Lyts Kastieltsje, a quiet cottage in an orchard

Lyts Kastieltsje is a short walk from the Waddenzee, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest tidal area on Earth. The cottage was once part of the cooling barn for the old fruit farm. It is surrounded by just over a hectare of gardens, orchards and meadow which provide a home for our three sheep, bees and many species of birds. The orchards contain plum, quince, medlar and different varieties of apple and pear trees. We also share the place our dog Jack, 10 ducks and some chickens.

This beautiful house right on the dike can accommodate up to 4 people. The centerpiece is the spacious terrace with its breathtaking view of the IJsselmeer. Whether spending time in the sun or watching the numerous surfers, sailing boats or water birds. Everyone really gets their money's worth here. The house was furnished with a lot of love to a high standard. Appliances such as a Bora hob and a Quooker hot water tap were installed in the kitchen. We look forward to seeing you.

Here in quiet Frisian Rohel you can really be outside, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin. Cycling and hiking along the meadows and (cold) swimming in the Tjeukemeer. Drink a glass of wine on the terrace on the water, with the view of infinity, under the old fruit trees in the garden. Apart from the sounds of birds, the rustling of the wind and in the distance a tractor, you don't hear anything at all here. The sunsets can be amazingly beautiful here.

Absolutely recommended, really a mega beautiful location and also a very nice, modern and new cottage. Really very cozy inside and also outside a very nice place to sit. Really enjoyed 2 beautiful nights in the tranquility! Very nice contact with the host and quick response. Felt at home!!

Nice apartment, everything you could need at your fingertips. Had a wonderful long weekend! literally 150 meters from the boat to the apartment. Bike rental even closer. Perfect location.

Very nice contact with Janneke. The apartment is well equipped. For our taste in style a little "baroque" (gold and bronze with a lot of fragrance), but that is a matter of taste. The apartment only has a hot plate, but it is good (induction), in addition there is an air fryer and a microwave. The mattresses of the two box spring beds are a little soft/sagging, but we prefer that to mattresses that are too hard. The surroundings are quiet and parking is not a problem.

A decorative table is set with a guest book and coasters, complemented by a vibrant flower arrangement in a vase. Soft textures and colors of the furnishings are visible in the background, suggesting a comfortable sleeping area.

The owner Lammert is the best Airbnb owner I have ever met. He is very kind and well prepared for everything in the apartment. The house looks exactly the same as the photos. All the decorations and furniture let me feel like home. Their some beautiful forest close to the house. During morning or evening you could be able to walking in the forest and enjoy the fresh air. Strongly recommend for anyone who would like to stay in this small beautiful town for a nice vacation. For sure I’ll stay in this house for next time.

Great place, very clean and cozy, you felt right at home in the chalet. The location was a bit isolated and you had to drive longer for activities/shopping because there wasn't much going on there. In terms of price, unfortunately, it's just a little too expensive for all the possibilities. The apartment Zwaluw has a very nice view from the large balcony. Hosts were very accommodating, friendly, concerned about our well-being and warm. For longer stays, bed linens and towels were exchanged and residual waste disposed of. Thus highly recommended. Gladly again, best regards, Sabine and Andreas.

We had a lovely stay. The place was private and had everything well-deserved rest for a few days. Bed was comfy and view was beautiful. The waterfront seating was our favorite. The surroundings are great too! We cycled over 80 kilometers. We definitely recommend this place 👍
