Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Cathy's Little Farm loft is a 500 sq ft apartment inside a storage barn on a wooded country acre. Fully appointed two story space offers peace and quiet. It is located close to I57, Walmart, Community College, Airport, Fair Grounds, National Guard Training Center, 15 minutes from Olivet, 60 miles south of Chicago. King size bed and twin size sofa sleeper upstairs, full size sleeper sofa in living room. Well equipped full size kitchen and laundry. Large lawn, gardens, and chickens to enjoy.

Enchanted Garden Treehouse (Amenity*)

Spring is here, the flowers out, the treehouse warm and cozy, and the hot tub ready! Relax on cool evenings in our luxurious, very private, 4' deep cedar hot tub nestled in the evergreens, while the moon and stars swirl overhead, the waterfall cuts thru snow into the koi pond, and the fire table and torches blaze. The running stream makes this a wildlife refuge, with tons of birds, squirrels, rabbits, foxes and hawks. We are 420 friendly. Come experience the magic and make a special memory!

Less than 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants in downtown Homewood to Metra rail (and Amtrak) station with express service to Hyde Park and University of Chicago (less than a half hour) and Chicago's 3 magnificent downtown waterfront stations (~40 minutes). Fire pit in yard can be used to enjoy summer nights. No cable, but several digital antenna channels available as well as Netflix, XBox and DVDs.
