Beautiful location, private, pristine, peaceful. Lots of space, well set up for water activities, fireside chats, and relaxing the day away. The sauna is a wonderful addition. Well stocked with lots of towels and firewood, great layout with an open kitchen and comfortable living room.

We were so pleased with our stay! Beautiful location, wonderful sandy bottom lake, privacy, comfort, very well equipped kitchen. We will definitely book again!

Our stay was wonderful and the location/property is ideal for a relaxing getaway. We didn't get to use the rec room, but made ample use of the hot tub which was very nice to relax in. Quiet space and the screened in portion of the back deck is great for spending some evening time under the stars without the hassle of bugs.

Great spot to stay! Super close to both Summerville and Carters Beach. Very clean and comfortable place. We wish we could’ve made use of the fire pit/hot tub as it was lovely, it poured rain during our whole weekend stay. Would love to return to this same location for a future stay.

Lovely get away. So peaceful. The view- absolutely beautiful. The cottage feels brand new. The natural lighting - wonderful. Sleep to the sound of the ocean waves. Hot tub - perfect. Loved the slippers and robes. Jeffrey was welcoming and answered all questions. We felt at home right away. The cottage is one room with beautiful furnishings for each function. Chefs note...The kitchen counter space is tight, so don't plan on complex meals and no oven. We are thankful for our time and would visit again.

We enjoyed our time at Castaway Ocean Lodge. The location is very peaceful and scenic. We wanted to escape from the city and relax while taking in the ocean views- the deck was a perfect place to hangout. We had already been to the area before, so we knew that most of our time would be spent at the cottage. It had everything we needed. Loads of board games, all cooking necessities and even some kayaks! We explored Crescent beach in Lockeport and drove down to Carter’s Beach for the day (well worth it). Thanks for having us!

The cottage was a great place for a family get together - beautiful quiet roads for walking & cycling + paddling on Molega Lake. We also really enjoyed the big kitchen for making meals together.

We were looking for a quiet place near Annapolis Royal yet out-of-town, and we found it. The trips to surrounding towns, restaurants, and tourist sites were easy and there was little traffic. Although not all the rooms in the cabin have been fully renovated yet, Patrick thoughtfully provided comfortable furnishings, and there were many 'homey' touches that we appreciated, like adequate lighting in each room, good quality linens and towels, and flowers on the table. We enjoyed the well-supplied kitchen, great shower, and deck for relaxing, outdoor breakfasts, and views of Milbury Lake from the private beach. Patrick was a responsive host and made sure we arrived safely and had everything we needed.

The location was so beautiful and quiet! The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of seating inside and outside. The one amenity that we missed was a dryer but the portable washer worked well. The host was very communicative and we felt like we get got a great bargain. Even though I came from the west coast, I got up at sunrise each morning and it was memorable!

We very much enjoyed our getaway at Tracey’s charming little cottage. Comfortable and clean with lovely eclectic decor, this spot was a cozy place to spend the week. The cottage is nestled in the trees for privacy with a nice outdoor deck looking out to the ocean and lighthouse. Tracey was a responsive, generous, and accommodating host. Our favourite activity was walking the beaches. Nearby Crows Neck Beach and the stunning beaches on Cape Sable Island are must-sees. Even though our weather wasn’t perfect, exploring the beaches was uplifting even on grey, drizzly days. Another enjoyable activity was driving through rural communities to see some wonderful historic homes. There were quite a few restaurants within 20-30 minutes. Our favourite for lunch was The Salt Banker in Clark’s Harbour. Lots of options around for fried seafood and burgers, as well as some bistro-type dining in Shelburne. We absolutely recommend Witsend Cottage for a peaceful, relaxing visit.

We felt like we had a break from the world. It was peaceful, very cozy, charming, and comfortable. We slept like babies, even though it was cooler weather and we had to put wood in the stove for heat (something we enjoyed immensely). Kitchen was reasonably equipped, so we just cooked our own meals. If you’re ok with a few bugs and spiders here and there (nothing dangerous), you’ll love it. We plan to be back.

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing experience at Nancy & Darren’s Airbnb. It was as beautiful in person as it was in the pictures. Five stars across the board from communication with Nancy, the decor, design, all of the intricate touches, it was perfect, last but not least was the advantage of being able to bring our dog Dolly. We will be booking again in the future.

This was a great stay and we hope to be back. The weather was less than favorable but it didn't matter, we loved staying here. Beautiful location and an amazing home. It had everything we needed!

We stayed here over New Year’s and it was the perfect getaway. Super comfortable, cozy woodstove, and amazing views. We’d definitely return!

We loved our stay at this cute little cottage with a fabulous view, private yard with deck and fire pit, and beach access (though it was quite chilly, we enjoyed walking on the beach at low tide.) The cottage is comfortably furnished, the kitchen is well-stocked, the main bathroom is spacious, with large walk-in shower, separate soaking tub, and updated fixtures. There are games, puzzles, DVDs for entertainment, and a basket full of local guides. It is a short drive to Digby, which has a large supermarket that will cook fresh lobster for you while you shop, adjacent to a wine store with a reasonable selection of wine. The host, Jane, was readily reachable, and gave us some additional tips for enjoying the area.

Thank you so much for opening your camp to our family! it was a wonderful time. We hope to book again in the future!

It was a lovely little place. Had everything you would ever want.

This was the exact space I needed for a break with my dogs. Absolutely decadent to just open the door and relax while the dogs enjoyed huge fenced area. Lots of space to explore and play, but with few neighbours, so not much to bark at. I never saw another person on the shoreline, so the dogs were a minute from free running and sniffing and swimming. I was amazed how well equiped the house was. I can only think of one thing I wished for that I didnt find with enough poking around. I needed a space away from things and this was it, while also being a reasonable drive from a variety of stores, should I need them. The bed was comfortable, the internet was quick and our only set back was quickly resolved. My perfect week. Several friends seeing my FB pics have their sights on it for their own dog getaways and I hope to get back there with my husband. If you are bringing dogs I do suggest bringing along some rubber-backed mats to put around so they have islands of nonslip surfface.

The place was surrounded by beautiful nature and right in front of the lake. The host provided kayak, fishing rods that we could enjoy at the lake side. A beautiful place for stargazing too. We had a great time together as a family. The host was very responsive to our questions during our stay.

Ginny was the most lovely and gracious host. From the very first time she reached out, I felt her kindness and sincerity. She even offered an early check in, where no one had stayed the day before. She didn't need to do that, but it was incredibly thoughtful and just made us feel more welcomed. We were so excited see this place, and it didn't disappoint. The house was a beautiful combination of rustic and modern. Every accent and piece of furniture was thought out, and just added to the uniqueness of the property. The claw foot bath tub was my favourite. I would come back for that alone! I highly recommend checking this place out, especially in the fall. You can't beat Autumn in the Valley.

One week at Paula's place was not enough! We absolutely loved our stay. Paula's cottage is a 5-star plus. The large living room flows into a large eat-in kitchen. The hallway to the principal bedroom has room for a full washer, dryer, and bathroom. Two bedrooms are at the opposite end which is great if you have adult kids visit. The backyard has a BBQ and rockers to watch the beautiful sunsets. Paula has put a booklet together with loads of information. We barely left the island, we visited one spectacular beach after another. We loved them no matter the weather—so much room to walk and talk and enjoy the waves. We met some local lads fishing at the harbour and got to talking to a retired lobster fisherman, everyone was so friendly. We then went for a tasty lunch at West Head Takeout. We had two scrumptious meals at the Salt Banker. This trip has brought home how important it is to slow down and enjoy life. Paula, thanks for sharing your piece of paradise Carolyn and Dan

Beautiful spot and exceptional hosts. Every little detail you could want has been thought of and addressed - and it was extremely kid friendly. Travelling with a toddler and a 6 year old, they loved the box of legos and the board games, as well as the kid-sized kayak. It was beautiful, peaceful, and private. The bedrooms are as described though the basement can be damp so there is a bit of a musty smell (no fault of the hosts). There is a dehumidifier running constantly. Overall it was a great stay and we really enjoyed it.
