Vacation rentals with a washer and dryer in Cartaxo

⭐⭐🌟⭐⭐ Exactly what it says on the tin - like staying at an acquaintance's guesthouse. - Host was super responsive; was reserved & checked-in in<30m of my reservation request. - The actual in-house staff mostly only spoke Portuguese & Espanol, but a combination of google translate, charades, & helpful fellow guests made everything easy enough. - A tad noisy with all hustle & bustle coming from the surrounding guests, buildings, & streets (i.e I wouldn't take any busines meetings from there), but you could hear a pin drop the second it rolls over to the city's quiet hours. - The room & various bathrooms were all exceptionally clean. (The linens had some minor historical stains, but were freshly cleaned. To be expected, but I mention it as some folks are 'particular' about that sort of thing.) The washer & dryer seemed really steep at $5 for each (there's a small clothesline, but it seemed largely in use). However, that appears to be the going rate in Europe, so I can't complain.

Comfortable room with a nice bed. Huge and beautiful bathroom that was nice to clean up in after a long wet day on the Camino.

Nice house, comfortable and very well equipped. It has a beautiful, spacious garden with a pool that was enough for us. This is a circular pool approximately 120cm deep. The porch with the bbq is wonderful. We spent much of our stay there taking advantage of no pesky insects like mosquitoes or wasps. There is the option to feed Kalifa which is the horse that is in the adjacent enclosure. We loved it. It's very quiet and very docile. The location of the house is in a very quiet village. Access is totally independent and the car can be stored. The garden and pool are both totally private. The location is excellent for visiting very interesting places such as Tomar, with the impressive Convent of Christ, the beautiful village of Obidos or the monastery of Batalha. Within a radius of just over an hour are places like Lisbon, Coimbra, Nazaré. Henri has been an accessible and very friendly host.

We enjoyed the place, the house has a wide view, is wonderfully cool and the hammock under the trees is great. Any is a lovely woman, very welcoming and thoughtful! The pears of the fruit trees were delicious 😍

Eric’s wife: “So you arrive, into the middle of nowhere, in front of huge black gates. You drive down the picturesque driveway where fluffy sheep and Paloma the donkey greet you. You are already entranced. Filipe and his son graciously show you to your villa. Please note the word “villa”. Stunning wooden door leads you to a vast sitting area. How civilized. Which overlooks your private courtyard. With your own wading pool. All of which leads to the spectacular entrance of your countryside oasis. Prepare to be awed. Soaring high ceilings, vast palatial windows, state-of-the-art everything, waterfall shower…it is SPECTACULAR. AirBnB should have an extra rating for places like this, because 5 stars is too skimpy for such an outstanding place. By the way, when you are lucky enough to go there (because you MUST!) please give a treat to (or adopt!) the ginger kitten we named Chelsea. For this animal/nature/luxury lover, the whole place was out of central casting. In a word: WOW.”

Yelizaveta is very friendly and communicate . It was great for a one night stay. Beautiful surroundings and lots of horses which they really look after and we love that

The Quinta is easy to find and the accessibility is good. Upon arrival we were greeted with a basket from the garden and another gastronomic treat that delighted us. The hosts were kind and our experience was great! The house is impeccably decorated, the kitchen is very well equipped, the suites (all rooms) are appealing and pleasant. The outdoor and surrounding areas are very well maintained. We went for a family retreat, we were looking to have fun and enjoy each other's company in a beautiful and pleasant place. That's exactly what we got, if not more. We were very pleased with our choice and highly recommend Quinta do Casal da Aveleiras. Note 5!

We’ve just come back from a wonderful week at Cintia & Carel’s beautiful property! They greeted us like family, and were always happy to help with anything- from how to work the air con, to recommendations for days out- they were always super responsive via text and nothing felt like any trouble! They were also really thoughtful- putting up some balloons on arrival as we mentioned celebrating our daughter’s GCSE’s, it was a lovely touch. They also left us to enjoy the place uninterrupted, understanding the need to recharge and relax- and oh my gosh- the place is STUNNING! super clean and homely inside (with everything you need) and outside is fabulous! The pool is amazing, the outside kitchen a treat, and the views are incredible. It’s even nicer than their already beautiful photos. We went for one day out to Óbidos (go there!) but honestly felt happiest enjoying relaxing at this gorgeous home they have created. We will most certainly be back! Thank you Cintia & Carel ❤️

The place is amazing, it's in a quiet location and even though there are a lot of us, the noise doesn't bother anyone. The pool is very clean, the terrace with barbecue is the best part of the place and the house itself is very cozy, I would definitely stay here again!
