We all had a wonderful stay at Peter and Sheelagh's place. Everything we expected and more. The location was perfect, peaceful and close to family . The property is well equipped, super clean and private. We were welcomed by Margaret who managed the property. What a wonderful lady, always a phone call or message away. She was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, it almost felt we left a family member behind on the day we left. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Henley River Lodge.

This is a private and beautiful location with the on-site expectations fully fulfilled. The staff are friendly and efficient. The multiple entertainment areas and very significant fridge space and facilities ensured our birthday celebration weekend was a smash hit for all. We missed not having a boat to enjoy the river more fully.

What a wonderful stay with the most awesome hosts. Not to forget about Feston (hopefully correct spelling) the most helpful , friendliest man I have ever met no matter the time. Had a lovely stay and definitely be going back Thanks to all the staff for making our stay very memorable

WHAT A SPOT! My family and I had an absolute blast of a reunion here, with awesome weather the first day we lazed in the sun around the pools, cooked pizza in the pizza oven and played some volleyball, with the second day we entertained ourselves with pool and table tennis and had a massive braai on the gas and some charcoal in the Webers. Theresa helped us clean and kept us entertained and stocked with anything we needed! The beds were AMAZING and most of the rooms had a beautiful view of the dam. We would definitely be back, only word of warning is the low cellphone signal and the roads are very difficult to navigate in cars that are not 4X4 especially in periods of lots of rain.

Great stay in the countryside. Really loved the farm atmosphere and Owen was on hand to assist with any requests or questions - even giving us a radio handset to call if anything was required. Lots of flies but that can be expected with the horses and cows around. Even though it rained in the evening (which was welcomed cos it was super hot) we still managed to have a great time thanks to the BBQ on the veranda. Thanks Conrad and team

This house is absolutely amazing! Aspirational living at its best, I set new life goals after this stay 😝 Worth every cent. The attention to detail and thought that has been applied to this home, made our stay incredible. The owners take such great care of this house. Any issue and there is a property manager 2min away. I would eat off the floors it’s so clean. You are on the water and the unobstructed view is fantastic! The open spaces and views open your mind as well. The house is immaculately clean and the relaxation spaces and room for 10+ people allows everyone to come together or find a spot and have some time. I could have stayed there a month! Flip, maybe next time I just might!

Splendid location if you wanted peace and tranquility on the banks of the Freestate Vaal River. It comes with a deck boasting river views and a really comfortable hot tub. The chalet was super neat and the bedding luxurious and comfortable. Martha, our hostess, took good care of our every need. The venue is pet friendly, which was a huge plus. Highly recommended. We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful 8-sleeper getaway for New Year’s! The place was spotless, well-equipped, and truly felt like a home away from home. All we had to bring was our food, which made things so convenient. Our family had such an amazing time that we’re already looking at upcoming dates to book again. I was initially concerned about not having a TV for the kids, but they had so much fun that it wasn’t missed at all. The fishing was excellent, even with the dam’s water levels being low. If we could suggest one improvement, it would be to add fans in the rooms as it does get quite hot at night. Other than that, everything was perfect. A big thank you to the host for their excellent service and attention to detail. Keep up the great work – we’ll definitely be back soon!

We had an incredible weekend getaway at this beautiful spot on the Vaal River! The place was not only comfortable and clean, but Linda and Andre were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. We caught so much fish, and they showed us the best spots to enjoy it all. The swims were perfect, the braais were fantastic, and everything about the stay was just ideal. It’s the perfect escape from the busy city—highly recommend!

What a wonderful venue especially as we could moor our boat and JetSki after a fun day’s activities on the river. The house had everything we needed.

The Host Paul allowed us to have our very small intimate wedding there.. it was the best night of my whole life and the propert is superb😍. I would not trade that night and the overall feel for anything else. I have to add that the staff member was walking around our guests and for most park of the wedding sat in the main houses' bar on his phone watching videos (the guest toilet is right next to the bar btw).. i eventually asked him around 23h00 when our guests left to please leave our house , it was quite awkward having him sit there watching videos while we all stand around the kitchen/ bar and all talking about how the wedding and night went.
