Our stay in the Monkey Attic was wonderful! The location was absolutely perfect, very centrally located to everything and close to the train station with easy access to the airport. Joris was a wonderful host, meeting us personally to help with check-in and get the lay of the “jungle”.🙂 Even though it is an attic in his home, the separate entrance made everything feel very private and Joris was great about maintaining that privacy while also being very responsive if needed. We were a family of 4 with two boys (13 and 11) and the size was perfect for us. As Joris has described, the stairs are steep but well worth the climb. We were so happy to find this little gem in the heart of everything and wouldn’t hesitate at all to stay here again!

Wonderful stay. Really lovely area, quiet but a short walk from lots of bars, shops and restaurants. Close to city centre too.

From the moment we got there and met David, he was very friendly, the accommodation was very clean, and had all amenities, great location, only a 15 minute walk to Dam square, the accommodation is in a quiet location, yet within a small walk there is plenty to do. We would definitely stay there again

In the vicinity of Amsterdam, next to a beautiful park for jogging and relaxing. Just a little difficult to access at night from the metro. I recommend it without hesitating!

Fantastic place. They will let you keep your bag before the check in time and after your check out. The front desk staff( the tall dude) was so nice and gave us a lot of recommendations.

More than we expected with stylish communal areas and good food/coffee. Absolutely recommendable!

The Hotel is excellent I thought sharing the bathroom was going to be complicated but NO and was always free and shiny,the breakfast very varied and Macos very helpful as all the staff would come back on my next HIGHLY RECOMMENDED trip!!

I had a truly comfortable and memorable stay at this charming spot right in the heart of Amsterdam. The room was surprisingly spacious for a solo traveler, The in-room sink was a thoughtful touch—super convenient for quick freshening up. The heater worked perfectly, and the strong WiFi kept me connected without a hitch. Breakfast was simple but satisfying! I especially enjoyed the latte macchiato, ham & cheese toastie, cherry tomatoes, cherry yoghurt, and fresh fruit. A lovely way to start the day. Carl, Tony, and Joseph are absolute gems—friendly, attentive, and truly made each guest feel special with their warm hospitality and personal touches. The location is unbeatable: a short 10-minute walk from Central Station and surrounded by all the best attractions the city has to offer. Yes, the stairs are steep and narrow (as is the Amsterdam charm!), but I was graciously helped with my luggage—such a thoughtful gesture that really made a difference.

Do not hesitate to book a room in this lovely boutique hotel. Mieke is a fabulous host, the room has everything you need, and you’re just 20 minutes’ walk (and a quick ferry) away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam city central. 5 stars all round

Mr Karl and staff are helpful and friendly. Though shared bathroom and toilet but it is super clean and convenient, bathroom has the best water temperature and pressure. Good breakfast and perfect location. Strongly recommend friends and relatives to stay when come to Amsterdam.
