Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Our detached cottage for one traveller is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. It is a comfy private space with skylights, vaulted ceiling, spacious desk, very fast wifi, and a peaceful garden outlook. Located near the Seymour River and the Baden-Powell trail network. Close by are Capilano University, Capilano and Lynn Valley suspension bridges, Deep Cove Village, Maplewood Flats bird refuge, and Lonsdale Quay. This Airbnb was probably one of my favorite stays. Me and my friends stayed here on our trip to Squamish which was an hour away but this listing is in Deep Cove which is right by really scenic beaches and scenery and so beautiful at sunrise and sunset from the Airbnb. The host was super responsive and so understanding and friendly. I even asked them to help out at 11pm with the hottub and they did. They were amazing hosts and would recommend this stay there’s a hot tub, a cabin and a suite all really clean and comfortable.

My wife and I spent 9 days at Andrew’s apartment and absolutely loved it! Andrew was very friendly - he met us on arrival, showed us everything, and was always ready to help if we needed anything. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood and has a separate entrance, which gave us a nice sense of privacy. It was cozy, had all the amenities we needed, and the Wi-Fi was great. We especially enjoyed the patio - it was a highlight! Sitting by the outdoor fireplace in the evenings with an amazing view, even on rainy days thanks to the roof, was such a treat. We also brought our cat, and he felt very comfortable there too. I highly recommend this place and would love to come back!

Michelle’s place was amazing! Located right in Deep Cove the place is stunning with amazing views and a pristine landscape. The space was awesome, peaceful and very short driving distance to the city of Vancouver. I would 100% recommend staying here.
