The Soup Kitchen.

The Soup Kitchen is an architecturally designed renovated cottage dating back to 1840. This 'upside down' house boasts a spacious lounge, kitchen, dining room & bathroom upstairs & three double bedrooms & bathroom downstairs. The lounge has a veranda overlooking the garden with a small seating area where you can sit for that early morning coffee or late night glass of wine. Outside in the cabin is a hot tub and the enclosed rear garden has a lovely decked area with seating for eating outside.

Kirkcudbright has a bustling community and runs events throughout the year including Farmer Markets, Floodlit Tattoo and Festival of Light which ends with a spectacular firework display.

Plenty of games and books etc for the young ones. Carrick Bay has plenty of opportunities to fish, swim, walk, cycle, sail, canoe, windsurf or paddle board. Or of course just chill with a cold drink and stargaze. Friday check in, 3 night minimum booking in winter months and minimum 7 days from April to November.

Travel a little to sample the delights in the local area like the chocolate of the Cocoabean Company. Enjoy a walk to the local pubs for lunch at Gatehouse of Fleet or Borgue. For a special evening meal The Ship Inn at Gatehouse of Fleet has lovely locally produced food. car essential, no public transport.

An old stone bothy converted in 2017, the accommodation offers a private open plan space with it's own entrance, patio garden and parking. Situated on a smallholding looking out to sea in a beautiful region on the Solway coast, secluded beaches and coves are only a 15 minute stroll and the artists town of Kirkcudbright a short drive away. We offer a 15% discount for weekly stays.
