Villa vacation rentals in Arco da Calheta

We had a really lovely stay at the villa, it had everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. Sergio was an amazing, polite, friendly and always responsive. Would love to come again sometime.

We had a fantastic time on the island. In addition to the nature that makes Madeira so fascinating, we were also able to spend some very relaxing days in our accommodation. Everything was just like in the pictures, so we could start our vacation with a great feeling. The accommodation was modern, clean and very luxurious with a pool and the number of rooms, each with its own bathroom. And who wouldn't want to wake up with a view of the sea? Wonderful. Henrique was also easy to contact if we had any questions and check-in with the key box was very simple. There is a small supermarket in this small town if you need anything. Otherwise, Calheta is not far away with larger shopping facilities. There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the accommodation, although the accommodation with its large kitchen and outdoor grill is of course also perfect for a meal. Thank you for a wonderful time in Madeira, we'd love to come back!

Eine sehr schöne und saubere Unterkunft. Viele Restaurants und Supermärkte in der Nähe. In der Umgebung gibt es viele Dinge zu entdecken, ob Strand oder Museen. Nach Funchal sind es ca. 40 Minuten, alles recht gut zu erreichen.

Wij hebben een hele fijne tijd gehad in deze ruime woning. Alles is voorhanden. De tuin is heerlijk en de ruimtes zijn groot! Ik zou deze accommodatie zeker aanraden.

Pasamos cuatro noches maravillosas en Madalena do Mar y la experiencia no pudo haber sido mejor. El pueblo es encantador, tranquilo y perfecto para desconectar, con unas vistas al mar impresionantes y atardeceres que parecen sacados de una postal. El alojamiento superó nuestras expectativas: limpio, cómodo y con todos los detalles bien pensados para que te sientas como en casa. Nos encantó despertar cada mañana con el sonido del mar de fondo y disfrutar del desayuno en la terraza con vistas a los platanales y al Atlántico. La ubicación es ideal para explorar la isla: cerca de Calheta, Ponta do Sol y otros puntos de interés, pero lo suficientemente alejada del bullicio para disfrutar de paz y naturaleza. Además, la gente del lugar fue increíblemente amable y hospitalaria. Se nota el calor humano madeirense. En resumen, fue una escapada perfecta. Recomendaríamos esta zona (y este alojamiento) sin dudarlo, y esperamos poder volver muy pronto.

Well what can I say about abor villa- By far the best air bnb we have ever stayed in. Absolutely exceptional and decorated beautifully, so artistic and clean and akin to a boutique hotel. Emma was a fantastic host, she made the whole stay exceptional for our young family. Personal touches such as a mini chair for our two year old with suitable cutlery, cups etc ready for us, even taking the trouble to remove the legs of the children’s bed so not too high from the ground. She provided a box of toys for our children and ensured staples were ready for us after a late flight so that the children had food and milk- something we whole heartedly appreciated. The position of the villa was ideal- close to the capital, excellent views , close to restaurants and local towns and ideally situated so easy to get to the northern sites of the island which really wasn’t far when renting a car. Emma was easily reachable and offered lots of recommendations. The pool and views exceptional, we will return!

Heerlijk huis. Compleet en veel privacy. Geen voorzieningen op loopafstand. Voor ons geen probleem, maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden. Het huis ligt ook hoog, wat zo een paar graden kan schelen. Als je hier verblijft, vergeet dan niet om te gaan eten in de Sunshine Pub&Grill. Een echte aanrader, zie ook reviews op Google.

De locatie is heel mooi, we hebben een mooie week gehad op Madeira. Het is bijna altijd zonnig op de locatie. Er is een keuken waar je zelf koken kan. Verder is het huis van alle gemakken voorzien. We misten wel bedden die los van elkaar stonden. Een hele mooie tijd gehad en een nice stay!

The property easily lives up to the description and the pictures. The houses are fully equipped, very nicely decorated and comfortable. The swimming pools offer stunning unobstructed views of the ocean during the day and of the sky at night. There are no road noises, the place is truly calm. Grocery stores are a few minutes away by car, as are restaurants. Numerous hikes can be found in the region. The host is very reactive and will provide many recommandations related to restaurants and activities. Renting both houses to two families is a great way to spend time together while also having some privacy. I would go back there without any hesitation.

A casa está extremamente bem localizada, numa zona tranquila e com uma vista deslumbrante para o mar. É o local ideal para descansar e aproveitar a paisagem. A casa está equipada com tudo o que é necessário para uma estadia confortável e sem preocupações. Foi uma excelente experiência — recomendo vivamente!

Sehr empfehlenswert, da traumhafte Aussicht aufs Meer und Funchal. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Äusserst grosszügige Unterkunft mit viel Platz und Stauraum. Eigene Auffahrt mit gedecktem Parkplatz. Für uns zu zweit kostenmässog am oberen Limit, wir bereuen aber keine Sekunde, die letzten Tage/Nächte unserer Madeira Reise dort verbracht zu haben. João hat auf unsere Anreisezeit sehr flexibel reagiert, Danke dafür!

Patricia und ihr Vater Carlos sind exzellente Gastgeber. Wir wurden herzlichst empfangen von Patricias Vater und willkommen geheissen mit Spezialitäten aus Madeira. Wir wurden umsorgt, wie wir es noch nie erlebt haben in einem Ferienhaus. Patricia hat eine hilfreiche Dokumentation über das Haus und Madeira und Funchal.. Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie (7 Erwachsene) in Patricias wunderschönen Haus und hatten alle genügend Platz (verschiedene Terrassen) grosses Haus. Jedes Zimmer eigenes Badezimmer. Zu Fuss ein paar Gehminuten von Funchals Altstadt und vielen Restaurants. Die Aussicht von den Terrassen und dem Pool ist phänomenal. Nicht zu übertreffen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, es waren unvergessliche Ferien. Danke Patricia und Carlos

One of the best I’ve ever stayed at. The place was so spacious and open, yet felt like at home and cozy. Everything we needed was readily available/ easily accessible. The home is perched up in Ponta do Sol, so the view is of the homes below, and then the drop off to the ocean. Private pool was clean and big enough for our family of 7. Private parking is a gamechanger anywhere in Portugal, and you have a whole driveway which fit our enormous van. Lots of good hikes in every direction so you never feel like you’re driving too much, everything is about 40 minutes from this location, even the other side of the island. Host was so great responsive despite the hour difference from where she is located. Thank you so much for our stay we loved it.

Beautiful house overlooking Funchal & ocean. House was well equipped with everything you may need during your stay (pool towels, baby high chair, gym equipment, fresh linens & very well stocked kitchen appliances). Short drive to shops & restaurants. The house is on a steep hill, you will likely need a car to get around town. Host was responsive and communicative. Would stay again.

Amazing space to rejuvenate and reconnect with the very special people in my life, enjoyed every inch of Grey Rock from the bespoke kitchen which had EVERYTHING you needed to cook superb dinners to the heated infinity pool over looking the ocean to the squishy cushions for the sunbeds…..we loved it!

Tökéletes hetet toltottunk Didier csodalatos házában es nagyon jól éreztük magunkat! Nagyon jól átgondolt, jól felszerelt, tiszta ház volt, minden igényt kielegitoen a konyhától, furdoszoban at a 29 fokra felfutott medenceig! Meg gym matrac, kettlebell, meg petanque is volt! 😉 Nagyon könnyű volt bejutni, idokorlatozas nélkül, nagyon részletes, érthető leírással, könnyű, ingyenes parkolással, akar 2 kocsi részére is. Nagy terekkel, nagyobb családoknak is tökéletes választás! Didier mindig gyorsan válaszolt, segitokesz, barátságos volt!

This is how AirBNB should be. The house is stacked with everything. How often are you in an Airbnb and they only have 6 plates? Here they have 20+, they have Great knives, tons of kitchenware, enough toilet paper, plenty of dishwasher tabs and also cleaner for the washing machine. Things you normally expect but somehow got lost in the making money machine Airbnb is now. Not here!! A absolute crazy welcome basket (have not had such a big one ever), friendly crew and absolute amazing place - can only recommend

Quiet and beautiful location surrounded by banana plantations. Quiet region of the island, 40 minutes from the airport. Very easy access to Fanal Forest and walks in that region. Responsive host, very clean house, spacious with all listed amenities. Well stocked kitchen for cooking at home. We used the space as a home base to explore all region of the island and I would recommend the space for groups, couples or families to explore from.

Fantastic villa. We stayed there as a family of four and loved the accommodation. The villa was spacious, clean and well equipped. The view was incredible looking out to sea from all the bedrooms, the living space and the pool area. The location was wonderful and close to beaches and hiking areas, less than a 20 minute drive to Calheta or the trekking areas in the mountains behind the house. Not really that far to anywhere on Maderia and we also had days out in Porto Moniz and even Canical was less than an hours drive. House was easy to find, check in was easy and hosts were very helpful throughout. Would highly recommend.

Villa Stella is located in really lovely place, with close enough supermarket and beech. Also close to the roads infrastructure and easy to get there. Still you have to be good driver to cope with the steepness of home access road. As the road is near, you do hear it, but it is OK, hence it is silent at night and in daytime you are normally out. Our major delight was a pool, for sure recommended to warm it up when night temperature is not so high. The house itself is well planned, convenient, spacious and clean. You can see some cockroach and ants, but it's inevitable in the climate of Madeira, and also - it takes a day and you don't mind any more. All in all - the house is wonderful and communication with our hosts was very easy. Thank You!

A beautiful house with stunning views, well equipped with plenty of space for everyone. Clive always responded quickly to any requests. The property is within 30mins of Funchal and perfect position to go and explore the coastline and mountains of Madeira Would thoroughly reccomend !
