Absolutely loved our stay, wish we booked longer than a night as everything was absolutely perfect! The cabin was beautiful and exactly as described, check in/ out was really well communicated and hosts were friendly too. Such a lovely and restful retreat

Dunty's Lodge @ Corncockle Estate

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at James and Sarah’s cabin. The surroundings were beautiful and it felt like a very private space despite being close to the main house. Everything in the cabin works great, comfortable bed, and there is everything you need to cook with. Expect to meet Coal and Carrot, two very friendly cats! Overall a great stay and very reasonable price. I’d recommend paying for the hot tub pre-lighting service as it took a very long time for us to heat it ourselves.

A ewe with a woolly coat stands beside her lamb in a grassy area. The lamb is small and has distinct black patches on its white fur. The sun casts gentle shadows, highlighting their features against a textured stone wall.

The Bothy At Kirkwood

Wow. What a pleasure to stay in Merlin's lovely cabin nestled in the woods, I can’t say enough about how beautiful the surroundings were! The serenity and natural beauty made for a perfect off-grid escape. The fresh air and the sounds of nature were simply refreshing, allowing for a much-needed getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cabin itself was cozy and well-appointed, providing a comfortable atmosphere to unwind. Whether it was sipping morning drink sat outside and stargazing at night, every moment felt special. I’m so thankful for this experience and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. If you’re considering a stay, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you for such a wonderful getaway!

The Old Schoolhouse

KaylaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Beautiful house with so much character. The location was so peaceful yet close to Dumfries where we were easily able to get take-out for dinner. We only stayed one night as a stopover on our way home but we found the house to be comfortable and well-equipped. The milk and water in the fridge plus all the seasonings/spices in the kitchen were such a nice surprise that we don't often find in AirBnBs, as were the very nice bathroom amenities. The only thing I'd mention - our daughter had us up at 5:30 am because there are only curtains, no blinds/shutters, in the bedrooms and, although the curtains are thick, it was still very bright in the bedrooms as soon as the sun started rising, which is very early at this time of year. Just keep this in mind if you're coming with young kids who are light sleepers!

Lovely central 2 bedroom apartment

JamesRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Only a short and sweet visit for one night, somewhere to rest our heads in between a couple of rounds of golf in the area. No issues at all with the property however, perfect for what we needed and ideally located (2 minute walk) into the centre of the town. We weren’t able to find a parking spot outside of the property but this was no issue as there is a large free car park 30-40yds down the road. Shower was nice and clean towels, linen etc all provided. Two separate bedrooms and a good sized communal area/living room with a smart TV.
