Family-friendly vacation rentals in Athens

Very peaceful and beautiful place, my family and I enjoyed it so much, my 70 old father and the adult grandkids said that is the new family vacation spot for summers when we go to visit our daughter. Very rustic, but well taken care of property. My dad loved the coffee they provided.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kristen’s place. We enjoyed dinner nearby on Lake Palestine, caught a few fish in the pond, enjoyed the hot tub, and slept well. It was definitely an outdoorsy, off the grid stay for us and that is what we wanted. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee, sodas, and snacks. Thank you Kristen for hosting.

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place!!! This house was gorgeous and very well-kept! The owners thought of everything that travelers may need. They also had various snacks, movies, and games for the children. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The owners have bird feeders up, so it was really nice getting to see all the birds flying around the backyard. There were so many beautiful cardinals and we saw 1 blue jay. Stephanie and Jan were such friendly and amazing people! Whatever we needed, they always answered quickly. The home was very comfortable and we had such a good stay! We were even allowed to have visitors! Most of the Airbnbs that we have stayed at did not allow visitors, so it was nice to be able to have our family over. We will definitely stay here again!

We drove over there from New Braunfels for a wedding. The home was able to accommodate our multiple families comfortably. We loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere all around. The pool was amazing and the place had everything we needed the entire stay. We had no need to go explore the town and just enjoyed the time we had. Briana was very helpful when I had questions and responded within minutes. She was amazing, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be booking there again in the near future.

My husband and I rented this cabin for 3 Days 2 nights anniversary stay. We really enjoyed the seclusion of not being super close to Neighbors, surrounded by trees and nature. It was very peaceful and Serene. The cabin had many amenities to keep us entertained while having romantic evenings. We loved the vaulted ceilings, the large porches, the hot tub, the porch swing was one of my favorite places to sit, and we loved the large two shower head shower. It was also cool that there was trails to the pond and other games to play in the coffee table. We had such a good time there and would recommend this cabin for any reason to go stay there. We hope to return in the future!

Peaceful getaway. We enjoyed our stay in the family cabin. The beds were very comfortable and there’s a nice back deck to sit on that’s enjoyable for morning coffee or a nice evening.

This was our second time to stay at Bob’s place in the guest house. The place is super nice and I recommend highly. The only thing we didn’t enjoy this time was there was another family in the main house that took up the main dock the entire time we were there. The family was super nice and I didn’t feel like it was my place to asked them for some time on that dock. Bob is in the process of building another dock so that will be shored up soon. There will be plenty of room when he is all done. Other than sharing the place with another family you couldn’t ask for a better place. It’s clean and beautiful. Thanks again Bob.

This place was amazing. They were extremely responsive and very accommodating. Looking forward to next year's trip.

We had a wonderful time at Liz's Airbnb. It was a beautiful house with such cute decor and it was extremely comfortable. The outdoors was amazing and had a fantastic view. We would love to stay there again!

I wish I didn't have a word limit, because this is the greatest AirBNB experience I've ever had. We were blown away - it so far exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect because you're 10 minutes from all the fun but you're far enough out that you feel safe, peaceful, and relaxed. The house is a dream, but the hosts and the property are what made it magical. Roland and his sweet wife are truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people I have ever encountered, I joked that I wished they could adopt us! And their property is a labor of love, built by Roland himself. Take quiet walks on the cobblestone paths and visit the cows and the fig trees, sip on coffee on the covered porch in the rocking chairs, or walk over to their little lake for a serene sunset. Truly I cannot say enough good things about this place. It has a piece of our hearts now. <3 And also, they were SO SWEET to our doggy who had just as great of a time here!!! :) Thank you Roland. We can't wait to come back.

This was the best airbnb I've atayed in. It was a beautiful home, the view was beautiful and very peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. I hated to leave 😊 Hope to get to stay again one day.

A nice peaceful place to stay if you’re visiting Tyler/Flint/East Texas!

This was our 3rd time staying for a girls getaway! It feels so homie & we LOVE the wrap around back porch overlooking the lake! We’ll be back again…many times lol

If you’re coming to First Monday, then this is a great place for your group. 14 beds is impressive, but the common area could be larger. There were so many unexpected extras — the hosts are very thoughtful. Plenty of parking, nice long driveway was good for walking laps in the morning. Only a couple of minutes to Canton. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the place highly.

The house and location were beautiful! Perfect for a weekend getaway with the family. The host was very very nice and responded quickly with any question we had. Would definitely recommend!

I had such an amazing stay at Judy's Country Cottage! Michelle was a wonderful host very friendly and helpful, she put alot of thought into the decor and every amenity you can think of. The reclining sofa and bed were super comfy. When I walked in from a long drive. Homemade cookies and muffins were there and tasted amazing! Also met her super gentle and adorable pooch, he's a gentle giant. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great place. Responsive host!! For some reason the master bedroom is just one of those bedrooms that you know you are going to sleep well in! And we did! Beautiful sunset! Coming back next season!!

Very cozy home with everything you need for a relaxing weekend! Cindy was kind and left all the necessary for a delicious breakfast and some snacks! We will definitely be back!

This was a comfy place to stay with our teen boys. It has a full kitchen with more appliances and pans than we could imagine using in a short stay! The carriage-house is tastefully decorated and suitable for men and boys as well as women (as in not completely covered in cat prints and floral patterns - lol). The hosts, Mike and Barbara, are wonderfully thoughtful and gracious. They took the time to give us a tour of the Manor House. We enjoyed chatting with them.

Hollie was very friendly and communication between us was great. Her directions were precise. Her home was very comfortable and inviting. She described her home and property accurately. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, sitting on the large patio and watching the deer at dusk. We had a very enjoyable time.

Michelle I greatly appreciate you sharing your wonderful home with my family. We will cherish the memory of being together always. Absolutely loved the waterfront property. Love the beach where I had a great time with my grandkids and the paddle boat! I stayed in the master bedroom which was extremely comfortable.. My granddaughters absolutely loved your toy closet. Beautiful spots to her but the starry night sky.
