The place was fantastic! Great location, very cozy, conveniently located, close to all that Balat has to offer. Ișil, was amazing 👏! she met us on the first day, did a detailed walk through of the space, showed us around the neighborhood, and was available for any of our questions while we stayed at her gorgeous space. she even helped us with unstanding local transportation. Would absolutely stay again. Communication was second to none. Thank you, thank you!

We liked everything about this property and the host was extremely kind and helpful. The apartment is on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of a very narrow building, above a shop that was not open when we were there. If you can't do stairs, you really should NOT be in this space (and you should think twice about Istanbul in general. Istanbul has a LOT of stairs and hills!) If you have no problem with stairs, it is great. It is RIGHT next to the main tram line that goes to all the tourist locations, and very close to the tunnel elevator that takes you to the top of Galata and also very close to a ferry port. There are a couple currency exchange places right across the street and tons of restaurants in the neighborhood. The location is perfect, and the space is adorable and well-maintained. The kitchen is very minimal - do not expect to cook. You will hear city sounds out the window, like pigeon, sirens and car horns (so bring ear plugs). There is a washer/dryer combination machine.

Apartments are beautiful, large, and in a great location - we really loved our stay and would absolutely recommend this place to friends! Things to know: the two floors are totally separate apartments; they are pretty anonymous rental flats in terms of what to expect in the kitchen; we experienced some cultural differences around checkout and other communication, but no major issues; the offered airport pickup required that we wait around the airport for about 40 minutes but was otherwise easy

About the host: Dilek was a fantastic host who was responsive no matter the time of day or night. She was quick to respond to every query I had including how to get around and use local transport. We even had a minor issue and Dileks husband Suat rushed in to help us out with it. They never let us feel like we were on our own. The Apartment: One of the most beautiful and artistic apartments I’ve ever stayed it. It was bigger than it looked in the photos and was so tastefully done in terms of interiors. Amenities: Tons of amenities and crockery, The most amazing parts of the room: Almost everything to be honest. - the massive terrace - the walk in closet that is fabulous for luggage storage and for changing - the washroom is absolutely well done too. Location: Very close to most points of interest. Walk downwards and you head to the tram station. Walk upwards you enter a lovely street for restaurants and bars, 15-20 mins walk to the main areas Conclusion: Highly recommend

Very nice place to stay if you visit Istanbul, quiet neighbourhood, close to bus stop. And the landlady is very friendly and responsive, the apartment is very clean, would recommend 10/10!!!

The location of the house is at the bottom of the metro, the host is very friendly. The house was well cleaned. Also comfortable and comfortable rooms can accommodate 4 people comfortably.

Berk is such a lovely host! So helpful and was always there if we needed anything at all. The place itself was lovely, close by to everything and clean with extra supplies if if we needed anything :) would definitely come back

A beautiful, unique, artistic maisonette. A roof terrace with views over the Golden Horn. Quirky, so flexibility required.

Emin’s place was magnificent. View was breathtaking & competes with many places in the city with views. I loved waking up to the gorgeous view & coming back to it every evening. It was part of the visit’s highlight. There are no blackout curtains and the light is strong but I wasn’t bothered. I slept with an eye mask & wanted to see the views the second I wake up. So I didn’t even use the curtains. The building has many services & is easy to locate. The penthouse was neat & organized. The amenities were very good (coffee machine, washing machine, kitchen utensils, air fryer). It needs a microwave and definitely mirrors. There’s only 1 in the bathroom with bad lighting. The only downside of the place is that there’s no AC in the bedroom & it was very hot. I had the AC on in the living room & the fan on in the bedroom to try to move the cold air but it was quite uncomfortable. Emin was a wonderful host. He communicated all the time, before the trip and throughout.

Nice and stylish accommodation, close to a lot and good geographically. Responsive host, easily accessible and great communication. Highly recommend!

I recently stayed at sortie home’s place in Istanbul, and it was an incredible experience. The property was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location was perfect, close to most of the touristic places, making it easy to explore the area. The host was exceptionally welcoming and responsive, ensuring I had everything I needed during my stay. The apartment is fantastic for spaciousness, views and extra services such as heated pool-sauna-gimnasio. Fatih is an excellent host who is always ready to help and gives you anything you need. Totally recommended

The apartment is as beautiful and clean as pictures, but much smaller like bathrooms in Shawar, being in the ground floor with the hall, the pool and the rooms above the room.. The bathroom in the room is only a chair and a sink meter meters.. There is no rinse in any of the bathrooms . The room has no air conditioning . So by giving away the privacy of bathing and using the bathroom to pass by the lounge and up the stairs, what is very different. Otherwise, it is very clean and their instructions are clear and the price is better and better and it is better to make everything written above .. Its location is fabulous close to everything

Ali’s place is charming, functional and makes you feel right at home. Ali is very accommodating and made sure our needs are met. I highly recommend his place and location is convenient with stores and great restaurants in walking distance.

This is a great place to stay in Istanbul. It is close to main districts like Sisli, Harbiye, Taksim etc. This airbnb is one of the cleanest ones I ve stayed. I will be back for sure when I stay in Istanbul. I recommend this place without any doubt. The building has an indoor parking which is important for Istanbul.

We loved this airbnb. The location was quiet which was important for us. You can walk to the Galata tower in 3 mins and there are loads of coffee shops, restaurants and shops around. The apartment itself was perfect for a couple. The kitchen was well-equipped and the coffee machine and washing machine were an added bonus. The bed was very comfy with high thread count sheets. The shower was hot and powerful. We were there in January when it was very cold but the heating was on and the apartment was very warm and cosy. The host was very responsive and answered any questions immediately. Tracey helped us to order a big taxi to and from the airport with our excess luggage and extended our check out time - we were very grateful for her help. The code on the doors was convenient and worked well. We'll be back - loved every minute.

I had an amazing stay! The location was perfect—close to major attractions yet tucked away off of the main road. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The host was incredibly welcoming, responsive, and full of great local recommendations. Drew was proactive to all of my needs. The rooftop terrace offered stunning city views and Galata Tower over the buildings, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful apartment uphill from the heart of Balat. we stayed for 9 days so plenty of time to experience the neighborhood and the place. It was a pleasant place to stay. We didn't want to stay in the massively touristy areas and experience a little but of the local life and Balat is great for that. The place is set over 4 floors with very steep stairs. be very careful whilst coming down. luckily there's a toilet on each floor. It was comfortable, relatively quiet and safe. We travelled with cabin luggages so very grateful for the supplied shower gel and shampoo! We cooked a little and the kitchen is totally functional as is the washing machine ( although you'll need a but of Google lens translation to figure out the programmes!) Constructive criticism - could do with hooks for the towels in each bathroom and a couple more seats on the terrace. It was a really nice spot to have our breakfast and evening sundowner. Also, no TV unlike what is listed but good WiFi available.

Great location & perfect stay.

I can honestly say this was the most hospitable, friendly and helpful team I’ve ever stayed with. I was blown away by the service. The room was clean, looks just like the pictures and they had folks come in to clean every three days. I completely trusted the cleaning staff in my room alone with my laptop and valuables while I was away. The wifi was solid which was important for me as a digital nomad. The location is about a 5 minute walk from Taksim about 10 minutes to Galata. Close to all my favorite neighborhoods and side streets. I don’t have enough good things to say about the location, people and area. This will be my go-to lodging when I return to Istanbul.
