When you step out the door, you are immediately between the terraces and shops, walk another +/- 100m and you are at the Pikmeer where you will find options to rent a (sailing) boat. After a fun day in the area, relax on the sofa or outside in the sheltered and sunny south-facing garden. From the living room, you step into the bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower.

Lyts Kastieltsje, a quiet cottage in an orchard

Lyts Kastieltsje is a short walk from the Waddenzee, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest tidal area on Earth. The cottage was once part of the cooling barn for the old fruit farm. It is surrounded by just over a hectare of gardens, orchards and meadow which provide a home for our three sheep, bees and many species of birds. The orchards contain plum, quince, medlar and different varieties of apple and pear trees. We also share the place our dog Jack, 10 ducks and some chickens.

The kitchen is fully equipped, such as dishwasher and combi oven. Nearby, there is plenty to do.

Apart from the sounds of birds, the rustling of the wind and in the distance a tractor, you hear nothing at all here. The sunsets can be amazingly beautiful here.

Hof van Onna

A beautiful wooden house located on my parents' property. Relax in an oasis of greenery from spring to early autumn, a beautiful warm autumn feeling when the trees change color or seek coziness in the winter months. In the beautiful surroundings, there are many places to visit. Giethoorn, fortified town Steenwijk and the Havelterheide. Furthermore, there are three national parks nearby, NP Weerribben Wieden, the Drents Friese Wold and the Dwingelderveld.

The Frisian forests are ideal for beautiful bike rides and walks. In addition, Drachten, Leeuwarden and Groningen are in the vicinity. The pipo wagon has a view over the countryside. There are several hiking trails and cycling routes that pass the plot, such as the Friese Wouden path and routes 51, 21 and 34.
