Vacation rentals with lake access in Castelo Branco District

As a group of 8 people (young people), we can only thank you for the welcome, the friendliness and the wonderful space. Even in January, we did not resist a swim 😝 we intend to return!

This was likely the best experience we’ve ever had on Airbnb! The home exceeded all expectations—beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable, and even better than described. The location was perfect, and it had every amenity we could possibly need. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. We’re so grateful—thank you! We couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

This is a one of a kind experience! Outside terrace with the grill is a wonderful spot to kick back, have a drink and enjoy the sunset. Beautiful old furniture and accessories that make you look twice. Beds are a little short for me with my 1,98 meter. But there is one without a foot board, so I still could stretch my legs. Kitchen provides you with everything you’ll need. If you visit during winter, bring some warm socks; the floor can get chilly. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful weekend at this home in Dornes. It has a crazy charm, faithful in every way to the listing. Located at the edge of a peaceful river that almost looks like a lake, the scenery is simply beautiful and soothing. The house was perfectly suited to our group, comfortable and very well equipped. Claudio, our host, was very responsive and exceptionally available, which really made our stay easier. The village of Dornes is also full of charm. In short, a real little piece of paradise that we recommend without a second thought!

Our group of 13 had an incredible time at this lakeside house! The accommodations were super comfortable, providing ample space for all of us. The highlight was definitely the fantastic outdoor area, perfect for group gatherings and relaxation. Nuno, the host, was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We took advantage of the boat rental for water sports like skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing, and it was an absolute blast. Nuno's expertise and equipment made it all possible, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a lakeside retreat with a fantastic host and plenty of fun activities, this is the place to be. Our group had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to come back for more adventures by the lake!

O Nuno through the Place of Borralheira transformed the Passover of the Rocha family. Everything impeccable from house instructions to places of interest. It was all done in a super easy and affordable way. At home everything went beyond the spetatives, because when you get there you know that you are at ease and that on the other side is Nuno always ready to help. Nuno has always made himself available at all times to make them easier since instructions to the house, or to serve as a guide in various points of interest. I safely recommend this stay. Our stay at Villa Albertina was just amazing and so peaceful. The house is at a small town with a convenient coffee shop (the only constant source of food and drinks ) just by the house. It is 5 to 10 to 15 minutes away from the different beaches along side de Zêzere river. The drive to these beaches is really enjoyable with trees alongside the road, and to be honest, to us, the town was an amazing starting point to drive around and explore different areas. The house has a garden with a terrace and dinner table to eat outside, a big kitchen with everything you could need, the shower was just great, there is not even one negative point. The sky is amazing at nights and everything is so quiet. For buying food there is 2 options, or you drive till the closest town with a market (Vila do Rei is 15 mins away max), our you can wait in the mornings for the different trucks that bring bread, veggies and meat to town for you to buy directly from them, you just gotta relax at the garden until you listen the trucks honk announcing their arrival. Only advice is, as it is obvious from my review, do not stay here if you don't come with a car, unless you want to stay at home and relax everyday. Communication was great and everyone show a genuine interest for us to be comfortable, have everything we needed, and for the house to be in perfect shape upon our arrival. Couldn't be happier, we a sure we will return some day.

The place was exactly what we were looking for, easy access, clean with what you need to have a comfortable stay. Swimming pool was lovely and glad we had air con! Also great to have a bakery opposite who serve lovely coffee, bread and cake.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Carla’s impeccable ground floor apartment, which more than met all our requirements. It is furnished to the highest standard, and the kitchens and bathrooms are very well-appointed, with great walk-in showers. We liked the quiet location on the leafy outskirts of town, and the proximity to some very good restaurants (we can recommend both Dona Ferreirinha and Arena di Verona). With no fewer than three large windows in the sitting/dining area, it is a very light and airy apartment. It is easy to find free parking spaces outside the block. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment warmly, and to stay there again were we to revisit Castelo Branco, a most attractive town, with some great places to visit nearby, including the villages of Monsanto, Penamacor and Idanha-a-Velha. In the town itself the magnificent Baroque gardens of the bishop's palace should not be missed.

Very nice accommodation, well equipped. Beautiful environment surrounded by nature. Be careful, vacation homes are under construction nearby, causing some noise disturbances but this should not last. Host not very responsive in communication but always responds to messages in the end. I recommend it.

We had a really nice stay here. The views from the pool are incredible! The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of trails a short drive away. My partner used the canoe and went out on the lake. The owner lives next door and is very relaxed and friendly. We took our dog and she got on very well with his two dogs. If you have a baby it’s worth asking in advance if you need a cot as we didn’t do this and one wasn’t available. If your baby is very mobile it wouldn’t be very safe on the pool deck as there is a big-ish drop.

Best Airbnb we have ever stayed at! Views and location were breathtaking. Eric’s Airbnb was extremely clean & had everything you could need. Eric was an amazing host who went above & beyond for us. Very proactive & helped out with any request we had, even when we needed to find a vet for my dog he was very responsive. The pool was incredible, hiking down to the lake & kayaking will be my favourite parts of our holiday. Already planned a trip for next year!!!

Good stay, space with a lot of quality, extremely quiet area to rest from city stress, very cool surrounding area for those who like to walk and stroll through nature. I recommend it.

Million dollar view, amazing area and peaceful place to have a great time to enjoy our vacation

We had a brilliant time at Canto Do Zêzere - the house is really clean, spacious and comfortable, and the lakeside location is absolutely stunning. Boating on the lake was a highlight! We would definitely come back again.

This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.

Amazing location, we loved swimming in the river, kayaking and chilling in the hammocks. Gleb and Anna were really welcoming and helpful hosts. We'd love to visit again. Highly recommended
