Family-friendly vacation rentals in Albemarle County

This house was a phenomenal stay for my wedding weekend. I love old southern houses and this place blew me away. Katie was very accommodating and responsive.

The Inn was the best place to prepare for and stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. We had everything we needed; the house was beautiful and clean; the beds were comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and around the fire after the festivities. We received 20% off the brewery restaurant and the food was extremely tasty. We highly recommend the Inn!

Stayed here for a bachelorette party. The house was perfect for our group. Bev was so nice and helpful - anything we needed she helped us out! The location is also great if you’re wanting to do a bit of everything - wineries, downtown shopping and dining out, breweries, etc! The yard is amazing and it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere when you’re outside on the deck. Highly recommend!

The house is fantastic, even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Loads of space to spread out, kids loved the many games and toys, adults loved the porch and kitchen.

The Fox Den is one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub, roasting marshmallows at the outdoor fireplace, grilling steak, and simply relaxing for a couple of days. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking and grilling. Although the cottage and hot tub are located next to the main house, we still felt a sense of privacy. We've been visiting different Airbnbs annually in the VA and PA areas, and the location of this one was excellent. We followed two of the recommendations from the provided guidebook, and they were amazing (Carter's Mountain Orchard and Fiorano Restaurant).

This was my first Air BnB experience. I was most pleased with the experience. The home was clean, well stocked and imminently comfortable. Great location, on a quiet residential street with easy access to all of the events we had planned. Sara was a delight, easy to work with, generous and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn and would come back again in a heartbeat! Dawn and Damond were friendly, approachable, and provided all kinds of local recommendations during our visit. Their apartment was spotless, light, and equipped with just about everything one could need. We'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, especially small families with children. First of all, Kate is a fantastic hostess. She was very accommodating, welcoming and communicative. I greatly appreciated her hospitality. The property is gorgeous and peaceful. It is like a peaceful spa oasis home away from home. You can find comfort in every room. The hot tub is glorious to soak in while staring at the nighttime sky or for watching the sunset. There is practically no light or noise pollution. You can hear the creek down the hill flowing. Most of your neighbors are cows grazing in a field down the drive or an adorable family of foxes on the property. It is a perfect spot to just get away, relax and enjoy a natural setting tucked away in a hillside. Kate has mindfully ensured guests have almost anything you may need to prepare meals in the kitchen. Also plenty of towels and linens. You are about a 15-20 minute drive away from everything C-Ville has to offer. Perfect distance to have access to all you may need and to have peace and quiet. Truly a wonderful spot.

This 3 night trip was part of our 2 week trip visiting family in VA. We chose this house because we have a small dog and thought the yard would be good to have. The house was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. Amy even left a nice little surprise for us. She answered all our questions and was very helpful. We enjoyed walking to the coffee house and being minutes from our son.

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

We stayed here for a wedding in Charlottesville and, while the cabin was a bit out of the way from where most guests were staying in town, it ended up being the best decision we made. Our group was too large for hotel rooms, and this cabin gave us the perfect place to spread out and relax. We honestly wished we had more time to enjoy the space itself—it's ideal for a peaceful getaway weekend. Unfortunately, wedding events kept us running around, but we could easily see ourselves coming back just to unwind and take it all in. The property offers plenty to do, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A couple of small suggestions that would’ve helped us (specifically as guests getting ready for a wedding): a full-length mirror in the downstairs bathroom and some brighter lighting in the bathrooms for hair and makeup. That said, these things wouldn’t be an issue for a regular weekend trip. Overall, a charming cabin that we hope to return to when we can truly enjoy it!

This place was very convenient for us to get to UVA for its graduation weekend. Communication with Charles was great and everything was clean and neat in the house. There were even snacks and coffee provided!

Very much enjoyed a short but sweet stay in this cabin! Appreciated the little touches including both fireplaces being set up for use upon arrival & maps of the area being laid out on the kitchen island. This quiet, pet-friendly Airbnb was a great escape for the weekend. Thank you for having us 🙂

Great location close to the arena. Much better than having to drive home 2 hours at midnight. Saw deer and a chipmunk in the yard so that was cool. Nice quiet neighborhood.

This house was such a wonderful little gem. We were traveling to see our daughter walk the stage at Liberty University. While it was a bit of a drive from campus, the peaceful setting and beautiful countryside made it more than worth it. The property was spacious, quiet, and a perfect retreat from the busy graduation weekend. Our grandsons were absolutely delighted by the sheepdog and the sheep — such a charming and unexpected bonus! The house itself was clean, well-stocked, and roomy enough to comfortably accommodate our entire group. It felt like a true home away from home. Susan was a thoughtful and gracious host, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell she really cares about the experience her guests have. We’re so grateful to have found this place and would absolutely stay again if we’re ever in the area.

We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

We stayed in this condo for a month and found it to be very comfortable. Although in an older, fairly large complex and on the ground level, we found it to be quiet, private, and secure. The kitchen was well stocked, all appliances in good working order, furnishings in good condition, and pleasant decor lending to a homey atmosphere. Condo is in a great location with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. All in all, a good experience. Angelique was immediately responsive to questions/concerns. We would definitely stay there again.

This is just someone opening their home, it is someone who loves to host; and it shows! Not only was the view incredible but the place felt like a home. From the little details (the “I forgot it at home” box, plenty of pool and bathroom towels, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, having freshly ground coffee/sugar/sweetener, having spices and any kitchen utensils you could need, and even a heart keychain on the door and my name on the chalkboard). The bed was so comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. The pool was great (although the weather was a little too cold for us to enjoy it fully)! The ceiling upstairs on one side of the bed was a little low but it was fine and worth it for a king bed. Every uber driver we had didn’t mind waiting for us as he just looked at the view. Would definitely stay here again!
