Family-friendly vacation rentals in Bodega Bay

Really enjoyed our stay at Kelly’s in Duncan’s Mills—this place had it all! Beautiful scenic views right off the back balcony and easy river access, made us feel immersed in nature. Plenty to do with your own private dock, kayaks, bikes, hot tub, and nearby town/shops just a mile down the road. Would definitely recommend this spot for a relaxing and fun getaway. Kelly was also an excellent, responsive host and helped make our trip nice and smooth. Thank you!

Mary's cabin was a delightful stay! It's nestled in a charming little town. Coming from the city, being sorrounded by towering redwood trees felt magical, especially when stepping outside just before sunrise, breathting in the crisp air, and listening to the soothing sounds of nature. During our stay we explored Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, Johnson's Beach, and even took a quick trip down to San Francisco which is just an hour and half away. Overall, great spot!

My family had a great stay. This included my 90 year old parents. The location is nice; close to Marshall's restaurants and the view of the Bay is wonderful. We were attending a family wedding just a couple of miles away and this was a great place to be able to kick back when not involved in wedding related activities. Definitely would consider a future stay.

Lisa is an absolute five star host. She was kind in proactively sending us the instructions to her property, house rules and checkout instructions (all were very simple!). The property is a true gem. On the cliff, with a fabulous view and so private and relaxing. There is a market that is small but full of necessities near by that sell tasty sandwiches as well, which was a plus (we forgot to bring a few things!). Not too far from SF. I would love to return.

Absolutely wonderful place, the photos don't do it justice. You can tell that this is not just a vacation rental as a lot of love and care has gone into the home and it has everything you could need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Communication was always quick, friendly and proactive. Would love to visit again one day!

I almost don't want to tell you how good this place is, so we can rent it again sometime. :-) But it's that good. We visited over spring break with our daughters, eight and 11, and had one of the most amazing stays we've ever had at an Airbnb. The home, the land, the pool, and the local area are all 100% amazing. And the sunsets. You know how you sometimes stay at Airbnb's where you feel like the hosts did the bare minimum to qualify to list it? This is *not* that place. There is everything you need and more. Our stay was lovely! The beds and linens were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The entire home was well stocked and it felt like a second personal home in terms of the quality of items - sharp knives, well stocked pantry for cooking basics, foil, etc. We brought two dogs and it was a paradise for them. The outdoor area is truly magical. The fire pit is great, the downstairs dog shower is handy, and the landscaping is sublime.

I loved this place. It was beautifully decorated and had amazing views. The pool was an added benefit on hot days! It’s somewhat small for a group because it only has one bedroom but still worth the experience.

If you’re looking for a nice & relaxing place to get away from your everyday life this is the place you want to be!

Amazing host; will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip. It was the perfect place, Kathy was very friendly and gave us so many recommendations around town to check out! The pool and hot tub were very clean and the perfect temperature. She even gave us a welcome bottle of wine and breakfast goodies! Definitely would recommend staying here to all my friends and family.

Eliza's place was wonderful for us (two parents and a 4 month old baby) for a weekend - we had everything we needed and it was incredibly easy to check in and out. Eliza and her family were there and great to spend time with, but we also felt we had space to ourselves to rest and relax. We will hopefully be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Happy House! The pool was large and fantastic, perfect for relaxing. The kitchen was beautiful and very well stocked with everything we needed. The house was spotless, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe. Both the garden and front yard were lovely, and the pool area was especially private thanks to the high fence. Brook was incredibly friendly, always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay, and promptly answered all our questions. She was very helpful throughout our visit. Highly recommend!

Wonderful space for 5 friends, a dog and a baby! Gorgeous ocean view, right next to trails, and close to town. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking on nights in. Main bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the sofa bed easily accommodated a single person. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Chantelle's home. The location is ideal--tucked away on a quiet street and only 5 minutes away from Sonoma Square. We absolutely plan to rent her home again--it's perfect!

This property is so amazing. The views were phenomenal. Loved the privacy, and being surrounded in nature was awesome. My kids loved the pool and we swam all day and relaxed, it was really a nice break from the traffic and noise in town it was incredibly peaceful up there. This has been one of our favorite spots now I hope they’ll have us back :)

amazing place to stay for a visit to the Bay Area. the backyard is a beautiful secluded Oasis with its own private hot tub. easily walk to the number of spots in the Mission District and Bernal Heights for some outdoor fun. they have a picnic basket packed up with all the supplies you would need so I highly recommend taking that over to Dolores Park on a sunny day to enjoy one of the best views in the city. also highly recommend looking through their recommendation book before hitting the town so you can get an idea of some cool spots to check out. I would 100% stay here again on another trip to San Francisco

We recommend this airbnb! I have been traveling pretty regularly for the past 12 years for my job... hotel after hotel. This time I decided to book my own lodging as my husband and baby were tagging along...and this airbnb could have been any more of a perfect match for what I was looking for! The views are beautiful as is the airbnb itself. Tons of windows and skylights create beautiful natural light. The interior has a beautiful wooden cabin feel. The choice of decor is nautical, very interesting provides the warmth of being at a familar home. There is Cooks Beach just a 3 minute drive (great coffee shop in that area) and the center of town is also a 3 minutes drive the opposite direction. Mike has included a variety of board games to be used. Internet was strong and we both had phone service the entire time (AT&T and Verizon). This property was so perfect that my husband and I began to discuss buying something similar down the road. 5 out of 5 stars! Thanks Mike!

We had a wonderful time at your house! It is super pretty, comfortable and the windows and views were the best! Soooo nice! We also loved all your books :) One of us was on a working trip, rather than a hiking trip, and your lovely home helped make staying behind the best that could be! Great location, and calm and peaceful too. Thank you!

Lisa was a great communicator...huge help when you're unfamiliar with the area. The flat was definitely "sun-drenched" as advertised. It's elevated above street level, so had a private feel in general. Great lower patio area surrounded by gardens with Adirondack chairs and fire pit. Candles in lieu of fire was a smart move! Would definitely stay there again. Only drawback for us was that we are used to a roomy king size bed, but that''s personal preference. Thanks Lisa, for sharing with us!

Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful! Would recommend to any couple that is visiting SF area yet wants to be away from the city to relax after long days of touring. The location is so beautiful and gives you an incredible experience of what Berkeley is about.

Small hiccup getting into the house and Amber was super quick to help! The place was stunning! So beautiful and so well appointed. The home is 10/10!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Nancy’s place for a friend’s wedding that was nearby. The place was very cute, homey, extremely clean, and thoughtful touches such as snacks and a little sign with our name on it really made us feel welcomed. Nancy was also very accommodating and gave us an early check in at my request which was very helpful and kind. We wish we could have stayed longer, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
