Waterfront vacation rentals in Achill Island

Four of us enjoyed the condo for seven nights. Beautiful view, spotless accommodation, quality towels and bed linens, all we needed in the kitchen. Mary and Phil went out of their way to provide alternative bedding when the weather turned warmer than expected. Truly responsive hosts. We look forward to returning to Newport, a charming village in easy reach of a variety of towns and attractions. Don’t miss Westport and Achill Island. And the Grainne Uaille pub’s Thursday night trad music session is grand!

Wir haben das erste Mal Irland (4-köpfige Familie) besucht und uns bewusst für eine ländlich liegende Unterkunft entschieden. Die Lage war traumhaft und besonders die naheliegenden Strände haben uns begeistert. Auch die Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge war wunderschön. Das Haus war geräumig und bot alles was wir brauchten. Es war ein guter Ausgangspunkt für unsere Unternehmungen mit dem Auto. Wir haben als Familie eine schöne gemeinsame Zeit verbracht und danken Margaret und ihrem Mann sehr für ihre Gastfreundschaft.

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend in Westport . The place was pristine, stylish and absolutely perfect for us. The location is ideal - with lots of great options for food and coffee on the doorstep overlooking the quay. The hosts were fantastic and proactive with their communication which made the run up and check out process very easy! We will definitely be back!

The place was absolutely beautiful, although it is a shared property, it felt extremely private and we never even ran into the other residents. Elaine/Kenneth are extremely thoughtful; they had the house so clean and tidy and even put a Happy Birthday cake in the fridge for us before our arrival as we had specified it was a Birthday trip away. Achill is an absolutely beautiful place and is only 15 minutes away from the property by car (the furthest part of the island being approx. 50 minutes away). Thank you so much for our stay and the many memories from such a beautiful place in the world. We hope to be back in coming years.

We had a great time staying at Carmel’s beautiful apartment. Have stayed several times with her over the years. You’ll not find a more pleasant host. Welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Can’t wait to stay with her again. Much love from myself and Sinead. 🇮🇪

I would definitely recommend Linda’s apartment. We were there for two weeks. The apartment was lovely and very convenient to the Quay and the town. Linda was an exceptionally responsive host!

The apartment had all we needed, was spottles clean and is in a quiet area. It's a 30-minute walk from the city, but you can also rent a bike or a cab to get there faster. There are a few restaurants, shops and nice walkable areas.

Irish hospitality at its best. Our hosts were lovely, bringing us freshly laid eggs most days and usually around at the end of the day for a friendly chat. The location was great, we loved our evening strolls along the beach. We hope to return someday.

Recently we stayed in Carme's place for two nights and it was a home away from home. The house is beautiful, spacious and cosy and it boasts a beautiful view of Croagh Patrick. I loved seeing the cows in the field while having my breakfast and the family sheep dog is so friendly. Thank you Carmel for your delicious home baked bread, jam and your farm eggs. It was such a lovely and welcoming gesture. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our only regret was that we only stayed for 2 nights! We will just have to come back!

A traditional Irish cottage, beautifully appointed. Suitable for two couples as the two double bedrooms both have ensuite shower rooms, with a downstairs lavatory also available. Newport is a characterful village (the inhabitants call it a town) and the public house next door has a welcoming landlord, good food and friendly locals. There are four or five other public houses in Newport, which we didn't have time to visit over a two night stay. We enjoyed our short visit to Mayo, and could have spent more time there. Waterfront cottage is well situated, extremely well kept and comfortably homely.

We had a great holiday. Good location, lots to do within walking distance. Very clean, comfortable house for for family of 5. Felt like home away from home. We would all happy go back. 😀

Highly recommend this beautiful house Lorna and Dave were fantastic hosts. The cleanest house we have ever stayed in. Our grandson had a great time with a full play room of toys and plenty of space to play outside. A wonderful stay. We would love to return.

We were 3 adult couples touring Ireland. The place is lovely with the river running next to the house. Hugh was there to meet us with instructions and recommendations and Anne had left us some homemade brown bread . It’s only a couple of minutes walking distance from the picturesque Cong village with lovely pubs and music on Thursdays to Sundays. Some lovely walks as well. Overall a great find and would defiantly stay again if in the area. The film The Quiet Man with John Wayne was filmed in Cong in 1951 so worth a watch before you go or you can watch on the DVD provided at the house.

Rachel was lovely, so helpful. Her instructions and helpful information were so extensive that we shouldn’t have needed to ask her anything but when I wanted to check anything, nothing was a problem. Her place is phenomenal- she has used the space so incredibly, with little touches like the Bose speaker, the record player and LPs and the gorgeous toiletries and little chocolates. And then the garden! What can I say - stunning. Completely enclosed and not overlooked and the flowers shrubs and trees are fantastic. Our dogs (and us) loved it. Such a peaceful setting overlooking the water and near the town centre. Highly recommend.

Eine traumhafte Lage mit Ausblick in jede Himmelsrichtung, jeweils ganz besonders und dadurch nie langweilig. Ein guter Startpunkt für etliche (Wander-) Touren. Auch hierzu Tipps erhalten. Sonne (wenn Sie denn scheint) von morgens bis abends am bzw im Haus. Wir haben bereits nach wenigen Tagen entschieden, dass wir nächstes Jahr wieder kommen wollen. Zum erholen genießen und abschalten eine der besten Unterkünfte die ich kenne. Und keine Angst vor der Zufahrt, ist wirklich absolut machbar und fordert weder ein besonderes Auto noch einen besonderen Fahrer.

Such an amazing location and a beautiful, cosy, pristine and comfortable house with stunning views. We (3 adults and 1 dog) Really enjoyed our refreshing walks on the beach with memorable sunrise & sunset views followed by cosy nights in by the roaring fires! Mary was great to deal with and super friendly. House had everything you could need and more. Cannot wait to return!

Lovely apartment in a great location fe Westport Quay, the town, Clew Bay and the surrounding areas. Christine (and Trish) were very friendly, helpful and communicative. Highly recommended.

Mary was so lovely and welcoming. She was easily contactable and so warm and friendly. We were keen to have a bit of privacy and she left us to our own devices to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The location of the apartment is really spectacular. Sitting in the hot tub looking out on the lake was a real highlight of the trip.

What a fantastic spot. We were 4 golfers and we each had a lovely bedroom with comfortable beds. We could see the golf course from the apartment. All Pubs and restaurants could be waked to and the beach was across the road. Fantastic place and we will be back.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Catherine's apartment, which was very comfortable, nicely laid out, very well equipped and very spacious. It's located on the top floor, at the rear of the building, which makes it very quiet and peaceful. Another positive is the fact that there is a parking space in the building as on-street parking outside always seemed to be full. It's in a great location, with bars, restaurants etc., in walking distance and there's even a convenience store nearby. We also found the location to be very convenient for access to the various attractions of the area. Overall, we were very pleased to have found this property and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We had a wonderful couple of days at Janet's apartment. very clean, private and perfectly situated in beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend and we will be back sometime in the future.

Amazing stay!!! Private, on the water, amazing views, quiet, spacious, fantastic hosts oh I don't even know where to stop with all the positive! Walk to Ashford Castle which we did, and into the village of Cong, oh what a gem this house, nobody else around you yet so close to all. Thank you for a fantastic stay, I will be back!!!!
