Family-friendly vacation rentals in Henderson County

Very peaceful and beautiful place, my family and I enjoyed it so much, my 70 old father and the adult grandkids said that is the new family vacation spot for summers when we go to visit our daughter. Very rustic, but well taken care of property. My dad loved the coffee they provided.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kristen’s place. We enjoyed dinner nearby on Lake Palestine, caught a few fish in the pond, enjoyed the hot tub, and slept well. It was definitely an outdoorsy, off the grid stay for us and that is what we wanted. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee, sodas, and snacks. Thank you Kristen for hosting.

We drove over there from New Braunfels for a wedding. The home was able to accommodate our multiple families comfortably. We loved the quiet, peaceful atmosphere all around. The pool was amazing and the place had everything we needed the entire stay. We had no need to go explore the town and just enjoyed the time we had. Briana was very helpful when I had questions and responded within minutes. She was amazing, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be booking there again in the near future.

This house completely exceeded our expectations! There were so many activities and amenities that the group of teenagers I brought were easily entertained all weekend, even when the weather wasn’t cooperating. There is also enough space that everyone could spread out, and the layout is great. It’s in a super convenient location, so it was no problem to run to the store or go see a movie on a whim. The house was stocked with anything you could need. The area is quiet & peaceful with super nice neighbors. My kids are already asking me when we can go back!

Peaceful getaway. We enjoyed our stay in the family cabin. The beds were very comfortable and there’s a nice back deck to sit on that’s enjoyable for morning coffee or a nice evening.

We had the best time! The house was so cozy and charming. Great location. Neal was so accommodating and kind. We would love to stay here again in the future.

We had a wonderful time at Liz's Airbnb. It was a beautiful house with such cute decor and it was extremely comfortable. The outdoors was amazing and had a fantastic view. We would love to stay there again!

The place was very beautiful and the house reminded me of my grandparents home when I was a little girl. It was very nostalgic for me. The only issue that I had was getting the electric fence turned off. I didn't know exactly where to look and it was late in the evening when I arrived. But once I called Paula, everything was perfect. Great place....Great host....Great experience.

This was the best airbnb I've atayed in. It was a beautiful home, the view was beautiful and very peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. I hated to leave 😊 Hope to get to stay again one day.

This was our 3rd time staying for a girls getaway! It feels so homie & we LOVE the wrap around back porch overlooking the lake! We’ll be back again…many times lol

This was a great stay and we will definitely book here again when in the area. The host was lovely and so easy to communicate with; she went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed and felt at home. I would recommend this cottage to others for sure! Great place. Responsive host!! For some reason the master bedroom is just one of those bedrooms that you know you are going to sleep well in! And we did! Beautiful sunset! Coming back next season!!

Hollie was very friendly and communication between us was great. Her directions were precise. Her home was very comfortable and inviting. She described her home and property accurately. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, sitting on the large patio and watching the deer at dusk. We had a very enjoyable time.

Michelle I greatly appreciate you sharing your wonderful home with my family. We will cherish the memory of being together always. Absolutely loved the waterfront property. Love the beach where I had a great time with my grandkids and the paddle boat! I stayed in the master bedroom which was extremely comfortable.. My granddaughters absolutely loved your toy closet. Beautiful spots to her but the starry night sky.

We had a wonderful stay at Mindy’s Airbnb! The room was very comfortable, with a great TV and a fantastic location. The main master bedrooms are spacious, making it perfect for our group of youth kids and friends. We especially enjoyed kayaking in the afternoon, which added to the experience. The views from the property are absolutely stunning. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

Jannette was very responsive and was able to accommodate our group last minute. She also was very kind to take photos of some things I left back after check out. Their stay is perfect for a family wanting to get out of the city. She has plenty of great amenities for kids especially. And we were visited by a very sweet, unobtrusive, white fluffy dog. (I’m an animal person) so I gave her lots of pets. Thank you Jannette!

We were the very first renters here and can’t believe it took us so long to come back for seconds! The house is awesome and location can’t be beat. The house is fully stocked...extra towels, toiletries, condiments, games, books, sunscreen, bug spray, fishing supplies, life jackets, and so much more. The sleeping setup is great too. There’s a queen bed in every room and fun mattresses for the kids in the bunk house & upstairs! Don and Tanya are attentive hosts, ready with a quick response to any questions you may have. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or an action packed weekend, this house is the place to be. Oh and it’s always super clean too. ~Leslie
