Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Whatcom County

I’m in a long distance relationship and my partner and I like to do airbnbs during his visits here to check out different areas-I knew he would love the accessibility to the trails from Dawns house. My 6yr old son LOVED the downstairs and bunk bed despite how cold it was. The pellet stove was a bit intimidating to figure out so we left it alone. Downstairs did have a bit of a cat pee smell-my kiddo wasn’t bothered because his allergies were so bad he couldn’t smell (not a pet allergy, just the wild cottonwood this year), but it was hard for me to stay down there. The hot tub was an added bonus, it probably could’ve been cleaned a bit better before our stay but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Overall beautiful home and comfortable stay.

When we walked in, we could instantly see how clean and well loved the home was. The proximity to the beach was awesome and the panaramic view exceptional from most of the windows. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. This home is a gem. Thanks Sim!

What a wonderful spot! Emily's house felt like a modern cabin in the woods, with very thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor areas. The house has amazing, almost direct access to the Galbraith trail system (which we really appreciated, as mountain bikers); and its location along Lakeway Drive means you're a short drive to everything Bellingham has to offer. The kitchen is also fully stocked and you would be able to whip up just about any meal you could imagine, if you wanted to! We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again.

If you’re visiting Bellingham or are looking for a relaxing getaway with family, this is the place. Very comfortable home with a beautiful view. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. It wasn’t far from good restaurants and activities. We liked the outdoor lights and fire pit. While we didn’t sit outside, it looked inviting. We’d stay there again!

Wir haben fünf wunderbare Nächte im Haus am See verbracht. Es war absolut ruhig, die Aussicht auf den See wunderschön. Wir haben unser Frühstück selbst gemacht und abends gegrillt oder gekocht. Dabei bot die Küche alle nötigen Utensilien. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es fehlt wirklich an nichts! Wir waren uns einig, dass wir noch nie in einem so schönen und gemütlichen AirBnB übernachtet haben. Unbedingt erwähnen möchte ich noch den saisonalen Blumenstrauß, der als Willkommensgruß auf dem Tisch stand. Danke Lindsey!

What an amazing home!! We loved the cottage decor with all the little nooks to hang out, books and games, telescope, cozy blankets. The views from the living room and patio were spectacular. We spent our mornings watching hundreds of herons fishing in the low tide! Walking down the beach to the southern point was so quiet and peaceful. Then ending our nights back out on the patio with a fire - such a relaxing time. Dawn’s home was also so great for our pup. He loved basking in the sun on the patio and exploring the water just steps away. Driving the short loop toward the ferry is well worth the amazing view of Mt Baker, and we enjoyed a little ferry trip to Lummi island, although the cottage is so comfortable and relaxing, we would have been happy not leaving at all during the day too!

We came here as 3 moms on a Mother's Day weekend getaway. It was everything the doctor ordered: peace and quiet, a beach within walking distance, birds all around and the delightful town of Fairhaven just up the road. We loved the comfortable lived-in feel of the house. So many Airbnbs these days are without personality; this is a home that has been lived in and loved, filled with the books and art of a family that loved their home and its beautiful setting. We watched birds, took hikes, completed a jigsaw puzzle and explored the shops of Fairhaven. It is hard to ask for anything more. The beds were comfortable, the view from the deck was amazing, it had everything we needed - without being remotely pretentious.

We had a lovely stay over Memorial Day weekend. Our unit was cleaned and prepped sooner than our checkin time. Alyce messaged that we were welcome to check in early. This was unexpected but a very nice surprise! Alyce was always very responsive to my messages. We would not hesitate to recommend your place.

Great place to stay for the weekend and explore the area! Megan and Kenny left very helpful and detailed instructions regarding check in and what was available in/around the property, and were helpful and responsive when we asked questions. I would recommend bringing groceries, there is a pizza place right next door but not many other food options nearby. Kitchen is well stocked with all you need for cooking. Stayed with family (4 adults, plus a dog) and it was a good amount of space for us for the weekend but might have felt crowded if staying for a longer period of time. Any side notes about the unit (loft getting hot, for example) are well explained in the description and I think the description and photos accurately reflect the actual unit very well. I will add that the bathroom fan is rather loud, so make sure everyone in your group is done showering before others want to sleep! Overall thank you to Megan and Kenny for a great place to stay!

This was a great place to stay at. The host was quick with communications and helpful with suggestions for activities. You have your own outdoor seating area, bbq and fire pit. I would definitely stay here again.

We LOVE this condo and Alyce is excellent to work with too! The view is even more spectacular than the pics and we loved how close it is to walk to all the shops , restaurants, beach area and to all of the musicians playing at Orcasfest! It’s also a very central location for Moran State Park and Mount Constitution . Also. Obstruction Pass State Park, and Deer Harbor Charters for whale watching tour. Alyce had our Condo ready at 10:30 am and It was so awesome to be able to check in that early. I highly recommending staying here! It’s an excellent place to stay with excellent service! Thank you! We loved this place! It’s close to Whatcom Falls, Western (10 min to north campus), and grocery stores. It was a perfect size for three of us to stay with room for one or two more to visit and exactly as described in the listing. Brenda was very responsive. We enjoyed having the kettle and French press for both the coffee drinking and tea drinking members of the family :). We’ll be saving it in our Bellingham list for future visits.

Kim is very friendly, great communication, very flexible :) place is very cute and in beautiful surroundings.

Emma’s place was very nice. Accurate description, very clean and well decorated. Had all the basic needs in the kitchenette, including a pour over/hot water pot. The bathroom was modern with heated floors. Communication with Emma was great! Checkout was simple. Lovely space in a wooded area which was quiet and relaxing.

Simple, clean, affordable, near nature. The unit fit my needs perfectly for a solo getaway to Orcas for the weekend. Casey was prompt/clear with his communication, and the property was easy to find. Great stay.

It was fun watching the tide come in and out. The place wasn't squeaky clean, but I thought it still merited 5 stars for cleanliness. It would have been nice to have stayed longer and to have made use of the boats and firepit onsite, but we did enjoy the nicely decorated interior and the lovely deck.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mish’s cabin! The cabin was beautiful, exactly as described. It was extremely clean with a very cozy feel. The hot tub was a nice addition and well kept. There was everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay including extras like bathroom amenities and a fully stocked kitchen. The gas fireplace kept us warm and toasty. The area was wonderful with access to local hiking and Mt Baker. Mish was a wonderful host and kept great communication with us. Overall, our stay at this cabin was amazing! We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a place to stay in the area.

We went for a peaceful weekend getaway and got exactly what we wanted! The kitchen was well stocked, the hot tub was clean and relaxing, and the mountains were gorgeous. Easy to get to from Seattle with amazing hikes, local food, and beer. What more could you want? Will definitely stay again. Sherry and Stu

We absolutely loved our stay at the Red Cabin! From the moment we arrived, we instantly fell in love. Every detail was thoughtfully curated and the entire space was spotless—truly not a speck of dirt. It was exactly what we needed for our 10-year wedding anniversary—a peaceful escape from the busyness of everyday life. The hot tub and fireplace were amazing—so relaxing and cozy—and the string lights at night made everything feel magical and beautiful. It was the perfect romantic getaway. We left feeling refreshed and would absolutely consider staying here again. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous place - even nicer than the photos! Loved the hot tub and how peaceful and verdant it was on the back deck. Comfy beds too. We went for a mountain biking trip and the trails were close by. A great place for a true getaway! A surprisingly high-end convenient store is a quick drive away. Only downside is that the space doesn't have good sound insulation. My husband and I were hoping to spend one day working remotely, but it was hard for two of us to be in Zoom calls simultaneously. Internet was great, but very little sound insulation between rooms so it was hard to do the calls and not be disturbed by the other person. Just good to know if that's how you're hoping to use the space.

We had such a great time staying here! It was so unique and genuinely a breath of fresh air. While we explored some of the grounds we saw all sorts of cute animals like bunnies and geese! It felt like we stayed in a fairytale cottage! The bathroom was so lovely and toasty. We loved everything! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
