Vacation rentals with a kayak in Whatcom County

Ten of us ladies stayed here for a relaxing girls weekend. It was perfect. There were few issues with getting upstairs propane stove to work, but the downstairs one worked just fine. We had to buy more TP & kitchen garbage bags for the house since we couldn’t find anymore, but still worth it. Overall it was a fabulous stay with a fabulous view!

BEAUTIFUL! Jan’s place was wonderful. It was clean, cozy and welcoming. It was stocked with everything you need and I was pleasantly surprised by the coffee and creamer stash! I also enjoyed the available computer monitor and desk area, unfortunately I had school work to do but the second screen came in handy.

The Lake Samish home was absolutely beautiful and we truly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen/living/dining area was expansive, well-stocked and cozy. The downstairs bunk room/kids area was the best we've seen. Our kids had so much fun and we couldn't believe how many activities there were for them to do. The upstairs master is breathtaking. Carlee and Mark were very responsive and accommodating. They forewarned us that their new couch delivery was delayed, but provided us a cozy living area, regardless and stocked the wine rack for us as a kind gesture for the missing couch. We would love to stay here again and will probably book for the summer next time!

We loved the seclusion and nature that surrounded this lovely home. It was the perfect size for our group of 7 with three teenagers and four adults.

Our stay was an incredibly amazing experience. The host is wonderful. We loved it—we didn't want to leave! It's the best meditative place we've ever had. I highly recommend for anyone to going there. You will be glad you did.

The stay at Maisie’s place exceeded expectations. Location was great and weather cooperated for lake swimming and hot tub warm-ups. We are already planning a return in warmer weather with kids.

Words cannot describe how special this place is. We were lucky enough to stay for almost a month, and the house and beach just kept on giving. The space has an incredible view out to the Salish sea, and we watched a parade of herons, bald eagles, and numerous other seabirds from the front deck. The house is equipped with everything you need and more, full of whimsy and fun art supplies, games, the best blankets and comforters ever, and two cozy fireplaces. The photos do not do the house justice; it's huge and modern, open plan, but with lots of private sitting spaces. Dawn and Zach are the kindest, most wonderful hosts. There's a reason the Sunset house has hundreds of rave reviews. If you have a chance to book it, don't hesitate.

We had a girl's weekend at the Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is pretty special. Amazing views and many different ways to enjoy them, from the hot tub, deck, meandering gardens, or the sauna right over the water. The house was very comfortable and well-appointed. We loved it so much we plan to make it an annual tradition.

My friends and I had a very pleasant stay. We were within driving distance of many fun activities and shops on the island. The house was clean and there was lots of seating. We took advantage of the hot tub, kitchen, and tv. I liked the big ottoman for playing games. Would stay again!

We loved our stay at Willow Cottage. The house was cozy and warm, the location was fantastic and Jennifer was incredibly friendly. Our family of four visited in late December and had a wonderful time reading by the fire, watching movies, hiking Turtleback Mountain, cooking and doing all the fun local activities. It was also a great place for our dog. We wondered whether the wifi would be strong enough to watch movies, but aside from a little pixelation, it was totally fine. We'd return in a heartbeat!

We had an absolutely lovely family Thanksgiving at Wine Down, due in large part to the very well equipped kitchen, large dining table, cozy atmosphere, great variety of board games and responsiveness of the host! Check in and out times were very flexible, taking the pressure and rush off of our family time. Super responsive host with great information. Even though Point Roberts isn’t typically considered a fall or winter destination location, it proved to be the perfect spot and the perfect clean, cozy, spacious home for our family holiday. With its proximity to pretty robust Canadian towns, the local wildlife (bald eagles!), friendly townsfolk and 5 star host, would happily stay at Wine Down again!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay with Lynna and Dennis. The cottage was just as described, just steps from the waterfront and we enjoyed the private beaches and daily kayaking excursions from the dock. What a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing spot. My only regret is that we could not stay longer.... but we will, next time. Lynna provided very helpful instructions ahead of time about the ferry and reservations. The cottages are both charming and fully-equipped, very clean and everything was as-written. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, both in Westsound (a few) and more options in Eastsound and beyond. I'd highly recommend, and we're already planning our next trip back.

Great location looking out over the marina in West Sound. Close to hiking trails overlooking the islands, easy to get everywhere else on the island.

Sarita’s place is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway from Seattle! 8 of us stayed in the place and it did not feel crammed at all! The kitchen is very well stocked, tons of towels and extra blankets and the deck is great! Highly highly recommend

Kim's place was absolutely stunning—right on the beach! You can’t go wrong with a location like that. The home had everything our crew needed to feel comfortable and at home. Communication was excellent throughout our stay. When we had an issue with the washer, we sent a message, and someone was there within 30 minutes to resolve it. Thank you for providing such a warm and welcoming place for us to stay while we were in town for work!

We loved our weekend at this home on Orcas. The location was great to wake up to and the home was well stocked and clean when we arrived and had tons of amenities. Would definitely stay here again!

Ben was wonderful to coordinate with and very amenable! We couldn't have asked for a nicer host. The house is great for early risers as the chicken coop comes with an early alarm clock.

This house was one of my favorite Airbnb’s yet. It easily served our sleeping needs. I liked how there were thermostats in each room, including the bathrooms. The kitchen was well appointed and my favorite - they left a welcome basket with sparkling water and wine. The house is situated only 1/2 mile from a great park for hiking, strolling and mountain biking. As for the beautiful Whatcom Lake, there were some stairs to get down to the sitting area where we could watch the mergansers and even a few loons. We didn’t take advantage of the kayaks and canoe, but one of us took a couple of cold plunges (not my thing). We were there in the first of April and the water was still cold! I highly recommend this house and location.

We loved our stay at Brian’s place. It was tucked away in a peaceful quiet corner and yet easily accessible. The house was just was we needed, the kitchen was fully equipped for our needs and the instructions on the amenities were super clear. Would definitely recommend the place to friends traveling up north from Seattle.

We had a great stay at Dawn’s place. It had everything we needed and the space was super cozy. Internet was fast and reliable, which was important as I worked remotely from the house. Dawn was easy to communicate with. Would come again :).
