It has three bedrooms, a large double, a twin room and a downstairs single bedroom. The bathroom is on the ground floor and large sitting/dining room with a gas heater and provides plenty of space for five people indoors and there is a private, wrap around garden with BBQ area that enjoys the sun at most times of the day.

There is also a loft bedroom accessed by a hidden door with a king size mattress suitable for older children or couple. Perfect for families, but note there is no enclosed garden.

'The Cabin' is a comfortable two bedroom cottage on Mersea Island, near Colchester, a few steps from the sea on a much sought after quiet lane. There are two double bedrooms, one with a Super King bed the other with a King size bed and a bunk bed. There are great walks and bike rides either along the sea wall or on the beach, and some fantastic seafood eateries. Mersea Island is off the coast of Essex, 9 miles southeast of Colchester, just one hour from London.

We had a lovely stay, it was exactly what we were looking for. The apartment was modern and very clean. It had very useful amenities and a very comfortable LARGE bed. We arrived a little early and Adam responded immediately to my text asking him if we could check in ahead of the usual time. We had no other issues at all. There were not many options to eat within walking distance, so perhaps a longer stay may have required more driving and looking. But we found it perfect for our one night. Great to have a lot of off-road parking space too Highly recommend

Comfortable home in peaceful location but near to the beach, very pet friendly. Mersea island is a lovely location. Plenty of lovely pubs within 10min walking distance. Mel is a fantastic host, very friendly and goes out of her way to make your holiday special.

The cottage is beautifully presented and the location is great - private and quiet but within a short walk of the harbour and the beach. This was our first time on Mersea Island but I’m sure we will return. Judy was an outstanding host, answering all our questions very promptly, and very kindly leaving provisions for us. The quality of the accommodation was even better than we expected from the photos. We visited with our grandchildren aged 3 and 5, and they loved the cottage and crab fishing from the nearby pier. I completely agree with the high ratings in the Air BnB website, and I recommend the cottage very highly indeed.

We had a lovely few days at the Mersea Retreat. It is very well equipped, comfortable and quiet and Emily is a very helpful host. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed walking on the beach and visiting the Mersea Island Museum. Hope to stay again. Many thanks.
