House vacation rentals in Almyrida

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Philia. A lovely peaceful private house in the heart of the beautiful village of Gavalohori. Wonderful facilities, nice shady decks with great views of the White Mountains. The pool is amazing - you share it with the downstairs apartment, but it is super private. The local tavernas are amazing, and a nice little bakery and a couple of small convenience stores. Walking around Gavalohori is just beautiful. Angelos met us on arrival, shared his mother's home made spinach pies and of course, raki. The house was wonderfully ventilated with insect screens on all the windows - we didn't need to use the AC at all. If you are looking to escape the touristy towns, a stay at at Villa Philia in beautiful Gavalohori is a must.

The location of villa Adriana is perfect for people who love the quiet country side. No neighbours, but some goats , sheep and a cat who can see you walking in pyjamas in the garden in the morning. Very comfy and really huge beds! The kitchen has all the utensils you need to cook. There could be more light above the (electric) stove. The one from the extractor hood didn’t work. Compared with the beautiful bathroom and bedroom downstairs the kitchen is rather outdated. It was fine to cook nevertheless , especially with the delicious olive oil Alexandros gave us! Unfortunately it was not warm enough -end April, start of May- to swim in the pool, but the view of the pool with the garden full of flowers and olive trees and, on the background, the mountains still covered with a bit of snow was stunning anyway! I loved the road to the house: first drive through the village with narrow streets and then through the olive yards. Last but not least: the host Alexandros is very kind as well!

Very nice stay, big clean pool and awesome surroundings. BBQ lovers: there is a bbq on site but they will have to pre-check with the fire department if BBQing is allowed due to fire risk (pretty reasonable). For us it worked but take it as a heads up. Super cute place overall 😉

What a fantastic stay! The place itself is gorgeous - even better than pictured and lots of nice details, like high quality outdoor furniture, automatic sunshades, and a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need and more. We brought our baby and it was perfect - they even provided a baby cot. The beach is a lot rockier than expected from the photos, but still really nice with the sun beds and umbrellas and you can hear the ocean from the house. The hosts were absolutely lovely, very sweet and responsive and proactive about checking in. Parking is easy with a free lot next door. The only drawback is that it’s on a very busy main street and can be quite loud at night, so I’d recommend bringing earplugs. The walk into town feels longer than anticipated with the summer heat, but there are also some very nice restaurants a 5 min walk in the other direction that are worth checking out: Taverna Galera and Prima Plora are both great!

I recently stayed at this beautiful villa in Greece, and it exceeded all my expectations! The villa itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the bedrooms were cozy and inviting. I particularly loved spending time on the terrace, enjoying the serene views and the tranquil atmosphere. I truly recommend staying with Niko in this beautiful villa! The house is very modern, the outside area spectacular and private and the communication with Niko was clear and helpful. The accommodation works for both families and friends. The house is located around 30mins from Chania which is easy to get to by car. Can only recommend renting this villa.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Villa Cristina. The villa itself was stunning—secluded enough for peace and privacy, yet just a short walk from the beach and three great local restaurants, making the location ideal. Michael and Rebecca were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to make our stay special. We arrived with thoughtful gifts of fruit, cake, and local wine, and were even given some lovely mementoes from Crete and Villa Cristina. Their warm hospitality and excellent communication throughout made our experience even more enjoyable. The villa was spotless, beautifully presented, and equipped with everything we needed. In fact, it exceeded expectations. With nearby shops and restaurants adding to the convenience, everything was just as we’d hoped. We can’t recommend Villa Cristina highly enough. A truly relaxing and memorable getaway!

We had wonderful days with Kiriaki and Michalis. We have never been received and said goodbye to so nicely and extremely friendly, exceptional and heartwarming. Michalis fried us self-caught octopus: super delicious😋, thank you. Kyriaki and Michalis were very helpful and had plenty of tips in store for beautiful beaches or other beautiful things to do in the area. House and yard were very clean and perfectly prepared. In the courtyard in front of the house, you will find peace on two sun loungers. The intermediate cleaning with towel changes was also great. Thank you for that and the little touches in between. In the village itself, you can get to know Cretan cuisine in 3 restaurants in the evening. Food is also available on site. You can always find a parking space in the village square. And to the beach in Almeryda, you can roll 4 km down the mountain, sun and bathing pleasure are guaranteed. We fly home very well rested!!

Stayed two weeks in Lemon Tree House, partly working remotely, and loved it. Anthoula is a wonderful host, the house is in a perfect location: quiet, a couple of minutes from the seafront and restaurants with pretty, flower-filled front and back gardens. Kitchen is well-equipped, friendly welcome pack and twice weekly change of linen and towels. It is very good value for money - I can't wait to go back next year! The village has a great beach and plenty of choice of bars and tavernas and an easy bus ride into Chania if you don't have a car.

This place is fantastic. Two outdoor seating areas both with breathtaking views facing west so you can watch the sunset. We were there in December during Christmas and they had a nice wood burning stove to help warm the house in addition to an electric heater. There is nothing like the ambiance of a wood burning stove . They provided all of the firewood. They also had a fully stocked kitchen . It was an easy walk to town with all the restaurants. Almost all of which were closed when we went. The beaches are a walkable distance. One of the highlights was the Aradena gorge, a 30 minute drive. The trailhead is in a beautiful ancient town. The hike is technically challenging due to loose rocks. Honestly, one of my favorite things was the area. Off season, it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. I loved seeing all the goats and sheep on the hillsides. One thing to note is the bedroom is on the third floor and the bathroom is on the first floor. This was not an issue for us.

Great place. Will stay again in the future.

Sotiri’s is for anyone who desires an authentic Crete experience away from the commercial tourism. The place was clean, charming, and authentic with the extra treasure of Katarina’s eggs, baked goods, and vegetables. We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely hostess, in Katarina. She invited us down for coffee and her hospitality is beyond compare. With the help of Google translate, we were able to get to know each other and even met her family. We enjoyed the small village feel and the local people we met at the taverna and restaurant we frequented. Bought cat food at the little market to feed all the local cats that are regular fixtures of the island. It was such a delightful experience, we will treasure always.

We had a wonderful stay in Aptera. The location was perfect; close to Chania and an easy drive to other locations in western Crete but still rural, quiet, and private. There's an incredible view of the mountains right out of the front door. Mihalis was really friendly and gave us many local recommendations. We highly recommend a stay here!

We had the most fantastic family holiday here and can’t thank Giannis enough for being the perfect host! Her place is exactly as described and we will definitely be back! Thank you again for having us!

Everything about this place is perfect. It is clean and very comfortable. I have a hard time with stairs so the futon sleeper and downstairs bathroom were very convenient. It is a very short walk to everything you might want to do, including getting the bus to Chania. I look forward to booking here again.

The place is so beautiful and clean. The view from the outdoors is nice and peaceful. The scene of sheep eating grass multiple times a day in a small field under the pool is wonderful. (Photo first house) Maria, who showed us around, is so kind and nice.

From the minute we walked in the door until the last second we were there, Maria’s place impressed us. The views are stunning!! Every room has a balcony with a view. The view from the kitchen window above the sink and the outdoor sitting area next to the kitchen was magnificent. Everything was pristine, from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the outdoor areas. The bedrooms have double doors with pullout screens and roll down security/weather shutters. Thami Villa really was everything we hoped it would be and Maria was always responsive, helpful and friendly. We can’t wait to return!!!

Beautiful location and the hosts were so helpful throughout our stay

A fabulous holiday home for four adults looking to relax, swim, read and binge on local delicacies. The house and beautiful garden provide for great spots to sit in the shade for meals, morning coffee and sundowners. We had 10 days of sun and 32 Celsius, so we used the pool a lot. Great for chilling and swimming short tracks. Lunches in the wider Almyrida area are delicious and worth a short ride. The supermarkets are well stocked - we preferred the one at the east end of Plaka, which is an easy walk away. The house is well marked on Google Maps, the only reason we missed a left turn after Almyrida arriving was due to the darkness. Peter and Lydia are very kind and swift to respond to any questions, not that we had that many.

Incredible views with peaceful surroundings. Great little village where we were able to enjoy the sun and calm atmosphere. Absolutely stunning terrace. Can’t wait to come back.

One of the best villas I’ve stayed in as it felt so homely, and the outside area is gorgeous. We all loved it! Nikolaos was an amazing host and was always recommending places to visit and days out for us to try. The pool cleaner was easy to use, just put it in first thing in the morning and it will clean for around 2 hours. As well, having the robotic lawn mower mow the lawn while we were there too was a nice feature. Nikolaos was always responsive and made us feel right at home, as well as even leaving local olive oil for us to take back with us from our trip! The local taverna just at the bottom of the villa was sensational, and I would really recommend trying as much of the food off of the daily cooked menu as possible. Would stay here again!

This house was absolutely amazing – just like in the pictures, if not even better! The location right by the beach is truly breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. All the furniture and appliances are top-of-the-line – everything was spotless, high-quality, and incredibly comfortable. Ria was a fantastic host – super friendly, always quick to respond, and very helpful. We really appreciated how kind and welcoming she was. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would recommend this house to absolutely everyone. A perfect getaway!

This is a great little budget friendly place. You can easily walk down to the local market and Piperakis bakery, or the restaurants and beach. There is shaded parking with a gate if you wish to use it, and a little orange and lemon tree for fresh fruit. Having a second bathroom was great, though the shower in one isn’t really usable for more than rinsing feet. Three bedrooms with air con in each was also fantastic. The place feels very private and had just enough to make us comfortable.
