This was genuinely one of our favourite places in all of Sri Lanka. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful with a stunning view of the lake and just the sounds of nature. The room is very luxurious, from the big comfy bed to the beautiful bathroom with a hot waterfall shower, it was perfect! Madhu’s hospitality was expectional, we were so well taken care of and felt at home right away! We had dinner on the terrace by the lake both nights and it was the most delicious and varied local food we’ve had! The breakfast was also fantastic! One of the highlights was when Madhu offered for us to borrow her paddleboard of the lake where we went round the lagoon at sunset and saw lots of widlife! A truly exceptional place, would definitely recommend!!

Der Aufenthalt bei Igor und Michele war einfach schön. Es ist ruhig gelegen, der Pool und die vielen Sitzgelegenheiten laden zum Entspannen ein. Es wurde gemeinsam gefrühstückt und die ganze Stimmung war super freundlich und familiär. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und empfehlen es zu 100% weiter.

Ich war eine Woche in der Unterkunft und war sehr zufrieden mit allem und kann und werde es weiterempfehlen. Man hat einen wundervollen Ausblick und ist umgeben von Natur, man hört das zwitschern von Vögel und man riecht den Duft von Zimt und kann in aller Ruhe entspannen. Man hat eine großzügige Gemeinschaftsküche wo man jederzeit kochen kann inklusive Essensbereich. Da ich durch mein Online Geschäft abhängig von gutem und stabilen Interner bin war ich sehr erfreut dass das Internet dafür ausreichend war. Der Kontakt mit der Gastgeberfamilie war sehr herzlich und man fühlt sich willkommen und alles wird gemacht damit einem geholfen wird und das Essen war traumhaft. Vielen Dank für alles, ich werde wiederkommen.

At first - super fast communication with host. It makes everything much easier! Thanks for that. Everything was good at the end, just a little minus - when we arrived at evening pool was dirty. Also on next morning there was varan (big lizard) swimming - but our kids will say that it’s a plus :)) After we asked about the pool it was immediately cleaned. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really great. We recommend this place! No worries about the pool we swim and everything was good :)) Beautiful view!

You will find a little whisper of magic in the middle of nowhere with this lovely house that Svava and her husband own ... each nook and cranny has a beautiful story to tell and if you happen to run into the hosts (as we fortunately happened to) they will tell you about the stories behind the elements of the house that they designed and built (So you can image the amount of love that has gone into this place)...Svava was super prompt and proactive with suggestions, tips and helped us out with our transportation as well. Please do not expect to find the luxuries & amenities of a chain hotel or resort - expect a lovely experience that lets you completely detach from your normal routine and be transported into their world & you will go back with your soul feeling like it just took a spa day :) ... it is a little cut off from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street and tourists - so you will have to use the tuk tuk to get anywhere. We wish we had more time to explore the areas around the place!

Everything was great, 5 minutes walk to a very quiet stretch of beach and definitely walking distance from all the bars and restaurants in Hikkaduwa. The staff also organised a delightful lunch in a neighbouring home, they very sweet and the food was delicious! I would definitely stay here again!

Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt und eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und der Poolbereich sehr schön. Unser Highlight war auf jeden Fall vom Pool die Affen beobachten zu können. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und das Frühstück sehr lecker. Bei der Unterkunft ist man auf jeden Fall auf Verkehrsmittel angewiesen, was für uns aber kein Problem war, da wir mit dem Tuktuk angereist sind. Nachteile waren für uns: - An beiden Abenden hatten wir leider Probleme mit dem WLAN - wer geräuschempfindlich ist, wird abends/früh morgens den Zug hören und auch die Tiere machen natürlich Geräusche 😄 - die Liegen am Pool könnten Auflagen gebrauchen.

Rajive's place is incredible! It is on the lake rather than the beach, just about a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to the beach. The lake is so serene and private, away from the hustle bustle of the main hotel drag. The house is beautiful - well appointed, sparkling clean, great pool, and beautiful views. There are only a few rooms and they are all lovely. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was spacious, clean, and had a great view of the lake. The staff working at the property were excellent - the manager, assistant and chef. All were so attentive. The food was amazing! The chef made whatever we wanted, just ran to the market to get it and was so fresh and delicious. We had beautiful fresh lobster and jumbo prawns two days in a row for lunch. We went fishing on the lake which my husband really enjoyed and then the chef fried up the mullets we caught. Wish we could have stayed longer and strongly recommend it to those visiting Hikkaduwa! In Hikkaduwa do not miss the huge turtles at the beach - it was so fun to feed them seaweed and see them in the ocean :)

This was our favourite stay out of all our extensive travels. Dilini and her family went above and beyond to make it special. Breakfast was home-cooked and delicious, with a variety of local, homemade delights every morning, offering new surprises and flavours. The New Year’s feast was particularly special, shared with us along with some great games we enjoyed taking part in. Dilini, Channa, and the boys were kind and patient playing with our children (4.5yrs and 9months) making us feel very welcome. Thank you for the special memories and sharing your home and culture; we will be back! The surrounding nature and animals were amazing, with monkeys, kittens, and dogs living in harmony. The pool was wonderful, refreshing, and shaded in the afternoons which was a welcome respite for the heat! The location was great, with shops, spas, and good coffee nearby. We couldn’t ask for a better stay! Thank you for everything.

We enjoyed our stay. Our host and staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. The space is very serene, and the location is perfect - not far from shops and restaurants but at the same time quiet and peaceful. We felt very welcomed and very well taken care off.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön und die Lage super ruhig und privat. Wir haben uns gleich wie zuhause gefühlt. Berni und Prabath waren sehr nett, zuvorkommend und immer gut erreichbar. Auch den Transfer vom Flughafen und ein Roller haben die beiden direkt für uns organisiert. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt, wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Прекрасное место, всё в зелени, очень уютная комната со своей небольшое кухней. До пляжа и ресторанов недалеко, но всё равно лучше пользоваться услугами тук-тука, потому что тротуаров нет на дорогах практически. Нам очень понравилось пребывание в отеле, думаю мы сюда ещё вернёмся

Stedet er fantastisk. Alt er indrettet med kærlighed og i flotte farver. Da vi ankom så vi aber og en lille varan, samt masser af jordegern. Indika organiserede et madlavningskursus for os. Det har været fremragende. Poolen er dejlig og afslappende. Vi fik både morgen- og aftensmad og det smagte virkelig godt. En lille perle i et naturområde lige uden for Galle. Dog ligger prisen for Sri Lanka i den høje ende.

From before arriving Rivindu was super helpful with airport taxi and recommendations. The team at the house where even more amazing always helpful, friendly and doing their most to cater to our asks. From organising taxi/tuk tuk, cooking dinners and breakfast. Keeping the place clean. We had a power out due to a light raining period but everyone was on it fixing issues putting the back up solar generator on as the electric mains was down. This was only a small bump but the house didn't feel it much. The bed was super comfy and great pillows. We had breakfast in the pool and at the picnic table with the food being as nice as the views. Fresh fruits, drinks, eggs and toast. One night we had the seafood in latter, honey pork and Tom yum soup. It was super tasty and I'd recommend the Soup but only if you like it spicy! Amazing team, house, views and location to relax and unwind. Recommended!

We stayed in Shanil's place for 6 nights. We were greeted by Suranga and his team immediately after arriving we received a cool coconut drink and felt right at home. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Suranga and his team did an excellent job. Especially the food was fantastic, the chef did an excellent job. One of the best Srilanken food we had in our vacation in Sri Lanka. We had breakfast and dinner as well. The even provided our kids with western breakfast. We felt welcome from start to end and didn't want to leave. Hopefully we are back. The house with the 2 double room and the separate house with the family room is well set up and gives each guest his own privacy. The location is great with the beach and the ocean right in front of the house. With a 15min. Tuktuk ride you are both in Mirissa and Weligama. Thank you very much for having us.

Vi havde et dejligt ophold! Stedet var pænt og rent og personalet var meget behjælpelige og imødekommende og gjorde alt for at gøre vores ophold godt. Staying at Lakmali's place in Runakanda Forest is definitely one of my top 5 favorite places in Sri Lanka. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, especially with my mom, as it was her first time in Sri Lanka,and she absolutely loved every moment of it! The food was beyond incredible! Each meal was showcasing the rich and flavorful Sri Lankan cuisine. The peaceful and serene surroundings of the forest made it the perfect escape. It’s a truly tranquil place where we could relax, and the location was just ideal for enjoying authentic local experiences. We had the chance to pick tea just a short walk away from the cottage, a unique experience that we’ll never forget. We also had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, and the warm hospitality made our stay feel special. My mom and I both agreed that it was a stay we’ll cherish forever. I can’t recommend Lakmali’s place highly enough for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable experience in SL !

An absolute life saver for our small family. We even extended our stay by a few extra days. What Dom and Magda have created and built in Ahangama is a testament to their capabilities as a family and couple. They have achieved a level of comfort and detail that is incredibly hard to reach. They have designed a huge villa around the needs of young families with various suites and rooms that tick every box. They are also excellent hosts never too tired to help out and give advice or recommendations. Bravo guys 10/10 and we wish you every success for the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Jungle. We stayed almost 3 weeks. The rooms are classy, the view is amazing, and the location is convenient to all the shops. the staff are professional and very polite and helpful. The sand on the beach is lovely, light, and soft to walk on. The ocean here has fantastic bug eaves you can watch. Its fun to wade in but dangerous to swim a lot of the time. Great for boogie boarding. The food was great and the restaurant service was impeccable.. thank you to all the wonderful staff for allowing us to feel right at home.

I recently stayed at a stunning villa in Weligama, Sri Lanka, booked through Airbnb, and it was an exceptional experience for my family and me. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were cozy and clean, and the common areas offered plenty of room for our two children to play and relax. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the warm hospitality of the hosts. The host’s wife greeted us with a smile and served us the most delicious morning tea with milk . The villa is located in a very peaceful and quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle, making it the perfect retreat for families seeking tranquility. The environment felt safe and welcoming, and we appreciated how baby- and family-friendly the space was I highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Weligama

We stayed a week at Slow Life boutique hotel. It felt very safe and contained . Our room was lovely upstairs with a little balcony ,air conditioning and our own bathroom. Everything was very clean our sheets and towels were changed . The common area was available but when in the hotel we spent more time in our lovely cool bedroom. Marissa was interesting to explore . The southern end of the beach was a lot calmer to swim in. It was great watching the surfers at the northern end of the beach . The only thing that wasn’t available was facilities to cook our own food . But that was fine as there were so many lovely places to eat in Marissa. Our hosts organised a scooter for us to use . Thanks very much for everything.
