This is my second time at The Retreat in 2 weeks and we will definitely be back. Fantastic lodge, very clean and tidy. Lots of little nibbles as gifts from host which my daughter and niece loved. This stay went to the pool and sauna which was fantastic, free coffee, tea and biscuits when you come out which is a lovely little touch. Thank you for a fantastic stay xx

Had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Will definitely be back as we loved it so much. The lodge was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was absolutely amazing! Stunning lodge, big private garden and beautiful, quiet surroundings. Easy check in and check out too. Host is helpful and responsive. 10/10 stay!

Amazing break away. Peaceful setting, stunning views. A great place to switch off and relax. Nick was a great host from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend the breakfast box.

My family and I stayed Monday to Friday, fabulous site, the lodge was perfect for us and the staff really helpful. Lovely stay.

We had a lovely time! He kept us up to date with check in and allowed us to check in at 11:00am which was very kind! He thoroughly gave us a tour of the Lakeland Leisure Village and Lodge whilst also providing recommendations of places to eat and things to do. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be recommending to others and hopefully staying again at some point in the future.

wow what a place! the lodge was fantastic, great peaceful location and private too. the lodge was clean, large and felt right at home. jason also put up balloons for our anniversary, alongside a goodie box, was such a nice touch. the surroundings were gorgeous with a hot tub to top it off. can’t recommend highly enough. will definitely be back! thankyou!!! A long awaited break and worth every minute. Quiet, pet friendly, walks from the site available, so for a short break, plenty to do in the area without having to go far.

Gorgeous lodge with lots of things to do in the surrounding area! Mark was a very friendly and proactive host who messaged to make sure everything was ok. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful lodge!

Denise was extremely helpful and approachable. She took the time to send a few messages to ensure we were clear on check in. Denise welcomed us and showed us to the lodge. The lodge was super clean, well equipped and Denise even supplied the basic condiments, tea, coffee, juice, milk with some welcome biscuits thrown in! The lodge was also dog friendly. The kids loved their bed room and we were all very comfortable. We had a great stay and the lodge more than met our needs. We plan to return.

we had a fantastic stay at the lodge. A great location for visiting all of Yorkshire and a lovely setting on the lake. We enjoyed the fireplace in the evening and all round had a wonderful stay. Ruth was a great host!

The place is a lot bigger than on the photos. The secluded garden was brilliant for my dog and the big field opposite was an added bonus to walk him. It is very peaceful and I would definitely book it again. Gabby was very quick in replying, when we got lost and needed fire-lighters for the log burner.

Booked this as a bit of last minute R & R for my family to end our Easter holidays. From the start Chas was friendly & very helpful providing fabulous food when we arrived. There was open space for our children to play & for us to unwind, the cabin is so cosy & everyone slept so well. The family were on hand to help when we needed, we will most definitely return here!

We've just returned from a short stay at my happy hounds. Our glamping pod Hugo was absolutely perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and was absolutely spotless considering these are dog friendly. The welcome pack was also a nice touch with all quality items. We have 2 dogs one that is very nervous, he settled in well as it was peaceful and private and having ample space for them to run and play at the pod and the secure dog fields, these are a great facility for anyone traveling with a dog. It's only a short drive to find local amenities and finding my happy hounds was easy with Google maps being accurate. The communication from Harry was excellent with plenty of information and help if needed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and have already started talking of booking again for the future. The lodge was absolutely stunning and exactly what we wanted. Upon arrival all the essentials were provided like bread, milk and a delicious cake along. The lodge was very clean and all towels were provided, including the towels for the hot tub. The views from the lodge looking out from the bedrooms and hot tub were stunning and certainly helped us all to relax. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need - nothing was missing. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable week - I couldn’t recommend it enough if you want peace and quiet and stunning views.

Loved our stay, it was exactly how it was described. we especially loved the gazebo with bath, fire pit and TV and spent most of our time in there especially in the evening. we came home totally relaxed and would definitely stay again

Great place, equipped with everything you could need. wood provided and firelighters and matches provided for log burner. sheep right outside the decking. set on the back of an equestrian type farm place, nice and quiet. we walked to the white swan, about 15mins, great food. Rail Trail nearby was a nice walk. hot tub was great, press and hold the right hand button to adjust the temp, took us a day to figure that out, and the first button on left adjusts the bubbles. there was individual jams and butters in the fridge, prosecco, crisps and biscuits, tea coffee sugar and 2pints of milk provided. it wasn't immediately obvious how to turn on the towel radiator in the bathroom, but there's a tiny switch on the bottom right. shower was OK did the job, but kinda what you expect from an electric shower. The postcode didn't take us right to the place but if you just keep going along the same road you will get to the gate to the farm. 100% recommend, would stay again.

No better way to celebrate our moms 76th birthday weekend. Beautiful to wake up to such a beautiful location, made all the better that the sun was actually shining! The listing location was exactly how described, and it was clean, and comfortable. Julian was responsive and very helpful with all of our enquiries. Already looking to book again later in the year. Peter's place was spotless! he is an awesome host and even helped us set up a barbecue. the place is exactly as advertised and we loved the vibes!

We had a wonderful stay! A lovely peaceful setting, great views, and passing visits from the donkeys, lamb and of course Cookie the dog. It was very cosy, with a well equipped kitchen. James and Helen were very considerate hosts making us feel very at home, chatty and welcoming but also gave us privacy. We were kept well stocked with wood for the fire, and we loved having the record player.

Our stay at Nicola’s Airbnb was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how immaculate and beautifully maintained the house was. It was cosy, comfortable, and had such a warm, inviting atmosphere. Nicola went above and beyond as a host, ensuring we had everything we needed and making us feel truly at home away from home. The property offered so much to do—we loved having barbecues at the outdoor stove, feeding the swans by the lake, playing darts, and relaxing by the fireplaces while soaking in the breathtaking lakeside views. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and it was clear that Nicola takes great pride in creating a perfect guest experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and enjoy ourselves. Nicola’s hospitality and the incredible amenities made this stay unforgettable. Lovely quiet and peaceful place to spend a spring weekend. Cosy and well equipped. Small but spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed sitting out on the swing seat listening to the birds and the river and hearing nothing else. Lovely walk into Whitby over the fields and back on the cinder track. Perfect.
