Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Austin County

This place was exactly what we needed. The space had lots of areas to gather indoors and out with loads of charm. Perfect spot to walk for coffee in the AM, a few easy walking blocks from downtown with cute shops and other bites along the way. Highly recommend the crepes at Lucie’s on Milam. Would absolutely go back for a getaway with the girls.

This was our second time staying at Casey’s place in Belleville and it was just as wonderful as we remembered!! Comfy bed and furniture, AC works great, kitchen does the trick for a few meals, the land is beautiful, lots of space for a private getaway, overall just an amazing easy weekend trip from Houston! We will be back again!

What a wonderful stay. We visited this home with another family, so we had 4 adults and 3 kids (all under 3 years old). The home was friendly for our littles, not too many breakables or unsafe items to worry about. We felt like there was plenty of space for all of us. The real highlight though was the scenery around the house. Pastures with flowers blooming full of goats, sheep, and a single donkey, pig, and turkey mixed in. Feeding the donkey was a favorite. They also had a chicken area with adult+baby chicks. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen, and it had everything we needed. We forgot to bring chicken bullion, and Nahida was kind enough to share some of hers. A couple notes that may be helpful for future visitors: Some of the doors stick a bit, and it was hard for our 3 year old to open them if they were closed all the way. The bathroom is only accessible through either of the bedrooms which was a bit tricky after we put the kids to bed having to sneak through.

What a beautiful, pastoral location. It was so peaceful watching my grandchildren pet all of the gentle animals.

My friends and I stayed at Tara and Charles' place for a week of antiquing in Round Top. This location was perfect, we were able to get away from the craziness of Round Top to a peaceful house in a quiet neighborhood.

I have tried to book Casa Flores for the Roundtop Warrenton Antiques Show for several years. This year I got lucky!!! My 12 year tradition is to find amazing lodging for the show and gather up some of my chick friends for an adventure! I need space for 4-6 fun living crazy women and I look for a space that suits my need for relaxation and kind of a spiritual vibe! Over the years attending Fall and Spring Shows I will say I have managed pretty well. With that said, Casa Flores hit all the bells and whistles for 5 friends wanting a middle of the week adventure! We assign meals, snacks, and drinks as the distance from town is what we want. House is full of all pots and pans! The winding scenic road down Skull Creek is out of a Texas Highways Magazine. Do not be put off by that review complaining about the road. Just know it is beautiful! Sitting on the front porch with coffee or wine we all decompressed and recharged. Remember the time with friends, family, and God matters!

We had a wonderful stay at the ranch. Very private and beautiful countryside. Was absolutely perfect for our group getaway!!! House has AMAZING character and there is lots of detail about its history which we also loved reading in the notes framed on the wall in the house. And the PORCH!!! Oh my goodness- perfect for an evening beer or wine! 🍷 So many friendly folks in the city of Columbus as well…. And appreciate the responsiveness of our hosts!! Will be staying here again!!!!

Ryan was so helpful and quick to reply to every question I had before booking. I arrived on a cold, rainy day, and from the minute I stepped inside I felt warm, cozy, and at home. Almeta House is a lovely restored old farm house, and Ryan's renovations were very much in keeping with the time period of the house while providing modern conveniences. Central heating worked perfectly during my cold weather trip, and there was always plenty of hot water. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I felt I had everything I needed during my stay.
