Little Suite in the Woods

Escape to the quiet woods of Mount Desert Island in a modern retreat within easy driving distance of Acadia National Park. The house is located on the quiet side of the island, 1/2 mile off of Rt. 198. As you depart 198 a gravel road takes you through dense forest, leaving behind the street noise and summer rush. When you arrive you are surrounded by woods with not another house in sight. If you are looking to be in town, this is not it. We are within walking distance of nature, nothing more.

Kick back and relax in this calm, modern and newly renovated cabin. The ocean access is a short walk across the street and down a lovely field. Explore over to Alley Island or enjoy watching the ebb and flow of the tides. The screened in porch beckons for that morning cup of Joe or an afternoon cocktail. Between Bar Harbor and Seal Harbor, 10 minutes by car to both and just 5 minutes by car to the Otter Cliff entrance to Acadia Park Loop Road. Walk to the Causeway via the Grover Path in 15 minutes. 5-minute walk to the Cadillac South Ridge Trail. Large high-ceiling studio with private parking and entrance with beautiful sheltered second-story deck. We are on the Blackwoods/Bar Harbor bus route so you can catch the free Island Explorer LL Bean buses to Bar Harbor and back.

Our modern log cabin has stunning views of Frenchmen Bay in a very private, serene location. With 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms & one large loft) /2 baths it is the perfect spot for a family or two to enjoy. Whether you enjoy sipping coffee on the deck, sitting by the ocean, or exploring the tide pools by the shore, there are many areas to enjoy. In Nov 2021- the cabin had full bathroom renovations & all new decor. Our other property is Bar Harbor Cedar Chalet.
