Absolutely beautiful place to stay with a stunning view. So accommodating with having a cot already set up for our son and made up with sheets and blankets. Breakfast was delicious and the location is so close to town. The host was wonderful and super accommodating to any of our requests. would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a lovely rustic getaway and my only regret is I didn’t have more time to spend here. The food at dinner was delicious, lovely hosts, friendly bartender and cozy bar with a fireplace to spend the evening. Would happily stay here again!

We loved our stay at The Barn Killin! Hugh and Dwayne were wonderful, welcoming hosts. Highly recommend opting for dinner at the house, as well - it was delicious! Lake Ohau is beautiful and peaceful, and it was a perfect place to stop for a night. Hopefully we will be able to make it back again someday!

Staying at the Poolburn adventure hub for New Year’s with our family of five was an amazing experience! Mark and Matt were exceptional hosts and treated us like family. Mark cooked amazing meals, planned fun family outings for us, and let the kids feed the farm animals. I am so happy we stayed for three days to experience it all!

A very unique spot on the airport grounds. Our room was large and spacious and opened up facing the runway. The lounge upstairs with the balcony was fantastic and the kitchen was well stocked. Breakfast was amazing thank you!

Such a cool space to stay at! Had the most lovely view of the lake and was only a short walk there. The perfect location if then wanting to go to mount cook the next day. This place really does have everything you need. It is on site to a camping ground but we found it very quiet and no trouble at all. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much :)

Lovely stay at Poolburn with Mark and the gang. Everyone was really friendly and we felt right at home. Mark is a fantastic cook! Great spot for exploring the area or just relaxing. You'll never get bored with resident dogs Bishop and Rook around. Will definitely be back for another stay!

We had a great time staying here. Lots to do around the area (we went walking, cycling, 4WD, curling). Mark and the other people there were really friendly, and the option of also having food was great! Over the weekend had some local pork, venison and trout. We also took our dog, they were really accomodating. Nice to have a different kind of stay with host invested in the experience. Highly recommend!

If you want some peace and quiet during the day, this accommodation is not for you! It was a unique experience to stay in the hanger of an airport, with planes and helicopters frequently flying by. And if you’re brave enough to jump out of one yourself, then a major perk is that your commute to the skydiving centre takes under a minute!

The room was very nice and much bigger than the pictures suggested. It was very quiet at night even though it is just off the highway. We would highly recommend as a great place to stay that is close enough to Mount Cook Village and the iconic Hooker Valley Trail with the lake with icebergs right at the end of the trail … just magical.

Our stay at Tailor-Made was wonderful! We had a private room with a shared bathroom. The beds were comfy but it was quite noisy with other guests but that’s what you’d expect at a hostel. The kitchen was well equipped, we could cook or bake anything we needed. The only downfall was the wifi was very slow so if you’re trying to work remotely this might be an issue. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable accommodation with walkability to the lake and surrounding restaurants/areas!

Enjoyed the quietness even with a f ull house of people staying. Well maintained and very clean with a very good kitchen. Need to bring food with you as not a town with restaurants and supermarket but being local it wasnt an issue. A good spot over winter with curling and iceskating facilities.
