Rabbitrock Retreat

Coastal village. Rabbitrock Retreat is located towards the end of a dirt road among wildflower meadows and apple trees, quiet except for the sound of birds and distant church bells. It is named after a local landmark Rabbit Rock that exists in the woods near our house, known only by select locals who used to say you could “always catch a rabbit at Rabbit Rock”. It is a place of abundance for sure, and we are happy to get to share it.

We came for a long weekend to explore Maine. This location was great. An hour between all the sights. The neighborhood offer great restaurants. The place was clean and comfortable. A great spot to rest in between adventures. We loved the bagel place in town. Carol was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommended!

I was in town on business. This was a beautiful and well cared for space that enabled me to rest easy. The king sized bed and equally large walk-in shower are creature comforts that are enhanced by the overall ambiance of the room, ease of using overhead and bedside lights, and beautiful pottery.

I could not have asked for a more attentive host. I made an embarrassing amount of special requests, and she cheerfully provided for each one!!! She gave me great recommendations for all kinds of restaurants, trails, maybe the best ice cream I've ever had, did extra legwork to help me find a Covid test, was a TROOPER helping me to figure out how to work the TV, even invited me to a live music thing. She answered texts while out on a date and had her kids check for mail for me. She was a DREAM! Never interrupted me, but was always available when I needed her. In addition, her one bedroom place over the garage was PERFECT for me! Air conditioning, cozy but plenty of space, plenty of light, quiet, super comfy armchair, enough space to stretch on the super soft carpet, super nice new bathroom... it became my cocoon and I emerged completely rejuvenated and inspired. I'm very grateful, Susan. Thank you! (Hopefully other guests will ask for *slightly* fewer things than I did!!)

The location is in downtown Camden making it easy to walk to the harbor & restaurants. It is a surprisingly quiet apartment. It has wonderful big windows letting in early morning sunlight, there are room darkening curtains if needed. It is nice to have the complete kitchen. The towels are fluffy and clean, bed is comfortable, overall a great value considering it’s location. There are many wonderful day hikes nearby, excellent restaurants, and a beautiful harbor making Camden a place worth returning to. There is no designated day parking space, we found a convenient non designated parking space across the street to pull into to unload the car, overnight parking is usually easy to find a space nearby. The hosts were friendly, available, and attentive when we needed them. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we would like to stay here again.

Camden, Maine, became even more special with our stay at this Airbnb, hosted by the fantastic Deedee. The location, just up the street from Laite Beach and close to the Curtis Lighthouse lookout, provided unmatched convenience for exploring stores and restaurants. The internet service was reliable, and the television setup was user-friendly, addressing a personal pet peeve. The cleaning fee was clearly worth it, as the property was impeccably clean, allowing us to walk around barefoot without a speck of dirt. The mismatch of dishes and kitchen tools, a common occurrence in Airbnb kitchens, didn't bother us here as everything needed for meals was readily available. In summary, our stay was delightful, and we would undoubtedly choose this Airbnb again. Deedee's exceptional hosting, combined with the property's cleanliness and convenient location, made it a standout choice for a memorable retreat in the heart of Camden, Maine.

We loved our stay! The room was great and had everything we needed from towels to extra blankets and more than enough kitchen items. We stayed for three nights as we explored Acadia and loved that we were far enough from Bar Harbor that it felt like we weren’t tourists among the rest of the leaf peepers. The shower is small (just an FYI more than a negative note), but mighty! We loved the great water pressure and heat after hiking for several hours each day across the National Park. We felt right at home. We would highly recommend this spot for others and would stay again if we were in the area in the future.

Beautiful location, we enjoyed how quiet and private the cottage was, and right on the water too!!! Can’t beat that. Check out was simple and the host was available via phone call. Our only qualm was that the digital lock wasn’t working (which we were made aware of ahead of time) but they forgot to send us the code to access the key lockbox, which we didn’t realize until we were trying to check in… in the dark.. in the rain. Purely circumstantial, but it took a minute to figure out how to directly contact the company to get the code. Once we got in, everything was smooth sailing and we loved every second of our stay.
