Exceptional river views

n the heart of the Loire Valley, along the Thouet River: a 700 square foot converted barn (newly renovated) with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The house is ideally-situated in the heart of the Anjou wine region, a few miles from Saumur (well-known for it's castle and the French National Horse-Riding School, ''Le Cadre Noir'', wine growers, and troglodytes sites). Also nearby: important castles in Angers, Chinon, Montreuil-Bellay, Brézé, as well as Europe's largest monastic center, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, which features an excellent music and cultural program. Other worthwhile day trips include the exquisite Loire Valley castles, such as: Chambord, Blois, Cheverny, Azay le Rideau, etc. The house, which is about 187 miles from Paris (300 km), or about 2 hours by TGV, can accomodate two couples with children (sleeps six altogether). The appartement includes : an entrance hall, a large sitting and dining room with a small equiped kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom, and a small bedroom on a mezzanine level.

Ideally located in a peaceful setting to explore the entire Loire Valley, its castles, and its excellent wines, near Chinon, a charming historic town, this accommodation is nestled on the edge of a forest, close to the Loire à Vélo cycling route. It offers 2 bedrooms, a parking space right in front of the house, and plenty of great advice on visits, restaurants, and more! Its atmosphere in winter is especially cozy. Pets are welcome. Probably the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in: a very pleasant, well-maintained and equipped accommodation with several terraces that allow you to enjoy the sun or shade as desired. The pool at our disposal was a delight for the children and the area is full of gems to discover. And for that, Henri and Anne-Marie will undoubtedly be able to inform you. A special mention for the quality of the hospitality of our hosts with very touching touches. A big thank you!

Had a wonderful stay at this chateau. Reception went very smoothly and they were always ready for us whenever we had any questions. They have also recommended us other vineyards nearby and arranged the winetastings for us. Cottage was very nice and tidy. No criticisms. Very much use was made of the beautiful large swimming pool with barbecue in the adjoining pool house. There were few other guests on the property so we almost had it to ourselves. Winetasting was also very nice and educational. We were welcomed as a bottle of wine but have bought a drink during the barbecue by the pool at the pool. The highlight of the entire chateau was the sweet affectionate cat who liked to stay in our cottage. 😁

The house is very nice and compliant with the photos. The beds are great and the cleanliness at the rendezvous. The welcome is simple and the communication is very easy and fast with Marie. The place is ideal to visit the Puy du Fou and the historical sites of this interior Vendee. We'll be happy to go back.
