Vacation rentals with breakfast in Waitaki District

This is the best experience I have ever had. The landlord is very easy to communicate with. As a person with mysophobia, this is the cleanest bedroom and bathroom I have ever encountered. The bed is very comfortable to sleep on and smells like it has been exposed to the sun. The bathroom has the heater and still new and big, absolutely 100 points to recommend.

The house on a very beautiful hillside is a few steps away from the observation deck.

Sarah’s house is stunning, with breathtaking views that make for a truly memorable stay. The space is beautifully designed and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here and would love to return!

The whole house is full of history and the balcony facing the sea is even more beautiful.The hygiene is good for a 140 year old house, especially if only Mr. Rodger came alone to maintain it.Thank you for providing such a pleasant stay.

A beautiful and historic manor! As an experience of living in a manor, I recommend staying here, but don't expect too much from the facilities. Due to its long history and other reasons, the furniture and facilities have inevitably become old. The water pressure on the second floor is unstable, and there is an unpleasant smell in the house. Rob seemed tired. He briefly introduced the house and then was busy with other things, so we didn't have much conversation. However, we were allowed to walk around and visit, and use the kitchen freely! Still, thank you very much, Rob. I hope everything goes well for him!

Clear instructions to enter the property. Immaculately clean. Walking distance to the lovely historic part of town. Enjoyed our stay thank you Mary.

Jillian was a warm and caring host. We arrived after an exhausting bike ride and she welcomed us with everything we needed: her cozy house with delicious food, a warm shower and a comfortable bed. we slept really well. The breakfast with Jillian's home-baked bread was amazing. Thank you very much for everything!

Yiling 's apartment was a treasure. Spacious, clean, comfortable...like new. Yiling was always responsive, and even picked our luggage up from the bus station, so my 90 year old friend didn't have to drag it 1 kilometer, as we explored town before our early check-in. I would be happy to stay here on my next visit.

Great place to spend time, comfortable and cosy with a great view. Breakfast foods a very nice touch. The apartment is easily accessible from the street. Enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a wonderful stay at Big Sky in Lake Tekapo. Even though we didn’t meet Graham and Vicki in person, they were incredibly thoughtful and attentive hosts. Before we arrived, they provided clear and helpful details about the stay, which gave us real peace of mind. During our time there, they checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly—something we really appreciated. The space itself was cozy, spotless, and felt very homely. It’s in a peaceful and convenient location, close to town and the lake. Thanks again, Graham and Vicki, for such a welcoming and well-organized experience. We’d definitely love to come back!

Cathy and Mark are incredible and delightful hosts. We could have talked with them all evening. The house is a beautiful restored gem. It feels like we stepped through a Time Machine. Book this place for the experience and quiet time in the country. The location is so peaceful yet is just 15minutes from downtown Oamaru. This is the perfect spot if you are on a cycling holiday as there are km’s of open country road. The home itself is so unique. It’s octagonal with a huge living space and each room is lovingly restored. We loved the parlour with its fireplace and games. The breakfast was phenomenal as well with farm fresh eggs and fresh bread. But by far the best thing was being greeted like a long lost friend by both of them. It made our holiday really special!

After a very strenuous day on the rail trail and a freezing cold wind for the last hour we were running later than expected. Debbie checked in with us to make sure we were alright and met us outside as we arrived. Debbie was so welcoming and gracious - she made us feel right at home. We were blown away by the lovely attention to detail (hotties, beautiful tea/coffee set up and the best shower with great pressure!), and enjoyed a really comfy night's sleep after an excellent meal at the Waipiata Country Hotel (a 2 minute walk away). A lovely breakfast the following day with homemade muesli and condiments was just what we needed before setting off again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Debbie and would highly recommend Behind the Bike Shed to anyone. We will definitely be back!

Spent the most peaceful and cosy night at Bron and Drew’s place. I arrived just before sunset so had a beautiful view out the window and lots of time watching and interacting with all the animals who come right up to greet you. Bron and Drew were incredibly welcoming and kind, i had everything I needed in the room (and the bathroom a short walk to the main house), and loved how much character their place has. Very special - wish I could have stayed another day!

It was a unique and memorable opportunity to stay at the Middlemarch property where my mother, Natalie, had lived from 1927 to 1944. I had spent many holidays there and so it was a most fulfilling experience to introduce my grownup children and two young grandchildren to the ancestral home and heritage. We also scattered my 97yo mother’s ashes on the Rock & Pillar Range behind Strathmore. Liz was very hospitable and showed us through the main house where she lives. She also provided delicious homemade yogurt with apricots, raspberry and blackcurrant jams and locally sourced honey for breakfast & snacks. We met several lovely neighbours and local personalities during our 3 day stay. We enjoyed eating at the local Kissing Gate cafe and the Strath Taieri Hotel. The landscape was magnificent and we really enjoyed all aspects of our stay.

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

We stayed at Nikki’s while doing the Central Otago Rail Trail. It was a short ride to her place in historic Ophir and we enjoyed looking around. She is about 1km from an historic bridge. The accommodation was very lovely in an old stone cottage that had been lovingly restored. It had good heating and very comfortable bed and a slow combustion stove if you want to stay in. 2 great venues to eat. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay with Lynley and Glyn. The accommodation was homely, the bed was big and comfy, the hosts very welcoming and extremely interesting and the house is in a beautiful part of the country. And yes, I have changed the way I cook my eggs :) Thanks Lynley.
