I bedroom apartment in historic downtown building. 2 blocks from Knox College; 3 blocks from Amtrak Station. Several good restaurants and bars nearby; downtown Y a block away. 12' ceilings, hardwood floors, full kitchen and bathroom, coin laundry down the hall. Heat from radiators. Window AC units in summer. TV in bedroom. (For some reason, the listing says 4 beds; that is incorrect.) The apt. is on the 2nd floor: 26 steps. (No elevator.) Parking in lot across the street. Host lives nearby.

My husband and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. I wanted a place where we could relax and eat out! (Did not want to do any cooking!) Also located next to a river was a plus! We also took our dog, Mya. We were so surprised to see flowers, chocolates and a card on the table when we arrived! Also dog dishes and a blanket for Mya!! Also great location! Did not realize DeWitt was so close!! Great recommendations on restaurants!! Such a great town! Overall our experience was just what we needed! Thanks again to our hosts Jillane and Kendra!

We arrived a bit early and then were delayed leaving and Mara and Doug were so kind to work with us and made our trip to attend our daughter's graduate absolutely perfect. Great place, inside was spotless and smelled great! Katie met us on the front porch and gave us great ideas for dining, which all were in walking distance. She even sent me a color coded diagram on how to work the shower! Stayed here for work and will definitely stay here again!

Very nice place, would recommend. The home was clean and orderly and the neighborhood was pleasant. Supplies and their locations were clearly labeled and the house manual was comprehensive, including local recommendations. We had a little trouble on arrival because we weren't familiar with the key lock box. This was entirely due to arriving in the wee hours of the morning when it was dark. Once we figured it out, it was easy to operate day or night. If visiting downtown Aledo, the location is a bit of a walk, but we never had much trouble finding parking near downtown even during a large local festival. If we were to visit Aledo again, we would definitely try to book this location again.
