House vacation rentals in Atenas

We recently returned from a 2 week stay at Mountain Queen. The pictures do not actually do this house justice. It is a large beautiful house with a gorgeous garden. Very quiet and quite rural area, which is what we always look for. The wildlife locally was amazing. Toucans are constantly close by. Caroline and Mark gave us loads of ideas for local restaurants and local days out. We ventured a bit further and actually left for a couple of nights, but felt happy that the place was being kept an eye on by Mark, who was local. All in all, an amazing stay. Great communication by the hosts before we arrived and while we were there. They helped to organise car hire, money exchange, and a lift to and from the airport. We hope to return!

Beautiful house that is exactly as described. The house is clean, thoughtful, very well appointed, and also very private. We had no trouble at all finding it, and our check-in was very easy. Andres and his sister are perfect hosts. The hot tub is brand new and absolutely wonderful. Perfect rating from me.

This place is so Serene! The views of the mountain is absolutely stunning! The days were hot but the nights were cool! A family of scarlet macaws came and hung out in the mornings while all other wildlife visited through the day. The open concept to the outdoors is so amazing! I just loved this house and hated to leave. When we come back to Costa Rica this is where we will be staying!

Jorge is incredible, our flight from Panama to Costa Rica had mechanical difficulties so we didn't get to Costa Rico until 10:30 p.m. After picking up a rental (which I highly recommend if you are staying here) it was after midnight. We had some difficulty finding the house Jorge came out to meet us rather than just do directions. The house was very comfortable and the bathroom including the amenities were fabulous!

The place is spectacular, the photos don't do it justice, it's 3 times more beautiful. Communication with the host was easy and the person in charge of receiving us was always very friendly and helpful. The house has an open concept with a spectacular garden and beautiful decoration, where you feel very much in contact with nature. The house has everything you need and even more, we really enjoyed the pool, the pool table and the dogs loved the space to explore it (the dog that takes care of the property is beautiful) We take advantage of the property's fruits, especially mangoes and mangas Finally, on Sunday we asked to check out later and they allowed it On the weekend of October 20 Thank you 🙏🏽 for your attention, my brothers enjoyed their birthday like never before...

A great house for private celebrations! David and Hubert were super attentive from the moment we arrived, we hope to return!

Carlo's place was great! We stayed almost a week and felt right at home. We saw many birds and even a couple frogs from the expansive living room and deck. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was much appreciated and worked great. The showers were nice. We cooked in the kitchens many mornings and were very happy with the set up and appliances. I also have to say that Cuidad Colon was a charming small town and I hope to return someday. All in all I highly recommend Carlo's place!

We (unfortunately) only stayed at this beautiful Airbnb for one night. Everything is really fantastic. It's a beautiful house. Very well maintained, an extremely great view. And everything is topped off by the cool Jacuzzi, which is on the terrace! Pre-heated for us – that was perfect. All in all, five-star deluxe. Great communication with the host –MELANY. Thank you so much for this great experience. We are in San Jose more often and will definitely take this little detour. Warm and welcoming best describes it. Thank you for everything and see you soon – not to forget – dog friend. With our three little dachshunds – a dream. Thank you. ❤️

The first thing you will notice when you arrive at Pablo's property is the attention paid to the architectural design - while the property is in the city just minutes from the San Jose airport, the interior seems to merge seamlessly with the garden space that is planted with mature Costi Rican flora, including a massive Mango tree. Similar attention has been paid to the interior design. It just all blends together. When we had a question, Pablo came over and was very helpful. We were not surprised to learn that Pablo is, in fact, an architect by trade. We then had a great conversation with Pablo about Costa Rican architecture and his approach to design. Finally, the beds are super comfy and we had a great sleep before getting up early to make our way to the airport. We definitely plan to return.

Rober’s villa was absolutely gorgeous! Every space was tastefully decorated with beautiful art & sculpture. The enclosed patios lined with bouganvillia along with the comfort of lounging & dining indoors made the space truly feel like a Mediterranean getaway worlds away from the hustle & bustle of the surrounding town. Will be our new go to anytime we’re in the area!

Thank you for this amazing place, we chose it to celebrate my dad's birthday. Our stay was like being in the clouds, total tranquility, pure nature and an experience that will always remain in our hearts. We will definitely return. Thank you 🙂

Our stay at this house was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the stunning natural surroundings – truly a peaceful oasis. The house itself is incredibly spacious, with everything you could possibly need for a fantastic family getaway. The location is perfect for nature lovers, with numerous hiking trails nearby. We spent evenings gathered around the fire pit for s'mores and stargazing – truly magical! The cozy fireplace inside and the bathtub were also a huge hit. Despite feeling wonderfully secluded, the house is also conveniently close to the town center, making it easy to grab groceries or explore local shops. This place really has it all.

Diana‘s Carara house was a great stay… beautiful home, well maintained, fully stocked kitchen! Juan Carlos (grounds keeper) was great… even chopped some coconuts for us! The back covered patio and rancho were awesome and gave a ton more living space… outside! Very close to Jaco and Orotina for beach and dining options. We would definitely stay again!

I enjoyed my time here. Great space for 3 adults. We felt very safe in this gated community and relaxed in the home. Had a little struggle figuring out the electric stove and sadly there is no oven in the home, but we made it work. The hosts were very kind and responsive to all the questions we had during our stay. Very nice home and exactly as pictured.

A quiet place to vacation, my family and I enjoyed the place, there was everything you needed, nice areas to share. A large green area for my furry friends to enjoy. Very attentive to detail to have everything we needed. Check-in was easy. We felt right at home. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent host, and one of the best equipped homes we have stayed in!! Very well decorated and sure made you feel the luxury component that this place offers. Directly around the corner from the unit is common area with conference rooms , gym, and an elegant lap pool backed by a forested setting! Highly recommended option!!

Wow! As others have said, this estate is even better in person. The location is great, and the house is just massive. We went with our four kids, and they absolutely loved the house. Extremely comfortable and comes with everything you could possibly need. Everyone involved is incredibly accommodating, and always there if you need assistance. I would certainly come back, and hope to!
