We loved staying at Andrew and Debora's nostalgic Bedstee. It is obvious that it has been a labour of love creating this delightful space full of such charm. After a full day's activities out and about it was so lovely to return to the Bedstee just to enjoy the warmth of the wood heater and to gaze out over the loch. it is a peaceful place and perfect for unwinding reading books and playing board games. It is so quiet that all you hear is birdsong. The kitchen area works well and the bathroom is great with plenty of hot water on continuous heating. The alcove bed, reminiscent of the traditional style used in croft houses, was such fun and we slept very well. Andrew and Debora are great hosts - fully available to help if help is needed yet at the same time they totally respected our privacy. We would come to stay again in a heartbeat! Large house in beautiful setting next to the sea and backed by mountains. Excellent walks from the doorstep. Very well equipped and comfortable.

What a wonderful week! I went to Culkein/Assynt for the express purpose of getting away from the overwhelming excesses of London life, and I succeeded, thanks in no small part to Karen and Iain’s pod. The pod is beautifully situated with an uninterrupted view of the coast, waves breaking over rocks, fields of sheep. The place is easy to locate, and Karen was proactive in providing easy-to-follow directions. The pod itself has everything you’d want or need and is extremely comfortable. Culkein is a great location if you’re looking to hike nearby Suilven, go on walks or just relax on the deck and stare out to the sea. I have nothing but high recommendations based on my experience, and I have every intention of returning to the region - it’s stunning.

The place is rustic, but great views and surroundings. We spent our time in the front porch area, relaxing and taking in the views. A bit more heating would have been a bonus, but great to have washer and dryer to use FOC. Area is very remote so stock up, thanks for a great stay!
