Vacation rentals with lake access in Castelo Branco District

This was likely the best experience we’ve ever had on Airbnb! The home exceeded all expectations—beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable, and even better than described. The location was perfect, and it had every amenity we could possibly need. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. We’re so grateful—thank you! We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

This is a one of a kind experience! Outside terrace with the grill is a wonderful spot to kick back, have a drink and enjoy the sunset. Beautiful old furniture and accessories that make you look twice. Beds are a little short for me with my 1,98 meter. But there is one without a foot board, so I still could stretch my legs. Kitchen provides you with everything you’ll need. If you visit during winter, bring some warm socks; the floor can get chilly. Highly recommended!

Nous avons passé un merveilleux week-end dans cette maison à Dornes. Elle a un charme fou, fidèle en tout point à l’annonce. Située au bord d’une rivière paisible qui ressemble presque à un lac, le paysage est tout simplement magnifique et apaisant. La maison était parfaitement adaptée à notre groupe, confortable et très bien équipée. Claudio, notre hôte, a été d’une grande réactivité et d’une disponibilité exemplaire, ce qui a vraiment facilité notre séjour. Le village de Dornes est également plein de charme. Bref, un vrai petit coin de paradis que nous recommandons les yeux fermés !

Our group of 13 had an incredible time at this lakeside house! The accommodations were super comfortable, providing ample space for all of us. The highlight was definitely the fantastic outdoor area, perfect for group gatherings and relaxation. Nuno, the host, was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We took advantage of the boat rental for water sports like skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing, and it was an absolute blast. Nuno's expertise and equipment made it all possible, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a lakeside retreat with a fantastic host and plenty of fun activities, this is the place to be. Our group had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to come back for more adventures by the lake!

O Nuno através do Lugar da Borralheira transformou a Páscoa da família Rocha. Tudo impecável, desde as instruções para a casa até à locais de interesse. Foi tudo feito de uma forma super fácil e acessível. Em casa tudo foi além das espetativas, pois quando entras sabes que estás a vontade e que do outro lado está o Nuno sempre pronto a ajudar. O Nuno sempre se disponibilizou em todos os momentos para os tornar mais fáceis desde instruções para a casa, quer a servir de guia em vários pontos de interesse. Recomendo seguramente esta estadia. Our stay at Villa Albertina was just amazing and so peaceful. The house is at a small town with a convenient coffee shop (the only constant source of food and drinks ) just by the house. It is 5 to 10 to 15 minutes away from the different beaches along side de Zêzere river. The drive to these beaches is really enjoyable with trees alongside the road, and to be honest, to us, the town was an amazing starting point to drive around and explore different areas. The house has a garden with a terrace and dinner table to eat outside, a big kitchen with everything you could need, the shower was just great, there is not even one negative point. The sky is amazing at nights and everything is so quiet. For buying food there is 2 options, or you drive till the closest town with a market (Vila do Rei is 15 mins away max), our you can wait in the mornings for the different trucks that bring bread, veggies and meat to town for you to buy directly from them, you just gotta relax at the garden until you listen the trucks honk announcing their arrival. Only advice is, as it is obvious from my review, do not stay here if you don't come with a car, unless you want to stay at home and relax everyday. Communication was great and everyone show a genuine interest for us to be comfortable, have everything we needed, and for the house to be in perfect shape upon our arrival. Couldn't be happier, we a sure we will return some day.

A Lianne é o Ricardo mostraram-se sempre disponíveis e preocupados para qualquer dúvida que eu tivéssemos, os dias que passámos lá foram muito agradáveis. O Ricardo apresentou nos todas as éguas que tinha na quinta e até nos deixou montar numa delas, a Boneca. Obrigada aos dois por nos fazerem sentir em casa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Carla’s impeccable ground floor apartment, which more than met all our requirements. It is furnished to the highest standard, and the kitchens and bathrooms are very well-appointed, with great walk-in showers. We liked the quiet location on the leafy outskirts of town, and the proximity to some very good restaurants (we can recommend both Dona Ferreirinha and Arena di Verona). With no fewer than three large windows in the sitting/dining area, it is a very light and airy apartment. It is easy to find free parking spaces outside the block. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment warmly, and to stay there again were we to revisit Castelo Branco, a most attractive town, with some great places to visit nearby, including the villages of Monsanto, Penamacor and Idanha-a-Velha. In the town itself the magnificent Baroque gardens of the bishop's palace should not be missed.

Eduardo muito atencioso e simpatico. Cidade tranquila e localização com restaurantes próximo. Bonita vista da natureza.

O sítio é perfeito para escapar do stress do dia a dia. Com a barragem a 2 minutos a pé e kayaks ao dispor não há nada melhor. Perfeito para explorar a natureza à volta e conhecer mais do belo país que temos. O contacto e as interações com o Pedro foram sempre impecáveis. 100% recomendável.

Très beau logement, bien équipé. Bel environnement en pleine nature. Attention, des logements de vacances sont en construction aux alentours, occasionnant quelques nuisance sonores mais ça ne devrait pas durer. Hôte pas très réactif dans les échanges mais répond toujours aux messages au final. Je recommande.

Best Airbnb we have ever stayed at! Views and location were breathtaking. Eric’s Airbnb was extremely clean & had everything you could need. Eric was an amazing host who went above & beyond for us. Very proactive & helped out with any request we had, even when we needed to find a vet for my dog he was very responsive. The pool was incredible, hiking down to the lake & kayaking will be my favourite parts of our holiday. Already planned a trip for next year!!!

Boa estadia, espaço com muita qualidade, zona extremamente calma para descansar do stress citadino, zona envolvente muito gira para quem gosta de caminhar e passear pela natureza. Recomendo.

Million dollar view, amazing area and peaceful place to have a great time to enjoy our vacation

We had a brilliant time at Canto Do Zêzere - the house is really clean, spacious and comfortable, and the lakeside location is absolutely stunning. Boating on the lake was a highlight! We would definitely come back again.

This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.

Ficámos 3 noites e gostámos muito do espaço e da gentileza dos anfitriões. Ofereceram fruta, pão, uma garrafa de vinho e algumas orientações sobre sítios que queríamos visitar. O espaço era muito acolhedor!

Espaço muito tranquilo, silencioso e agradável. Casa pequena mas muito simpática. Cama de casal tem um colchão magnífico. O acesso à casa é feito por uma estrada de terra acessível mas um pouco longa.
