but very comfortable and accommodating. Would stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely be back! The house was perfect for us all and we had loads of space. The kids loved the pool table! Great house, so well stocked we had all we needed. The surrounding area is beautiful and the beach is lovely with great places to eat and little beach shop which came in very handy when the kids all needed beach shoes! Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful. The only thing I would say is that the house is advertised as a “Lodge with hot tub” but you have to pay extra for the hot tub which I think could have been made clearer, not other than that absolutely no complaints at all. We had the most amazing week with our 4 boys at The Old Guard in May. We have been renting various properties in Hope Cove for many years. Wendy's property is now our absolute favourite!! Not only did we have fabulous weather but the location is just perfect for getting out on the kayaks etc The warm outdoor shower is brilliant for when you get back! The balcony is very large and a great space! The views from the balcony are spectacular and the sunsets incredible. The kitchen had everything you need. They utility area with washer and dryer is very useful staying with a family. The property was really well designed & clean and comfortable to stay in. Wendy had said the parking would be tight, but we got our 2 vehicles in no problem just a bit of time to go back and forth and one is a long wheelbase Mercedes Vito! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again! Thank you Wendy for all your messages and prompt replies when we had any questions.

We were lucky to be able to book a short stay for 4 nights at short notice. Petra's home is normally booked up. We were blessed with wonderful weather. The house is situated in a narrow lane, perched on top of a hill. We looked up the YouTube video that Petra sent us before we arrived and this helped us to find the house without issue. The house is stunning and it is spotless. The views are sublime and it was a pleasure to sit on the terrace for breakfast and evening meals. We normally eat out but found ourselves gravitating back to the house for evening meals as the views didn't compare elsewhere and the accommodation was so comfortable. We didn't use the TV etc but the house looked well equipped with games, dvds etc. The welcome hamper was lovely and Petra bought us more eggs from her pampered chickens. There is a gate opposite the property with steps down to the road below and then a short walk to the beach, a pub and a cafe. This was an excellent property with excellent hosts.

Little Spindles is perfect in every way. The location is peaceful and idyllic, yet extremely well connected to the local town and all that Dartmoor has to offer. Beaches are a picturesque drive away. Waking up and coming back to Little Spindles made each day for us. Even without activities, we would have been happy just relaxing there. Little Spindles is beautifully designed inside and out. The details are captivating and so well thought out. It has everything you need and is extremely comfortable. Poppy has made sure everything feels like a top-quality hotel. It’s a treat for the senses with the open layout and indoors-outdoors design. The sound of nothing but birds and trees was good for the soul in a break from our busy lives. Our kids ran free in the garden and relaxed in the hammock whilst we enjoyed eating in the garden. Fun, peace and a sense of luxury all in equal measure. We booked to come again before we even left and we’re counting down the days. Just heavenly!

We really loved this property. It was spacious and stylish but very homely. The location is perfect, near to all areas of interest. It’s quiet with a lovely balcony, felt like we were abroad! Would absolutely stay again. One of our favourite stays to date!

Treat yourself to a stay here, but I warn you, you won’t want to leave! Gorgeous space, thoughtful details like yoga mats, towels and welcome basket. An incredible view with plenty of outdoor space to relax or bbq. Walk to the beaches and restaurants. It was perfect for our family and we absolutely loved our stay. Wonderful memories made!

We loved staying at this beautiful location with stunning views. The place was extremely clean to arrive to and we had everything we needed for our stay. The beach is about a 2 minute walk away and the location in general is within easy reach of so many great places to visit. The water pressure at this place is great as well - the bath only takes about 3minutes to run which is a bonus! Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would return again. Thank you!

What a wonderful stay. River Retreat is beautiful, the views from the balcony are stunning looking across the river. The accommodation had everything you could want and more, lovely big shower, well equipped kitchen and a lovely garden where you can watch the wildlife from the balcony. Fantastic local pub 5 minutes walk away . We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, the views are outstanding! The cottage itself had lots of space both inside and out. We very much enjoyed our stay.

I had a fantastic stay in this beautiful home! The place was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described. Waking up to the sea view every morning was a dream. Luke is a fabulous host! Not only is the cottage idyllic, peaceful and charming, but Luke left us some goodies for our arrival. These included a bottle of fizz, some delicious bread and eggs from the chickens he keeps on his small holding. There was loads of good recommendations for walks and activities within the cottage and Luke trod a wonderful balance between giving us our space and being there to offer advice and recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the countryside!

The house is incredibly beautiful and really equipped with every comfort. Everything you need for a pleasant stay is available. The view over the valley is spectacular. The use of a large private garden is wonderful. The goats and chickens give it extra charm. The many birds contribute to a very relaxing musical setting. What a peace, what a delight. Rebecca is a fantastic host, a very sweet, helpful, and caring person. We could go to her for everything. Incidentally, she is also a very good painter, beautiful works of hers hang in the house. The surroundings are also magnificent. We were there for a week, but that's really too short, so all the more reason to come back again.

Fiona’s place is fantastic - so awesome to see how she’s built it and the story behind it. The beds are incredibly comfortable and it’s super peaceful. The kitchen has everything you could ever want and it really feels like a home. Loved our stay there and would love to come back.

This is our 2nd stay at Bay View House. As a multi-generational family group, we all enjoyed it last time and had another fantastic time this time. The balcony is perfect for watching the world go by for those who don't fancy or can't manage lots of exercise. Whilst Salcombe has plenty to look at and there are the beaches and local Overbecks garden to explore, for those that like to get out and about. Almost all bedrooms have their own ensuite bath/shower room and the main living area has space to spread out. We hope to be back again next year!

This is a fantastic place to stay for a family celebration - ours was for our son's 21st. It is a super house that is spacious and very well equipped, in a fantastic location. All the rooms were well presented with the bedrooms as good as most top-end hotels with dressing gowns and quality bathroom supplies. The kitchen was also very well-equipped and set up for those who really want to self-cater as a "master chef". If you don't want to cook Joyce provided us with a number of local recommendations. We celebrated with a Birthday Lunch at The Sardine Factory where the fish in particular was "epic"! The close proximity to the beach and dog walks along the coastal path was brilliant for our labrador to be able to run free and make a number of new friends! A baby gate was provided to ensure he didn't wander from the ground floor when back at the house. We didn't use all the facilities, but were very happy to stay in this fabulous house with a great host! Highly recommended.

The bungalow was modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable. All essentials were supplied e.g. washing up liquid, loo rolls. Weather wasn't brilliant so didn't get to enjoy the lovely garden and decking. Bedrooms were a good size and beds were comfy. We may be back!! Thank you Josiah and Sara.
