This old house by the sea is a 10-second walk to the sea. You can see the sea from the house.

This was a great location close to the beach, in a quiet rural area. The home is rustic but has all of the amenities listed, including an annex with a western bedroom for those that may prefer to use the bunkbeds. We stayed in the main building which had a toilet at one end, shower at the other, with plenty of living space. We even made use of the washing machine! The futons were quite comfortable but given the age of the home and traditional constructions there was traffic noise evident at night. While we enjoyed our stay, this home is best suited for those under 5’8” tall…those of us around 6’ have to duck everywhere, especially in the kitchen.

Mark and Mae are excellent host with very good English. This made communicate easy, they helped us when needed to work with other as our Japanese is very basic. They were thoughtful, helpful and tried hard to make sure we were comfortable. The place is as described and peaceful. We enjoy sitting in the morning sun in the white chairs and walking the neighborhood. Great stay!

【10 min from Airport】Private Stay in Mitsuhama

The host was so kind, and the accommodation was so clean and well-maintained, so it was nice. The bedding is so nice!! I was worried because it was far from downtown Matsuyama, but the train station and the accommodation were a 15-minute walk? It was also elegant and nice to take the train to the city. I think the train fare was under 700 yen round trip. And the neighborhood is really quiet. I think that's the only downside. There are a few shops, but they don't open their doors... instead! There was a 24-hour grocery store, so I ate a lot of sushi lunch boxes. The ramen shop right across the street is also a restaurant. It is a picturesque fishing village landscape.

Minmi’s the perfect host. She really made me feel at home and provided nice recommendations. She even picked me up from the nearby train station. Her restaurant was closed, nevertheless she offered me fish and homemade orange juice!
