Cowboy Cottages

EmilyRating, 5 stars4 months ago
The Cowboy Cottages house was lovely. It has a spacious homey feel. The kitchen had a full set of pans with matching lids. We used the house’s wood stove to keep it nice and warm. Randall was quick to answer my question before we visited. Definitely would stay again if we find ourselves in the area.
A serene pond is surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees, reflecting the clear blue sky. The calm water complements the natural landscape, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Areas of grass and wildflowers frame the water's edge, enhancing the tranquil setting.

Charming Hill Crest Cottage

LindaRating, 5 stars19 months ago
Probably the finest Airbnb or other travel rental we have experienced. This lovely cottage is just outside the main business district of John Day which makes it very walkable to stores and restaurants while remaining peaceful. The home is very well appointed with unusually well stocked kitchen and dining room, excellent seating, comfy beds, large very functional bathroom with lots of linens, ample hot water, convenient laundry just off the kitchen, nice front porch with seating and great view to hills across the valley, private parking in safe area behind house and a garden area with deck and deck seating for additional private space. Distances out here are large, John Day offers a convenient place for exploring the painted hills, the fossil beds, the Malheur National reserve area, and just driving around to charming small towns viewing the stunning scenery from Alpine mountains to expansive prairies. Coming back to Carolyn's cottage was always like returning home.

This was a very affordable B&B in Spray, Oregon. We kayak the John day so staying close by the river was great for us.

Glamping with a view, Queen Cabin

SondraRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Amazing views, comfortable bed, very responsive host, wonderful location. We brought plenty of water for cooking and washing up (5 gallon camping jug) so a dry camp is no problem for us and appreciated this being clear in the listing so we prepared adequately. Such cute decorations and the little butane stove worked wonderful for heating water for coffee and oatmeal in the morning. It was so quiet and lovely just relaxing on the porch or down in the chairs in the sitting area. Highly recommend this glamping! Thank you, Elisha!
A traditional tipi is set amidst a natural landscape, featuring a wooden platform and a decorative exterior. Tall pine trees surround the structure, and a clear blue sky is visible overhead.

Traders Outpost Tipi #2

Great experience! Wonderful people! Since it was Labor Day weekend and on their property, Bo and Sharon both were very welcoming. Felt like I left making new friendships. I told them both I couldn’t wait to come back and visit soon! Thank you for everything! I appreciate you both. 💗
A spacious yard features neatly manicured grass, bordered by trees and framed by a clear blue sky. The John Day River glistens in the background, with rolling hills visible beyond. A wooden structure is seen on the right, offering a view of the inviting landscape.

River front cabin on the John Day River in Spray

RichardRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It's a great place to stay. The town of Spray is just outside the front door, while from the great room or back deck you're right on the bank of the John Day River, with little sign of town and a view miles down the valley! I found the listing a little unclear on bedrooms. There's one generously large bedroom with its own bath. A second bedroom shares a bath with the den which has a pull-out sofa bed (fine for our grandkid, but not up to the standard of the other comfortable beds). We'll stay here again next time we're in eastern Oregon.

A panoramic view captures a serene landscape of rolling hills and mountains, interspersed with patches of trees and structures in the valley below. The scene is enriched by warm light from a setting sun, casting a golden hue over the distant peaks.

Downtowner

PhyllisRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This place is on the back of a business right in the heart of downtown. It was clean, quite and private. The fenced little yard was a nice bonus for our 2 small dogs to give them a break from the leash. The host is very responsive. I highly recommend and will return to stay again.
An airy interior features high wood-paneled ceilings and a grand staircase made of natural wood. Soft lighting highlights the rustic charm, with a cozy seating area visible through large windows leading to an outdoor deck. Ceiling fans enhance airflow throughout the space.
