Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Amhara

Dessiew is a phenomenal host he is happy to organise as much or as little as you require. Breakfast is superb and it’s a great place to meet other travellers. The WiFi is good as is the hot water. The homestay is a walk out of town which is fun during the day and easy by tuktuk at night. He sorted airport shuttle for us and his place is a 2 minute walk from the bus station if that’s how you arrive/depart. He’s planning a garden and a roof terrace - we’ll be back!

Martina's place is in the foothills of Yeka, a sub-city in the northeastern portion of Addis. It is a two-minute walk from Menelik II hospital and within walking distance of a relatively expensive Italian restaurant and a nice coffee shop/bakery (Koba Patisserie). The Airbnb/house itself is in a compound shared with a local family with two (very quiet) children. It has plenty of green and grassy areas, which is a huge privilege in Addis. Two cats and three friendly dogs share the space and are very protective of all the residents (and visitors!). The place was clean, had everything I needed (including snacks/breakfast from Martina), and entirely as advertised. I would recommend relying on mobile hotspot for internet, although even that can be spotty.

My stay in Seyfu’s place was astonishing. It was beyond my expectations. The house is beautiful, clean, and peaceful, which is near to the breathtaking Lalibela’s rock-hewn churches – just a walking distance and no need to take a transport. Seyfu was not only an exceptional host but also an incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated guide in Lalibela. His passion for Lalibela’s history and culture shone through his detailed explanation. Further, his family were also lovely, which made my stay so special – for sure, I would do it again. Thanks very much for your outstanding hospitality and guidance, and I hope to see you again soon!

Just perfect. The place was perfect. Very central. And the most : Michael is the perfect host. He helpt us so much during our stay, we really enjoyed the time with him. He is very kind and interesting ! We recommand

I had a nice stay at Alemayehu and Tade`s house. The house and garden is as showed on the photos. The water for the shower is hot. The accommodation is clean and outside of the center of Addis, thru this the air is cleaner and there is always a nice breeze. The neighbourhood is safe and just a 5min walk away there is a good bakery. To the center you can take a ride (Uber here) or Mini bus. Alemayehu and Tade are supporting you if you have any question. Alemayehu picked me up and dropped me off at the airport for a small fee. Tade is a passionate cook and baker.

I enjoyed myself at Hami's place. Hami is communicative and very helpful. I did not have phone service and Hami was kind enough to call Uber for me and to receiver calls from Uber drivers so that I could get back to her residence easily.
