Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Alphen aan den Rijn

Jochem's place is, as others have said, whimsical and creative. He is the ultimate host, very generous with snacks, groceries, coffee, and wine (thank you!). It is clear that he has worked hard to create a unique environment. Here is our list of pros and cons: Pros: Communicative, responsive, kind and generous host Great, safe location - we walked everywhere in this beautiful city Very well stocked fridge, a bottle of wine as a welcome Great shower Nice, big bed Washer and dryer Cons: While Jochem has created nice "mood" lighting, it was somewhat dark for us, and particularly for a woman trying to put on makeup, fix hair, etc. There was absolutely no storage for our clothing, and being on a long trip, it was a challenge living out of suitcases on the floor. The toilet room sink is very tiny with only cold water, and we had to use the kitchen sink to wash up and brush our teeth. I could barely walk around the bed as it takes up most of the bedroom.

It's a great house in a very quiet neighborhood. You can get to the beach and also to the shopping street very quickly. An absolute recommendation!

We stayed in Jorrit's house for the 3rd time and felt very comfortable again. The weather was dreamy. The screens on the terrace door and windows were very pleasant, because there were already many mosquitoes on the road. A walk to downtown Gouda is recommended. It almost always goes along the water. I think we will go to Jorrit's house more times!

Our host was incredibly nice and reactive. We definitely recommend her and her amazing house on the lac. The views and nature are stunning. We had so many beautiful activities (boat with a licence, free kayac, Gouda visits and museum, walks and bykes, restaurants). Clearly I have fallen in love with the region

We have stayed in many Airbnbs in Western Europe over many years and Hermanus is the most outstanding host we have ever encountered.

Meineke’s place is in a great location, just an 8 minute walk to grocery stores, historical center of Gouda and the train station. The house is comfortable and very clean. It is very well-appointed with every kitchen tool you can imagine. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that I think bears mentioning is that if you are sleeping on the top floor, you have to go down a flight of 13 steps to use the bathroom in the night. I’m 72 and need to do that once or twice every night and handled it well. There is a hand-rail and a night light. But, just something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues. Marianne manages the property and lives right next door. She greeted us upon arrival and was very responsive to all questions.

Really fantastic and peaceful house. I fully recommend it. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and it has everything. Two rooms one with king bed and the other room with two separate beds. One bathroom upstairs and toilet downstairs. Great kitchen with all appliances. I will definitely come back. This felt like a perfect cozy home. Has everything you need and extremely well thought out and intuitive. Staying in this home feels like sharing a slice of life. We had just the best experience. Parking: 10/10 Neighborhood: 10/10 The home is comfy and is designed to make you go "ahhhh.. so nice". I would wish for everyone to experience such a lovely stay as we did.

I had a wonderful stay! Bellatrix is a lovely and welcoming host, and the place is absolutely beautiful—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. I stayed with my dog Siva and we both loved the place and the outdoor space. Highly recommend!

The stay at Marjolein and Michiel's was exceptionally nice and cozy. Quietly located, beautiful ambiance with private pond terrace and garden. Ideal for cycling tours to the World Heritage Site to the mills in Kinderdijk, Rotterdam, as well as to Dordrecht. The water bus is also highly recommended! Since my husband turned 60, Michiel had thoughtfully put a nice bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for us in advance. Breakfast was very tasty and extensive. The beds are very comfortable. Overall, the room could be darkened well for sleeping. The car could be parked very safely in the courtyard. Thank you so much again for the wonderful stay!! It’s very good and charming place to stay

Nanda’s place is very spacious and comfortable, with lovely large windows and all the facilities you would need. The apartment is on the first floor (no lift!) with the hosts’ living area on the ground floor and bedrooms on the second floor. Easy 5 minute walk to buses, just 3 stops to Central Utrecht. Nanda was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Recommended!

Margor and Steven are nice and attentive, they give us a lot of helpful information about the area. The location is near the Zaandam train station and convenient when travelling to Amsterdam city centre. A very nice and cosy place to stay in NL.

Amazing location. Close walk to everything. Very narrow steep stairs but that was expected. Great for a couple or single wanting a central location in Amsterdam. Good communication and they accommodated our early arrival. Washer was a nice feature for this traveling for a few weeks in Europe.

The property is located 20 mins from Schiphol Airport, in a quiet gated community. The house was neat and clean and located beside a water canal. The kitchen and cutlery were well stocked. The furniture was comfortable. Plenty of towels provided. Easy to get to the city and to the other attractions. As stated in the description there is no washer / dryer. Bedrooms are located on the floor above the ground floor, the stairs are a bit steep. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very responsive, friendly and courteous. Upon request we were given a late checkout which was very helpful and very kind of the host. Indeed a superhost! Would love to come back someday!

Great place to stay, very peaceful.

After cycling round the countryside each day with friends, coming back to "Amazinghouse" was an extra treat to look forward to. Plenty of space Inside and out for everybody to chill. Kitchen & dining room very well laid out, so all involved at dinner. Great outside space and garden with good BBQ. Had a wonderful stay & Murielle went above & beyond.

We had a great evening in the house - everything was to our satisfaction! The kitchen was fully equipped and the associated grill was the highlight. The views were stunning, idyllic and quiet. There was also a paddle to use, unfortunately we couldn't do it because of the rain. Maybe next time! 💪🏼😌

We had a wonderful weekend with the family! Really enjoyed the fantastic garden and sauna. The house also has all the comforts. We were warmly received and there was pleasant communication with Kirsten. Absolutely recommended!

My family and I (there are five of us) found the place really spacious! It’s a great house that matched the description perfectly. It's surrounded by lots of restaurants and supermarkets, making it very walkable. The house is also located near a bus station, and it's just an 8-minute ride to the central station. It was a really nice place to stay! Moreover, the hosts were very friendly and responsive whenever we needed anything or had questions. Overall, we were really happy with our stay!

7 of us stayed here and I asked them if they would stay again... we/they all said yes. The only complaint is the road noise. The cars go around the roundabout and rev up their cars and the larger trucks must have a hard time getting around it as they too rev up their motors. The house and location were perfect.

Wonderful house if everything you can dream of for family vacation with kids. Lots of space. The garden and pool are a fantastic!
