Beachfront vacation rentals in Whanarua Bay

We had an incredible stay at Hidden Gem, Whanarua Bay. This spacious place truly exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was clean, equipped with everything we needed, outdoors bath delightful touch, fabulous bbq area, pizza oven, brazier, washing machine a great convenience, toilet and shower facilities made the stay even more comfortable. The setting is safe, secure and perfect environment for relaxation and rejuvenation. Immersed in breathtaking views of nature in complete tranquility, such a peaceful and scenic spot from the hustle and bustle. Thank you so much Alistair (down to earth, great communication, responsive host) and siblings for sharing your family paradise. Highly recommend! We definitely will return.

Beautiful house in a lovely neighbourhood just minutes from the beach. Well set up for dogs to stay as well. Easy to communicate with host both before and during our stay

We had an amazing stay. The peace and serenity was eveything we needed. The view is beautiful and included a spectacular sunrise and sunset. Access to the beach is easy and directly in front of the house. Well equiped & so grateful to find a place like this that is dog friendly. Such a bonus. We’d definitely stay again.

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. Al’s place was the perfect location with an amazing view! It had everything we needed and was an excellent setup. Highly recommend, hope to go back sometime in summer with friends

Fantastic place to stay. My partner and I enjoyed the fact that we could take our dog to stay with us. It was great being able to walk to the beach and amenities such as the supermarket were close by. I highly recommend this spot for a relaxing weekend away 😊

We had a lovely couple of days staying here. The place is a small guest house just off the main house at the back. Small, but perfect for us, had everything you really need and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking nice meals. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. We especially liked that tea/coffee was provided, as well as some bread, butter, muesli and spreads for breakfast - it's the little things that count. The place had tonnes of character and charm and felt 'lived in' - in a good way! Glen are her partner are lovely hosts, please do pop round and have a chat with them as they have some great stories! Ohope Beach itself is just amazing, just embrace the peaceful nature of the place and wander around and you'll have a great time. 10/10 can't recommend this place enough.

Had a wonderful 2 weeks over Christmas at Sherries place. Fantastic location across the road from the amazing beach, and walkable to the port and coffee shop. House contained everything our extended family needed for the stay with spots to go for some peaceful reading. Sherrie was lovely and friendly to deal with and little things like leaving the Christmas tree up and showing us around when we arrived early were greatly appreciated. Totally recommend.

Jnana was a fantastic host, incredibly responsive and accommodating., we were also able to check in earlier than we expected, so that was wonderful. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jnanas property to anyone looking for a family holiday. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can't wait to return! Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

A lovely place to stay. The location was perfect, just across the road to the beach and the house was comfortable and clean. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the beautiful view was a highlight of the trip. Highly recommend.

The hosts were very helpful and the accommodation was lovely with a great fresh pine smell. It is very close to the beach and I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves on the shore. The morning shower was lovely with good pressure for an on-demand hot water system. Everything we needed was provided for a great stay.

We were lucky to be on holiday at the same time as our hosts, who generously treated us with some crays!! Perfect spot, clean warm welcoming home. Ben & Julie are awesome. Definitely recommend :)

felt like home, very relaxing. We had 3 generations in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone. Close to Opotiki if we needed to go out, but the cupboards were well stocked when we needed to stay in. Loved our stay and would recommend it to others. Thank you
