The place is simply awesome. It is located right on top of the hill overlooking the Bhimtal lake. Be prepared for an uphill steep drive to the Magpie Retreat ! It is just a KM, though! Surrounded by lush green forest and with many birds chirping around (Magbie, Treepie, Blue Jay, Paradise Flycatcher, Thrush, Spotted Dove, Plum Headed Parakeet, Grey Headed Canary Flycatcher, etc.) The place is aptly named Magpie Retreat. Certainly carry a good zoom lens and a binocular. One can take strolls around the place. Very serene, calm, peaceful. Ideal location for unwinding. Hosts are very thoughtful. Have taken care of little but important things - Books, Monopoly, Scrabble, Cards, Umbrella, et al. Wonderful caretaker (Mohit). Delicious home made food. In summary, it is worth the vacation and value for money !

I felt completely at home - Anjaly and her family are so friendly and accommodating and go out of their way to offer help and support which is more than one can ask for in a new city. If I need to stay in Delhi again, this will be my first choice.

Our stay at Vienna Lodge was beyond wonderful—it honestly felt like coming home. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, not guests. The warmth, the care, the vibe—everything was just perfect. A huge thank you to Kailash Bhaiya, who went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable. Always smiling, always helpful, and his food? Absolutely delicious. What made it even more special was having Sanjivani Aunty, the lovely host, right there. She took care of us with so much love—whether it was arranging ghee for our baby or sending us dal from her own kitchen. She genuinely made sure we were comfortable in every way. And then there’s Matilda, their adorable dog, who became our baby’s best friend and added so much joy to our stay! Our little one had the best time playing in the garden, exploring flowers, and just soaking in the calm, cozy vibe. We left with full hearts. Vienna Lodge has become our forever favorite in Nainital, and we can’t wait to come back.

A hassle free check in experience, a pet friendly resort in true sense, easily accessible from the NH34, food was good, the owner of the place has tried to keep this place simple and close to nature, the owner also runs a Organic masala and cosmetic band in which the product are mostly made out of the organic produce of the resort.... had a very good overall experience, must book if you want a peaceful stay in natural habitat.

Green paradise in the bustle of Dehradun city! The listed host (Shivendra) aunt looked after during the entire stay. I travelled from London to Dehradun for work and stayed for a full week. Have no regrets and would definitely go back again. It's one of the best Airbnb experiences I have ever had and by far better than any hotel. Aunty is so kind and welcoming, looking after our every need, always greeting us warmly with smiles. It felt like a home away from home, with home cooked food and decorated with love. The place was actually built for family to stay and feels as such. Laundry and cleaning services are available regularly (in fact Aunty insists on this). The detached building is spacious and looks out onto it's own private outdoor patio and beyond that into the extensive gardens of the main house. It's very relaxing and a beautiful environment just 2 minutes away from ISBT. Aunty has dogs, ducks, chickens and other animal roaming about in gated gardens which makes you feel like you're staying on a thriving farm, her green fingers means that everywhere you look, even in & on the house you see plants growing - it's incredible. The plants and vegetation also provide a natural cooling effect which was very welcomed in the current heat. There is also fan, aircon, fridge and freezer available to keep things cool. There is plenty of privacy and yet if you need anything someone is always around to help. Just down the road are shops and a few restaurants if you want to go out. Mostly we stayed in, cooked and also had aunty' s food nearly every day. if you have any issues or there are small hiccups (such as electricity or water outage) aunty gets it fixed very quickly and issues are very rare in the first instance. There is never any need to worry. Definitely book and give it a try - you won't find better accommodation in Dehradun or kinder hosts. I have taken some inspiration on green/natural decorations home with me and am planning to give it a try! As a female I'd also feel very safe staying here if on my own.

The place is perfect for staycation with your family and friends. A quiet and peaceful place away from the traffic and city rush , beautiful place greenery all around with a scenic view of the mountain ranges near by . The host was very friendly and responsive , made us feel like a home.

Wonderful Stay at a Beautiful Airbnb! I had an amazing experience staying at this beautiful Airbnb! The place was even more stunning than the photos—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. It had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, from cozy bedding to a fully stocked kitchen. The location was perfect too, close to [mention any local attractions or areas if relevant]. As for the host, they were absolutely fantastic. Very communicative, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. They gave great recommendations for things to do in the area and were always available for any questions or assistance. I highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a wonderful host. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a beautiful stay at Sneha’s place. She even helped us book a cab and gave us local recommendations. The Airbnb had a Ganga river view and the interiors matched the description except that the Airbnb did not have a kitchen. Nevertheless the host took care of all our meals. The place felt safe and homely. There were few restaurants in the vicinity. Triveni Ghat was about 30 minutes walking from the Airbnb. Everyone right from the porter, the server, the driver to the host and the owner were all very supportive. I will definitely visit again.
